Yeah they were looking at me funny. Gave them this look: "I'm a pilot(not) and I know what i'm doing(lie nr.2), you little x-box sucking- snot-nosed waste of jet -fuel you...get!!! before I afterburn you back into the twinkle in your dad's eye".... They said nothing after that look :D :joystick:

I waited a long time before going to the 64bit system. The main reason was that in the beginning allot of hardware didn't have drivers for the 64bit. As I see it the dcs series is going to be in favour of the 64bit system. Looks like the 32bit side of dcs is only just supported and it's not going to get more support over the 64bit side of the software. Here is as I see it: 32bit: Officially it will be supported but not at the level as the 64bit side. It's going to be allot of fixes and many of them might be have to be made manually. Many of the things inside the software is just beyond the capability of the 32bit system. 64bit: Fully functional and fully supported and will be the future of this project. Just install and go fly. So looking down the road, you will be better off with the 64bit. If 64bit is not an option, then you are going to have live with the compromise and there might be a showstopper lurking on that road. This is my view on it, from what I've read on the boards and this is my personal view.

Hi Guys Just got home from an air-show and Boeing brought their f-18 sh demo sim. Got in line to try it, the kids behind me were going "are you in que" - "yes (so stop poking me you little...;)) Got about 5 minutes and then about 15 minutes with their software guy. The setup was a sit in cockpit and a curved screen, run on 3 projectors. The flight setup was airstart and 4 baddies inbound 20 miles. they were non aggressive and there was no crash model..just fly through scenery. With the instructors help i got one with a aim-9. turned to chase the second one and asking the guy for various controls ( the pit was dark, time was tight). Got a second baddie with the gun :). Controls were stiff as hell (joystick) Tried to do a break-turn and i had to work at getting the stick in the lap. Funny thing happened as I got in the seat, a official said " the next to try is the colonel's kid. So the colonel watched my short flight and after my gunkill, I did a victory roll to his amusement. I then did a fast low level (map was california coast). Trip ended and i got out, the colonel caught me while i was talking to thier software guy. "you tried this before"...- "yes allot of sim time" i said. " nice job" and then he moved on. As you can tell its very hard to put down all the impressions of 5 minutes down ;). While i was waiting to fly I thought " you must talk to the software guy on the laptop". I of course had one question....Who made this software. I was told that the sim i just tried was the actual f-18 SH sim software and that it was a inhouse Boeing project. Did say the word dcs and he said nope, all inhouse for what i just tried. The airshow was low cloud cover and most displays where just flyby's :(. Later i found the f-35 sim but that was closed to the public :( . Overall a good day none the less. :)

looking at an upgrade soon as my system is gettin abit old...but i'm not complaining. I run low 20'es. I'm not at full settings but not at a level where i loose anything valuable. Fsx was unplayable from the start on most systems and that was a bummer...especially when the FM was (in my view) not good and horsepower went to things not important. To be honest...If ED could sell a million copies they would. ED has (like other companies) stated "you need x to do this sim".End of discussion ( again in my view). Didn't we have the same thread on 32bit vs 64bit ? -

I remember when some Falcon 4.0 mates and I went to IL-2. My first take off in IL-2 was blasting down the runway and then lift-off 20 degrees nose up. Well I learned something about aerodynamics real quick that day :). It was always funny to see the jet guys first take-off in a prop plane. Breakturn were another good laugh(nice spiral's matie). You got the feel the force ;)

Sounds like a bad pot issue on your rudder :( test it in windows and see if it spikes. If it does, time to clean or replace pots if possible. Spikes in the pots: if its only around the neutral position, then add deadzone to skip the area where the spike happens. If it's have all over the range of the axis and is very erratic then no game or software setting will help much :( replace pots. What rudders are you using and how old are they ? (doh saw the make and model in your sig) If rudders are within warranty, talk to saitek about the problem if it is bad pots.
