  1. Fri13, DCS is a flight sim, not Sims.... Looks like you are trying to make DCS into WT (the Russian WW2 MMO, you guys know what I am talking about)... If you want something like this, just go and play WT... You do realize that nobody here agrees with you right?
  2. Another possibility could be the target has been shot down and is falling from the sky, and your datalink did not update. Your AWACS will still call out the target since it is still in the air. Since it is falling from the sky, it is decreasing altitute rapidly and your radar might have a hard time acquiring the target. Anyway, there are so many possibilities that can explain why this happended.
  3. Your target is too far or its RCS is very low (such as an F-5). Also try to scan 1 bar with tight azimuth. Your target could also be manuvering and your datalink did not update. If it is not flying straight towards you, you will have a hard time acquiring a target that far away. Also keep in mind F-16's A-A radar is still WIP.
  4. It is working. You cannot see the light because if you spawn at night, the dimmer lever is all the way down by default, which turns it off (same for AOA light on the left). If you want to see the light, just turn it up a bit.
  5. And honestly even with the new MCG function, the WHOT and BHOT images are still hard to see.... They were quite alright before the update tho... Even without MGC
  6. According to the manual, NWS should be turned off when you go above 70 knots when takeoff.
  7. Yeah I guess I have to keeping doing air to air stuff (without the TGP) in the Viper now before they patch the TGP again. Or I can also do some CCIP drop with MK-82 and 84s. Hope Maverick will be added in the next patch. Good thing is that TWS mode seems to be working a lot better than before. I also noticed that the dynamic launch zone is more accurate? Seems like ED did some work but they didn't mention in the patch notes. IDK
  8. Yeah AA mode is confusing right now. I locked an air target with my FCR, and turned on the TGP on the right MFD, but I accidently pressed TMS down and my TGP is slaved to a steerpoint (in AA mode), and I don't know how to get it slave back to the air target my radar is locking. TBH, the whole TGP upgrade in the last patch is pretty confusing, and it gives you a feeling that they have not finished making those new functions because all functions works very poorly (MGC doesn't really do much, TV feed to too dark, SP mode is bugged, CCRP is not aiming at the target your TGP is tracking etc.). I am glad that ED finally made some progress on the Viper, but the results are pretty poor. Does anyone else also think TGP is much easier to use before the update?
  9. I wonder if we can actually use the TGP to track a random target without entering actual coordinates (or even without a steerpoint?)
  10. Yeah sometimes the CCRP does not aim at the TGP target you are point or area tracking. But if you CZ with tms down and then retrack the target sometimes it works. I am very confused at the moment.
  11. According to ED's newsletter: "In the upcoming Open Beta (OB) release, we can expect the following enhancements; F-16C Viper updates The flag patch on the pilot now appears correctly in the mirrors. The tank material has been edited The external model has been improved, again." Did anyone notice any changes to the external model? I can't really tell. Seems like the textures are better but it could be my misperception.
  12. Yes. But it creates bad habits. After ED fixes the NWS (which has been taking forever), he has to change it back. As the manual says, you should be able to use NWS under 70knots and sometimes it is necessary due to crosswinds.
  13. I asked the same questions. But according to ED, TMS down should be cursor zero. So what we had (zero to boresight) was not realistic I guess. This brings up a problem. I understand Viper is in EA but a lot of the features are WIP or not working the way as they supposed to work in RL. Therefore as we fly the EA jet we learn some stuff the wrong way. This also creates bad habits. With zero to boresight gone, now we just have to adapt to cursor zero with TMS down and try to use the snowplow. Unfortunately, like Falcon said, SP is a little buggy at the moment.
  14. Same here. This did not exist before the update but now it is there permanently. I doubt this is realistic tho.
  15. Right now if you turned on your JHMCS and try to lock a target using bore, you have to press TMS down once (it will still be bore instead of changing to verifical scan) and then you will be able to lock the target with the boresight mode cross on your hud. It is because the radar is trying to scan what your JHMCS is looking at instead of the HUD area. I am not sure if this is realistic or not. I doubt it is. Also, if you want to lock your target using the ellipse on your JHMCS, you have to put the target in the ellipse AND press TMS up once (I usually just smash TMS up for multiple times because some times the lock does not happen). Again, I am not sure if this is realistic, but from my experience of flying the Viper in "another sim" (you guys know what I am talking about), it was not this case. Right now JHMCS just does not autolock anything. Realistic or not. Keep in mind DGFT mode and JHMCS is WIP at the moment.
  16. And TBH, TGP works better before the update.
  17. Exactly. It is inconsisitent at the moment. I did manage to drop some LGB fine. But Like I said before, I was point tracking a highway but the CCRP on my hud is aiming at steerpoint 1.
  18. I just tested again. I was point tracking a highway with my tgp, but CCRP is aiming at waypoint 1 instead. Also, tms down slaves the tgp to the waypoint instead of center it to the boresight like it used to do. TV right now is very very dark and gray, very hard to find things unless you change it to white hot or black hot.
  19. Same here. And the new tgp looks very very gray.
  20. This might work, but this is not the correct way to takeoff in a Viper tho
  21. same issue here. NWS on the Viper is way too aggressive than other jets. Takeoff in a Viper, and switch to another jet, you will notice a huge difference in NWS
  22. It's sad that DCS still does not have a good ATC in 2020
  23. Well, the (you know what I am talking about) has this function a long time ago.
  24. Viper is the only jet I fly in DCS with no curve actually. The jet is very responsive. Also, I am using T16000M stick and throttle set up on my desk. No mounts or anything like that.
