Maybe it's your personal habits. Before the release of the Viper I have stopped playing DCS for a long time (before I mainly fly the Hornet with a curve of 15), after Viper came out I have been flying the Viper only. I did not setup any curves in my Viper, only 2% deadzones. The jet feels quite ok and snappy for me with no curve at all. In fact, I found I can do better in formations than before. I can also perform sudden maneuvers with no problem at all. It handles like a dream, at least for me. Every jet handles differently so maybe you are still not used to the Viper. Now when I jump into a F-14 or F-15, which do not have FBW, I actually feel the controls are quite sensitive and I need to increase the curve to about 25. And I like the handling of the Viper a lot better. It just feels so right, and yes Viper is my favorite jet of all time.

Maybe you quoted me? Because I did mention other products in my post. IDK

ED just realeased a news today about the Hornet A-G radar and they said this new addition will help build the Viper A-G radar later. So yes, we will get the radar eventually. But when? Well... this is ED we are talking about, so try to be patient. I doubt A-G radar will come in 2020 given the COVID situation and ED's priorities

Did you map the curser axis? TMS is used to lock/unlock targets, change the radar mode from RWS to TWS, IFF etc. TMS does not move the curser. You need tomap the curser axis (or bind it to a key if do not have an axis available). Try to find it in the HOTAS page in the control setup (if you are using a key), or go to axis commands map and map the curser axis.

Ok lets follow forum rules then... So ED might think their current FM is realistic, since they have said for sereral times that their EM diagram matches the HAF data. They have also asked real Viper pilots to test it, which they claim the results are pretty accurate. But, the Viper just feels wrong at the moment. It struggles in dogfights and it cannot out-rate most fighter jets like the Hornet and the Eagle, and I was flying the correct rate speed. The pilot I was fighting was less skilled then me, and I had to make him overshoot almost everytime to kill him (he did not score a kill on me even once tho). What I am trying to say is that from my experience of dogfighting in the DCS Viper, the jet just do not perform the way I expect it does. IDK if I was flying the Viper wrong or the jet is simply underperforming (or maybe other jets are overperforming?)

And I think I am not the only one. So...

"You cannot sustain more Gs because you didn't do G warm up..." Well, G warm up doesn't really increase your G tolerance in real life.

My two cents on F-16 Turn Rate and the EM Diagrams

Nobody can understand you. Please do not bring your personal stuff in a discussion about Viper BFM... You can always argue in reddit -
Lol, nice one

My two cents on F-16 Turn Rate and the EM Diagrams

ED might want to make the Hornet the flagship of their modules, because it can help with the sales of supercarrier and the upcoming maps... -
My two cents on F-16 Turn Rate and the EM Diagrams
SCPanda replied to TheBigTatanka's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
I agree that the Hornet is overpowered in rate fights. Also Viper pilots in DCS cannot max perform the jet because of the unrealistic G-effects in DCS right now. -
F-16 in DCS just feels it's under performing. Especially when comparing to other jets in DCS. They can do some crazy things but F-16 in real life should outperform them. It is designed to do that.

This is a great discussion. Thank you Nineline and ED for reopening this thread!

So ED said the current G-onset in the game is correct and realistic, what about F-16's turn rate? Right now the Viper cannot out rate a Hornet. Is this supposed to be realitic as well? I am just asking because from what I heard the Viper should be able to out rate a Hornet in a dogfight. Or maybe the Air Force has been exaggerating Viper's turnning ablity over the years? I am confused...

FM, G effect, and air to air radar first for me as well. Not really interested in the air to ground weapon systems because I mostly just do BVR and dogfighting.

[TCN-DL FREQ CONFLICT] ME, F16, Datalink, HSD, AWACS - What is wrong?
SCPanda replied to Falcon_S's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Same thing happened to me many times but I was playing in MP servers. -
Yeah, cannot understand ED's thoguht process. The bug fixes in the latest patch are not even reported in the forums. However, the critical bugs reported is the forum are not fixed.

Also, for the record the curve on my rudder is 50 for the Viper, which is still too sensitive to use compared to other planes, but if I use too much curve, then the rudder will work but it become super super sensitive when I hit a certain point... Too less curve? NWS will become way to sensitive even if you just lightly touch your rudder. And yes I have deadzone set.
-
It was not improved! First, no such thing in the latest patch notes. Second, I have flown the Viper for several days. The NWS is still a lot more sensitive than almost all other aircraft in DCS, which is very hard to use, especially on takeoff with crosswinds. I fly only the Viper and I fly every day, I did not feel any difference at all.

In some severs, however, this problem does not exist. The datalink works very fine. So IDK if this is a sever or mission related issue.
