  1. Something feels different with flight controls as well. Yesterday did like 20 approaches and I'm sure it was handling differently.
  2. Game crashes when loading a mission: dcs.log-20200520-180229.zip
  3. It doesn't work.
  4. There are F-18 missions.
  5. Cannot login Failed to get authorization data
  6. For which aircraft? True or apparent glideslope?
  7. Yes. Just keep in mind you cannot insert large rocket in launcher with small holes and vice versa. Zuni has a bigger warheads but it's older technology so I'm not sure how they compare. They are designed to be launched in salvo so you will almost never have just one rocket hit a target area.
  8. Hydra and Zuni are rockets. Each rocket consist of motor, fuzing device and warhead. There are multiple generations and variants for each of these components, as these weapons evolved. Zuni is larger rocket with 5in diameter. Hydra is smaller rocket with 2.75in diameter. Now you need a launcher. That's a construction you attach to an aircraft that has holes inside to insert rockets and fire them. Multiple launchers are available with different sizes/number of rocket spaces. Some launchers support single rocket fire while others support both single and salvo fire.
  9. Well you do not have many options: Zuni in DCS has only one warhead option. It's not specified, but by weight it seems like HE frag effective against soft targets only. Hydra (2.75' rocket) have M151 warhead which is in theory capable to penetrate some armor and fragmentize at the same time, so it's kinda dual purpose, but I'm not sure how well it works in DCS. Another warhead option for hydra is MK5, effective against soft targets. Mk-8x bombs are just general purpose free fall bombs of different size. You can use them with high drag kits like snakeye or chute to slow them down enough to escape blast radius when deploying them from low altitude, or you can use them with precision guidance kit like JDAM or paweway II. Unfortunately, lack of fusing selection makes these weapons really straight forward, drop it as close to target as you can and hope for the best. Keep in mind that close miss will not always destroy a vehicle but it can render it inoperative.
  10. Well, there is already ticketing system where only ED staff answer to your questions. Do we really need parallel system that serves the same purpose?
  11. Once you go cold you practically finished that fight. Any competent opponent will exploit your attempt to re-engage. Competition in BVR is not necessarily about killing an opponent, it's very often about maintaining offensive stance longer than your opponent can do. What should you do is use all available intel. (AWACS, Datalink, teammate reports, RWR...) to rebuild SA and pick a new fight only when you are outside of desired timeline. Trying to re-engage and join your timeline at arbitrary point will lead to some nice kills but you will most probably end up dead. At the other hand, re-engagings are fun, so no reason to not use them here and there when you feel so.
  12. Looking at the wallpaper I wonder whether anchor is animated.
  13. @G B, how high stack can get? Is there ever need for catc to lower aircraft already in stack to make space for new arrivals?
  14. That's easy. Try this:
  15. This is not competitive game. There are so many esport ready games you can play if you strive for competition balance.

  17. Undefined? What do you want to say?
  18. We need it for the same reason we need unrealistic TDC slew for F-18, unrealistic laser code entry for bombs, unrealistic flight controls position overlay, unrealistic pause, unrealistic active pause (it's outrageous to have feature that freezes aircraft in air, so hawxy)...
  19. I've just quoted parts I disagree with. Power plants and propulsion systems create all sort of moments, and changing these moments by changing power inevitably changes equilibrium.
  20. That's true, but without FBW, changing power or trim would induce pitch oscillations and you would have to dampen them with flight stick input or wait for it to find equilibrium itself. For example F-14 needs to be retrimmed for every power change.
  21. Yea, I understand that, I just cannot imagine a hornet in groove not being on-speed.
  22. So basically, if I trim a hornet to "ON SPEED" and do not use flight stick to control descend, I cannot end up in fast or slow situation? I guess slow and fast rules are more important for non FBW aircraft like F-14.
  23. Nice post, tnx. One question: How do you end up fast or slow in hornet?
