  1. Done!! Can't wait for the multi crew feature. Will bring heaps more fun and immersion to DCSW.
  2. Just saw this thread. thanks for all the additional love being given to the Mi-8(my favourite helo) over the last few months. Looking forward to these features.
  3. Would be good if we could get some indication in the near future of the minimum/ recommended hardware requirements to run DCSW 2.0 I'd be keen to have my box set up ready to go when 2.0 drops.
  4. Personally, I''d buy the Mustang as my first WWII aircraft as it is probably the easiest to fly (including takeoff & landings - just saying). I'd also say that learning to get these WWII birds airborne and back down safely in one piece is half the challenge. Just my $0.02 worth though.
  5. I's like to see the Mi-8 please. Certainly the least documented aircraft of these three ATM. Thanks.
  6. Thanks for maintaining and improving this Lino. Great work.
  7. So release will be on the DCS E-shop, or AvioDev website?
  8. Agreed, but I think that occurred in the update before this last one.
  9. Agree. Just adds more to the sim.
  10. ^ This. I have to agree seem to be the simplest, quickest and most logical path, and provides some cash flow required by the dev. I really don't see the point of SFM any more (acknowledging that SFM leads to an earlier release date initially). However, I'm sure most of us fly DCS because of the more detailed system modelling and higher fidelity flight models on offer. The release of the Hawk backs this up. VEAO have canned the idea of going SFM first in future. Apparently very few bought the SFM version for starters and those who did no doubt were planning to do the upgrade later on. The Hawk is a great aircraft, but boring to fly at the moment IMHO. I've had a play with it, but will wait until the AFM version is released before I take it out of the hanger again.
  11. ^ I agree with Flagrum from what you describe. Check your buttons presses in Windows, and also USB connectors are firm and fully home. Also try mapping your launch button to a different joystick button and see if you have the same problem. Do you have this problem if you launch using a keyboard command?
  12. Personally, I'd like to see the DCSW WWII map extended from Southern England to Germany, so that we can do anything from 1940 - 45. Some island hopping in the Pacific with carrier ops would also be interesting.
  13. DCS has certainly moved forward in leaps and bounds over the years and continues to do so. The future, as revealed so far, looks very positive. However, I have to agree that many of these smaller issues/ bugs, often rather minor in isolation, do compound, especially over time, to detract from the appeal and immersion of several aspect of the sim and indeed the overall flying experience. Clearly the primary focus at the moment is the release of DCSW 2.0/ EDGE and the NTTR map. IMHO the should obviously continue (ED are relatively close to release now it would seem) and once released, addressing any major bugs/ critical issues should be a priority. However, after this it would be a great opportunity for a period of consolidation and the final elimination of any of those pesky lingering bugs not dealt with by the release of DCSW 2.0/ EDGE). It would be great to see DCSW 2.0 step off as a complete product with a highly polished feel to it.
  14. Just wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. I hope you and your families have a very special day.
  15. Just learning the FW 190 ATM, so I do have a 15 curve on the rudders at the moment (mainly for the landing I find) I'll remove it once I have a better feel for this aircraft. As mentioned above, I have a 9 cm extension on my Warthog joystick, so definitely no need for curves there.
  16. Good solution!!!
  17. Not just wit the Bf 109 either. I have just noticed the same thing with the F86 Sabre.
  18. Happy Birthday cichlidfan. Thanks for the help you have given both me and the community along the way. Hope you had a great day!!
  19. DCS downloads have been very fast of late for me - for about the last four or five major updates. Normally maxes out my connection (ADSL2+) at 1.1 MB/s
  20. Great news. Thank you very much! Now I can really learn my favourite choppper.
  21. I so hope you are right. Its been such a loooooooooong wait.
  22. Congratulation Lizzard. That is just wonderful news!! All my very best regards to you and your family at this special time.
  23. Must be at least the last two (if not three) computer builds built specifically with DCS in mind (and LOMAC before that). Have recently been pricing new video card options in anticipation of EDGE and the new maps. All the modules Saitek Peddles Track IR X36 X52 X52 Pro Thrustmaster Warthogs Good headphones & mic Ipad2 for I-control DCS also made a sim-chair setup (and almost purchased a whole simpit last Christmas) So that adds up to a fair bit, but it has been over a fairly long period of time too. Divide that total cost by the hundreds and hundreds of hours I have spent flying DCS and I think it doesn't work out to be that expensive overall as a hobby and for the enjoyment it has given me. I very, very seldom buy other games these days, basically because I hardly ever play the other ones I have before drifting back to DCS. In fact I have a bunch of games I have never played once.
  24. Very much looking forward to reading up on my favourite helo!! Thanks
