  1. In addition to the missing runway numbers, some of the runways are missing their landing skid marks. At Gelendzhik though, they are half rubbed out
  2. I have noticed that in 1.5 the tail wheel appears to remain locked in the centre line position, even when the joystick is pushed fully forward and left or right toe brake is applied. I have tested this for the P-51D and the and TF-51D. Both have the same problem. Went back and confirmed this functions correctly in 1.2.16.
  3. AC taking off the wrong way - with the wind Further to the posts above, I too have experienced aircraft taking off the wrong way to the mission set up. This appears to be to do with the wind direction setting in the ME. Aircraft are taking off with the wind, rather than into it. Switch the wind direction around 180 degrees and the aircraft will take off in the other direction (still with, rather than into the wind). I have tested this at several different airfields with the same (wrong direction) result.
  4. Incredibly impressive for a first cut open beta!! I too have huge FPS gains with everything maxed. Certainly early days yet and still a lot more testing required with multiple objects/ units, cities, multi-player and the like, but wow!! Nothing below 70 FPS so far and that was in the M-i8 low and fast. Other aircraft have been much higher FPS. I've even had as high as 170 FPS!! I only have a GTX 680 and was going to stop and pick up a GTX 980 TI on the way home today, but thought I'd better double check the physical dimensions inside my box. Will now wait see how further testing goes, but might not need one just yet (will have to see how we go with NTTR though). Finally, thanks ED. Really appreciate what has gone into getting this so good already. Must be just about time for "tea and medals" at ED
  5. Thanks BIGNEWY, Pretty much what I was expecting. Unfortunately mine are almost four years old (and the first fault I have had). Parts at a price, slow response and shipping to Australia is not what I was looking forward to, so worth asking first. And worse of all - 5 damn minutes before they release 1.5!!
  6. You're not using your HOTAS through a powered USB hub by any chance? I was because of the set up/ location of my computer, and even with only a couple of devices connected the TM throttle would just slowly drop out occasionally.
  7. Hi guys, I have a button problem too and was after some advice please. A few days a go I noticed that my TM Joystick pinkie button (NWS for the A10-C) button No. 3 in Windows (just above and behind the paddle lever) has stopped working. Under the windows control panel/ hardware and sound/ Devices & Printers/ Game Control Settings/ Properties for the TM Joystick, it shows button No. 3 constantly on. I have unplugged it/ plugged it back in - no change to the problem. The button feels fine and freely presses and pops back up in the same manner as the other similar buttons (e.g. Master Mode button - button No 5). Given I have changed nothing about my TM Warthog setup in forever, I'm suspecting a hardware fault, either: 1. faulty switch No.3 2. possible fraying of the wiring loom causing a short as it goes down through the gimble to the base (based on reading other posts). However, I was wondering if anyone else had experienced a similar fault where the button appears to be constantly pressed on, and if so, what the fix was. Appreciate any advice.
  8. What a dog's breakfast!! Quite surprising really that this mish-mash of measuring systems doesn't lead to more confusion, near misses and actual incidents than actually happen.
  9. ...starts building SSD RAID 0 for DCS maps .......:smilewink:
  10. Nice vid. Thanks. Plane and map both looking good. ... probably enough to get me off the fence about the plane, even with a SFM (at this stage). Never buy a used car from Matt Wagner!! :smilewink:
  11. Thanks for the update and Q&A. Been looking forward to getting home to watch it all day. New colours on NTTR look GREAT!! Well done. Also excellent news about trees in forests being collidable too now. Hopefully AI/ weapon vision and interaction with trees will also be sorted soon. Sounds more like a very late Sep 15 drop for 1.5. Appreciate all the hard work and updates to boot.
  12. Congratulations to RAZBAM for reaching this DCS milestone. The teaser video is well ... a really good tease. Has me hooked! Looks really, really good and also makes NTTR look really good too. Only the missile smoke trails seemed a bit off to me, as they just look a bit too uniform IMHO. Of course it will be interesting to view some raw flight footage of the module to see more of the systems, sounds and flight characteristics etc. as they really are in game, without enhancement. I was however a bit surprised by the price. With a standard price of $60 for an AFM module, that's 20% more than say the MIG 21 for example ($50). One would logically question, "what extra are we getting for that extra 20% in price?" There is nothing apparent in the details released on the module so so far to justify this difference IMHO. Especially not with an AFM. Perhaps that extra detail will be released in the next couple of months before the module drops? Sure it is on a pre-sale ATM at a reduced price, but so are most modules when they first go on pre-sale. I'm just making a value for money comparison here, hence why I use the standard price for both in the example above. I'd also be interested to know when the pre-sale price is scheduled to end exactly?
  13. The first video is a perfect example of why ED need to get the whole collision, vision, targeting and AI interaction thing sorted out with trees in 1.5 and 2.0 or it is going to continue being a game killer for attack helos.
  14. The speed of the DCS servers significantly increased in speed (for me in South Australia) about 9-12 months ago (can't quite remember when). However, before this speed increase I use to use a torrent download rather than one of the specific FTP mirrors. Like you it was too slow. These torrent files downloaded at quite reasonable speeds. I see the torrent files are still listed there underneath each of the the FTP list for DCSW and each modules. You could give them a try.
  15. ^ Exactly as I recall Wags speaking on the matter.
  16. Good point. It will be interesting to see which of the new features that don't make the 1.5 drop, actually make it to the 2.0 drop, given that the two releases are only planned to be a couple of months apart at this stage. Excited to see we are almost there though. Its been a long road.
  17. Would make for a good Easter Egg......
  18. Of the three aircraft the P-51 is the easiest to handle IMHO, certainly when it comes to landing and take off, and as mentioned the P-51D is free to fly anyway. And welcome to the forums as well.
  19. YES!!!!!! Was looking for this question & answer myself. Great news.
  20. Acknowledging that "everything is subject to change," just from memory & personal interest, the items that I noted which may not make the first cut of 1.5 include: Revised ATC Dedicated server Multiplayer cockpits/ aircraft Forrest areas that you can collide with (compared to individual trees which you can collide with). I'm sure Matt has mentioned more, or there were others features he wasn't sure about when he discussed them at the time, but I'll guess we'll see what makes it at release date. And most importantly ...... "Everything is subject to change." ;)
  21. Can we please see a demo of the weather effects for each season by day and by night. Thanks.
  22. +1 Yeah it looked much better in 1.5
  23. Awesome! Just imagine how much fun this will be once we have multi-player cockpits/ aircraft.
  24. Brilliant news!! Glad you made it and looking forward to your aircraft.
  25. Thank for posting Bunyap. Thanks for another informative news and Q&A session Matt. I look forward to these all week.
