Do you run any mods? If so, did you disable them before running the update? After disabling any mods, try running a repair and see if that helps.

2021 (and earlier) DCS Newsletter Discussion Thread
Phantom453 replied to NineLine's topic in DCS 2.9
"Later this year, we’ll also be updating the Ka-50 cockpit (and A-10C!) to use our very latest graphic technologies...." Great to see these older but signature modules still getting this degree of love from ED. Well done guys! -
Try running repair first.

Excellent!! Thanks for the share Hugh

Hahaha, yeah, got me too initially until I started reading through the list. Glad it is copying files from the OB. Update is ~48 GB!! Hopefully we'll see an update to the OB on Friday.

I've been using flight sims for years, but got a chuckle every time I caught myself doing this ^ when I first got my Oculus. It is immersive! I'd just like to see the higher resolution to lose the "fly screen" effect and be able to read some of the smaller gauges/ see targets a little better. That and still maintain a decent frame rate.

I have to agree. I've enjoyed all the helo modules but the Mi-8 is definitely my favourite. It can do so much and it's systems, size & power give it great flexibility. Really the only role it can't preform is a anti-tank role. It can deal with lighter armed/ unarmed vehicles just fine, not to mention troop lift, rescue and slung loads. It may look a little daunting with all those switches at first, but you can just take your time and learn each system as you go. The only thing missing for this great module ....... multi-crew.

I think if you have the carrier speeds set to faster that 19 knots you will get the sliding around issue.

Great work and very generous of you guys to share this with the community. Thank you JAR and the rest of the VFA-113 STINGERS. On my first try I got kicked by the Air Boss for being too long. More practice ......

Thanks for that info BIGNEWY. Makes a difference if you know what changes have been made. I had a quick play with the ARC-210 on COMM1 in the Case 1 Instant Action mission and it seemed to work as advertised (mostly). The only apparent issues I noticed were that: - When I was manually tuned to the VHS band, the Guard frequency being monitored was still 243.0 MHz AM (should be 121.5 MHz AM). - In the frequesny bands where you can select either AM or FM, I occasionally has the AM/ FM indicator flashing. Not sure if this is supposed to happen or whether it is related to pushing the buttons too quickly? Nice to see these minor details getting sorted!! So what is the "Menu" option for?
-
Having the same sort of issues as those discussed above since the latest update. Have only tried this in single player but with several of the quick start missions. Seem to be able to switch between AM/FM with the preset channels, however cannot select FM from a manually selected channel. Either flashes between AM/FM, or won't change at all.

You should sense a slight jolt as you are connected to the shuttle (after pressing the "U" key). Also, I don't think the jet blast deflector will raise from the carrier deck unless you are connected (look over your shoulder).

Not everything everybody wanted I know, but a heap of great fixes in there all the same.. Thanks ED

Which Version of DCS World will you stay with?

What a mammoth effort!! Thank you very much for sharing this.

Well that was a nice surprise after Matt said it would most likely be Friday before the update dropped. "....everything is subject to change!" A tonne of stuff in the update too, especially for Normandy and the FA-18C. The ED guys have been busy indeed. thankyou. The only downside so far is the new downloader. The information it is providing is just nonsense, to the point that I can't even tell if the torrent has hung or not.

Welcome to the forums Bentlley. I'm not familiar with Edtracker pro at all. I use TRACKIR (V4) - V5 is the most current. Note that my TRACKIR is auto detected by DCS, and DCS also automatically sets up the binds. I don't thing I've ever had to adjust TRACKIR inside DCS (just the profile withing the TRACKIR software). If you go to "Options" (little cog symbol at the top of the main screen) and then select the settings for your particular aircraft (first drop down selection box) and then select "Axis" from the second drop down box). You should then hopefully see your Edtracker listed along with your other controllers. I have enclosed an image of my binds for the F/A-18C. Note the TRACKIR binds. You can tune the assigned axis using the "Axis Tune" button down the bottom. Hope this helps.

Correct. Not everything is implemented, so not all the BIT work. You can stop them flashing by presing the "stop" OSB on the BIT page.
-
Are you selecting the Air to Ground Master Mode? You didn't mention that above.
