  1. Looking forward to your next version upload Sydy. Very helpful checklist indeed. Thanks.
  2. +1 made me laugh!
  3. Yep, guilty. Even took some of my Long Service Leave. I have done everything I can to ensure I have Thursday onward (Australian time) free but there seems to be some global conspiracy working against me ........ relatives all of a sudden visiting - ON THURSDAY! from interstate. WTF??? My brother can only get Thursday & Friday off and desperately needs a had with stuff at his place ... WTF?? I have been laying the groundwork with my missus for weeks now, getting stuff she wants done around the house sorted, dropping hints about the release date, showing her trailers etc. She politely feigns mild interest. I think I've got her convinced that she will hardly seem me for the next few day while I get my Hornet fix sorted. All she needs to do is drop off food and water twice a day to the study. 4. Very helpful!! nice work. Thank you for the share.
  5. Yes, I was surprised that some large military bases, also used my Western coalition forces in RL don't have a TACAN - Al Minhad for example. Not sure if this is correct or not? I think you will find the TACAN in Oman at Khsab (84X) is working but but that the signal from it is significantly attenuated by the terrain around that airfield. If you fly higher or to the North of the airfield you do indeed get a signal from it. I also noted that the TACAN on Tnub Kochak Island (89X) works, but that there is no audible tone (morse signal) from that TACAN.
  6. Have you also re-downloaded your purchased planes into the Beta release? Check the Module Manager for available downloads.
  7. I only have an ADSL 2+ connection. The DCS 2.5.2.17559 update at ~9.4 GB took 9 hours with the latter part of that D/L as slow as 70 KB/s. By contrast, the Persian Gulf map download at 13.4 GB took just four hours!!
  8. Just to follow up my post above, the DCS 2.5.2.17559 Open Beta update at ~9.4 GB took just on 9 hours to download during the night! Much of the last part of that D/L was at ~70 - 300 KB/s, more around the 70 KB/S mark. By contrast, the Persian Gulf map download at ~13.4 GB took just four hours and seemed to D/L at the usual speeds I normally get. Go figure.
  9. No
  10. Still going on the DCS update (DCS 2.5.2.17559 Open Beta) after eight hours here in Australia and only getting ~70 KB/s download. I'm actually uploading faster! Haven't even got to the Persian Gulf map download yet. Very disappointing once again. Have reported it.
  11. Yep, having download issues again here in Australia. Very Slow.
  12. I kicked off the latest update (DCS 2.5.2.17559 in the Open Beta) around 1930 hr local time here in Australia shortly after it was announced. It indicates ~9.4 GB to torrent for this patch. It is now 0230 hr and this patch is still downloading seven hours later! Currently only 87% complete and downloading at about 70 KB/s, with occasional short spikes to ~300 KB/s (and the drops back again). I'm actually uploading faster than I'm downloading ATM!! Obviously I haven't even got to the actual Persian Gulf map download yet and will not be able to do so for several more hours at this rate! I only have an ADSL 2+ connection, but normally sustain about 1 MB/s download during updates & module downloads - except when it comes time for map downloads. I was just wondering if others in Australia are having this same problem again? I though ED had addressed the issue with sloooooooooooooow downloads to Australia?? At this point I don't want to switch to HTTP for fear of it being even slower. Any recommendations please? :(
  13. Thanks!!
  14. Just so I'm understanding this correctly, the patch is around 9.4 GB (for me) first, then I need to download the map (~26 GB) via the Module Manager. Correct? Thanks.
  15. Crash Laobi is a very funny guy but will probably be on his best behavior for any live stream with Wags (hopefully not though). Regarding the release, my bet is on an official announcement this Friday/ weekend for release of the Hornet on Wednesday 23 May, followed by release of the Persian Gulf map on Wednesday 30 May. Rationale: A Wednesday release for both ensures the maximum number of ED staff are on deck to address immediate issues during both release events. A week between the two releases will allow ED time to conduct any immediate critical bug fixes to the Hornet first, without any complications cased by the map release. Allows time between the two release events when ED's servers are going to get hammered. Hornet will release first because it is the smaller download compared to the map release, but a more complex bit of software. Aligns with ED's announcement that both the Hornet and Persian Gulf map will be released in May. Just my speculation of course!
  16. Have they got a patch that removes all the days in May before release?
  17. ......when you log-on to the DCS forum and there are 10,000+ reading the "Official Updates" thread and another 15,000+ reading the "F/A-18C" thread.
  18. Australian Skins - Thank you!!
  19. Thanks for the quick fix Baltic Dragon!!
  20. Points well made, Sir. I too would love to have any of those other Western aircraft listed in this poll and would buy them in an instant. However, for the greater good of DCS long term/ broader community engagement/ play balance etc., it would be great to have a few Red aircraft if possible.
  21. Wow. Fantastic question RaceFuel! Holy Grail stuff right there.
  22. Regarding the last Persian Gulf stream (over Iran),and specifically the "tease" with respect to the MiG-29. Can you please provide us with some more info on this, even if it is just another more detailed tease.
  23. Try sending one of the Belsimtek devs a PM??
