  1. Is this fixed yet? I just tried the Case III landing mission and cannot seem to get the carrier's landing lights lights to come on. Only the superstructure and island lights seem to be on and they a rather dull. I call the carrier for inbound on 127.5 MHz and get the normal response, but the lights still don't seem to be coming on at night? Any advice/ help would be appreciated.
  2. Was this pass after a rearm on the ground? I've had it go a bit "wonky" after rearming on the ground and then not releasing the newly loaded weapons. I think I may have selected the Stores page during the rearm process. Not sure if this cased an error somehow? Other than that, you seem to have all your ducks in a row ready for release. However, before your pickle, ensure you Step to each station and ensure each one is set to TOO 1. Then when in range pickle TOO 1 for each station. Then Step again and make sure all stations are now set for TOO 2. Pickle from each station in turn again (when in range). Otherwise you'll probably drop two JDAMs on the same target.
  3. Thanks Wags for the draft roadmap and the opportunity to disgusts it. I too, like many here, am confused (and a little disappointed) by your usage and changes to what is in/ out of Early Access/ Feature Complete etc. Although Nick's comments make it a little clearer. However, I don't really care/ see the point any more in arguing what is EA, what is Feature Complete etc.. I just see your list for 2020 and 2021 as one list of what needs to be completed on the Hornet. What I would expect/ hope for though, is that all these tasks will continue until completion with ED's full vigor and commitment, with no compromise to the accuracy and fidelity of these features. That then brings us to priority. I too, like many here would like to see a focus first on aircraft systems, and flight model. In particular, with the the options/ mission card and ATFLIR included here. New weapons can go further down the list IMHO (acknowledging you still have to balance your staff resources, workload and specialties across these tasks). Thanks for allowing us some input. Looking forward to your thoughts.
  4. A minor error message (file in use error) before the latest patch download started (22/04/20), which self resolved, then straight to HTTP download (no torrent). Was the quickest D/L I've ever had from ED's servers. Maxed out my NBN bandwidth at ~6.5 Mb/s here in Australia. A pleasant surprise indeed.
  5. Finally!! That seems to be it. The last piece in the jigsaw. Thank you Hoirtel and to all the other contributors in this thread who provided advice. Greatly appreciated. I'm not an F/A-18 pilot, but I doubt that level of control or procedure is required IRL to get 8 JDAMs off the racks and onto 8 separate targets (unrealistic scenario I know). I suspect the code still needs a bit of tidy up in this regard to get it working correctly. Once again thanks to all who helped.
  6. Thanks for your reply. I'll give this a try. I'm just surprised it hasn't been mentioned by others who seem to have it working. Hence why I felt I was still doing something wrong with the process. Thanks again for your suggestion.
  7. I too can not get this to work with two JDAMs on the same station in TOO mode, no matter what I try. I can get four JDAM (one on each station) to hit four different targets, but every time I try with 8 JDAM I end up putting two JDAM on the same target and only hitting a total of four targets with 8 JDAM. the process I'm using is: Allign JDAM Ensure all stations in TOO mode designate TGT 1 one in TOO 1 switch to TOO 2 designate target 2 Step designate TGT 3 one in TOO 1 switch to TOO 2 designate target 4 step designate TGT 5 in TOO 1 switch to TOO 2 designate target 6 step designate TGT 7 one in TOO 1 switch to TOO 2 designate target 8 Undesignate pickle JDAMS when in range. Even if I just use four JDAM on two stations I still end up hitting only two targets. I just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
  8. Thank you!
  9. I'm not seeing this happen since the last patch. Have you tried running a repair of your DCS installation?
  10. Strange, I haven't had this happen for a long time and had thought it must have been fixed?
  11. Hey JAR, looking forward to some videos soon from you guys with the new carrier!
  12. Would be nice to eventually see ground crew for aircraft and some airfield service vehicles moving about. These along with the new comms system mentioned above should just about do it. I would imagine the ground crew would be easier to implement that what ED has already achieved for the carrier (due to less interaction with the aircraft position/ action etc.
  13. Explains the early update this week
  14. I imagine you will have to wait for the next patch, unless they have a time activation period within the code for this Easter Egg.
  15. Nice April Fools, but the landing gear no longer lowers. Update: I think the landing gear goes down, but only if you get "three of a kind" when you pull the lever.
  16. Nice move ED, which is much appreciated. What better way to take our mind off the world for a while than to fly something new! JF-17, I'm looking at you.
  17. Thanks for the quick response gents. Your help is greatly appreciated. I've been adding individual exceptions so far. I has two issues with the first 2.5.6 update, but I'm getting multiple ones with this latest update. I must say I'm not overly keen about adding a blanket exception for the whole DCS folder (but I will I this instance). This doesn't seem like the right approach to fixing this issue, false positive or not. My main question is, why does this occur now with DCS (and not before 2.5.6) and why not with other software? Once I've downloaded, installed and run DCS for the first time after the update, can I then remove the blanked exception?
  18. I got this one with the latest update (Bit Defender). I've had virus notifications for the last two updates but never before that. The file D:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\_downloads\.torrents\HEATBLUR_F-14.arch_x86_64\89\897787d58d5886c56dc7a32cc4d15908ab471b45991c3074a7c1576376be810b is infected with Gen:Variant.Ursu.776114. The threat has been successfully blocked, your device is safe. Any advice guidance from ED would be appreciated.
  19. Yeah, I had the same problem with Bitdefender flagging one of the i-16 files as a problem D:\eagle dynamics\dcs world openbeta\mod\bin\i16m.dll infected with Trojan.GenericKD.42665178. and The file D:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\_downloads\.torrents\OCTOPUSG_I-16.arch_x86_64\cf\cf8939bfb14b188379632d8f62b394006758244f30a9aeb6e567cd5d423e8e12 is infected with Trojan.GenericKD.42669681.
  20. Mr_sukebe - May I ask what you found your gamma setting sweet spot to be after the 2.5.6 lighting update?
  21. So given DCS 2.5.6 is a major branch release, do we have an indication of which new core game features (other than maps, modules or module updates) will be included with this yet? I know the list won't be finalised yet, but what is likely?
  22. Off topic - yes. Know where you're coming from/ have the same dream - absolutely!! Realistically - ED probably has more than enough on their plate with their combat aviation side, but it never hurts to dream (DCS: Atlantic 1940 - 45 :) ).
  23. Pre-order DCS: Supercarrier and save 30% off the $49.99 retail value. Owners of DCS: F/A-18C Hornet will receive an additional 20% off, for a total savings of 50%. This is on top of ED Miles you may apply. Incredibly generous! Not too generous I hope. Thanks heaps ED!!
  24. Free map. Unexpected! Thanks ED. Very nice surprise. Would be great if, as several have suggested, we could have a 1940's configuration as well as the current day (80's - 2010's) map.
