  1. Question for all the experts out there, please be patient as a soldering iron in my hand could lead to a burning house/hospital trip. Noob. Ok, so I’m building a button/encoder/pot box to control all the radios, etc on the right side of the F-86 cockpit. I’ve decided to use a multi (10) turn pot for the tuning knob for the ADF, I have used pots in the past with my Bodnar boards and they work great for controlling rheostats, etc in DCS. Here’s the pot: http://www.leobodnar.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=103_81&products_id=194 You can click on the pic for a larger image of the pins and markings. My question is: How do I wire this to the Bodnar board? There is no wiring diagram for this product, unlike for the other pots for sale on his site. The other ones use three wires, ground, input, and power (5V). Anything I’ve googled about this multi-turn pot seems to be two pins (1 and 3) bridged by one wire while pin 2 has it’s own wire, two wires total. Again, how can I wire this so I don’t screw it up and kill the pot? Thanks in advance :)
  2. Left side panel for F-86 pit, test fitting switches. If I can find the proper switch guards for those 4-position switches the sequential commands will really come in handy :D
  3. Excellent news! Need another tester? I have lots of switch guards available :megalol:
  4. Thank you Avantar for a much needed program! I had been using an older program for assigning key commands to my button boxes and your RS Mapper is much more intuitive to use. I second the request for the ability to send a sequence of commands with a switch/button press, let me show you why: This is a button box I made to represent the forward right hand switch panel on the F-86. It is very similar to the layout in the real aircraft, but with a couple of additions, the mechanical gun sight caging lever (represented by the vintage switch at the top left), and the gun sight brightness knob (attached to a rotary encoder at lower right). It has three guarded switches, the guards are just guards, not connected to micro switches or anything, so moving them doesn't send any commands in the game. You can, of course, assign key commands to move the virtual guards in the cockpit up and down. Using another, older program, I was able to assign multiple key commands to a single physical switch in order to have the switch guards raised and lowered, something like this: 1) Physically raise switch guard on button box (nothing happens in game) 2) Physically flip switch underneath to ON (two commands get sent one after the other with a few ms in between - "Guard UP" "Switch ON" - virtual switch guard and switch in game cockpit move in sequence to up and on). Then, when switching off, I would just slap the physical guard back down, moving the physical switch underneath back to the off position, ie: 3) Physically move Guard/Switch OFF/DOWN (Again, two commands sent - "Switch OFF" "Guard DOWN", virtual switch and guard in game cockpit return to off and down positions) :) Adding the ability to send a sequence of commands, maybe with an adjustable delay time between commands sent, would be a big improvement to your already outstanding work!
  5. Working on one similar, not finished yet.
  6. I use the Gimp .dds plug-in, but instead of flattening the image before exporting I merge visible layers and then export as .dds (DXT5 with mip maps).
  7. Nice work, I think the spec is as good as you can get it, hopefully we wil get RoughMet/PBR for the F-86 soon.
  8. Beautiful!
  9. Something a little different, call it a "semi-historically accurate" skin representing F/L Ernie Glover's "Rufus". Still a fair amount of work to do. Little known fact, Canada supplied 60 Sabre Mk.2 aircraft to the USAF during the Korean war while North American Aviation was running at full capacity, trying to keep up with USAF demands. These aircraft were delivered to California and fitted with American equipment and given USAF serials before being shipped overseas. The USAF designation for this Sabre model was F-86E-6-CAN. Some 22 RCAF fighter pilots were seconded to the USAF during the Korean war in order to receive combat experience. They flew with front line USAF fighter groups. F/L Ernie Glover served with the 334th FIS and, coincidentally, flew one of the Canadian-built Sabres exclusively during his tour (RCAF serial 19244, USAF serial 52-2833), eventually scoring 3 MiGs destroyed and 3 damaged, earning him both the American and Commonwealth DFCs. Finally got around to making a rounded version of the Far East Air Forces fuselage ID stripe. Sorry, no leading edge slats ;) Starting to catch up on some F-86 requests as well.
  10. UPDATE: Swedish S.31 skin Hi guys, By request, made a sister skin for my Swedish S.31 skin (No. 60) and discovered some errors in the original. Made some small changes and cleaned some stuff up, updated version is here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/2315044/
  11. I’ll look into it, haven’t messed with the F-86 in a while. I do know I couldn’t get the replacement textures to work using the custom cockpit selection in the options last time I tried.
  12. Lovely!!!

    EMINEM KAMIKAZE

    Lol, awesome!!!
  14. I’d like to see a Banjo next ;) ... the McDonnell variety.
  15. Man, I really have to update my RCAF Mustang skins.... Nice work Sub!
  16. I think that feature is still broken in this version. It has been reported.

    EMINEM KAMIKAZE

Haha, awesome!!! ... but can you animate the pilot to flip the bird? :D
  18. Thanks SkateZilla!
  19. Yes, I'm getting the same error when trying to launch ModelViewer2.
  20. Wasn’t the only one... all Spit skins updated with dds normal maps vs. Bmp.Should save some space.
  21. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.... And the broad chord, pointed rudder too please. ;)
  22. Hmm, not sure how that happened, I'll look at it when I get home this weekend. In the meantime you can substitute any NM from my other Mk.IX (non-recce) skins. Thanks for the heads up :)
  23. Nice!!!
  24. Thanks! IDF Spit IXe, Seafire in D-Day stripes, and the East Indies Seafire above, all submitted for approval.
