  1. I know this doesnt help much but I have almost always bought a ATI video card for most of my computers since 98. I got tired of the poor driver issues with multi monitors and I have gone Nvidia all the way Elexie. Dont feel I have to look back either. The 560ti I am running does just fine for me. I think its sad that ATI has the infinity thing but cant clean up the rest of the problems. I would hate to be in someone elses shoes running crossfire and multi displays like some of you. I will add that using nvidia to run 3 monitors in a business application can be a pain and its better to use ati I am told and a Matrox box. ( non crossfire set up ) I work with someone that feels that way. But in regards to DCS, and a home office im using nvidia from now on.
  2. im very happy with my 560 ti and got battlefield 3 for free
  3. I am loving the difference with my ssd cache drive. I ran a HD tach bench on my raid 0 that is accel with a 64gb ssd and got Random access 2.3ms . Previous result was around 10ms on the raid 0 old asus maximus set up. I have no studder.
  4. After using a q6600 for 4 years i went with i2500 . not as good at multithread games as i2600 but ill keep the extra 100 bucks. Check my sig. DCS is very nice with this i2500k system esp with an accelerated and cached raid 0 Drive set up. It was worth the upgrade any way I can look at it. But I run a business with the computer too so there are alot of other ++++ i get with the upgrade to i2500k.
  5. hmmm I remember a xbr9 32 inch at best buy a year or two ago . That would be a great model too. Sony has tech in my LCD tv that pushs things to prevent lag or poor quality . One of the reasons that 60hz isnt a problem with my TV. In other cheaper models that are made for WALMART , you might not be as lucky with a diff brand. Also should add you should get a tv that allows PIP picture in picture so you can watch tv and use your computer. Note the model numbers at walmart on the tvs, from sony , sharp whoever. You will see that most are not main stream models sold from the websites. They are the cheaper cut throat editions.
  6. Yes I use a Sony KDL-32xbr6 32 inch . Probley the best 32 inch tv made. It is a hot rod 2009 model. XBR = hot rod in Sony world. I wont go back to a smaller screen. I have a second monitor that I can have videos playing and news while working on the big screen. If your trying to save a buck find one like mine and see they do hold value though. Even though it is not a 120hz screen the other tech makes up for it. I dont have any problems in any games including the latest like BF3 etc etc . Its all beautiful. The only CON about this tv as a monitor and gaming screen is that I CANT FIND ONE and thats after 3 years of owning it!!!!!!!!! Hell that saying something isnt it?!?!?! Some advice, you want at least a 256 bit card and the bandwidth does make a diff. eah3850 is maybe as low as you want to go pushing fast games to a 32 inch tv. Just for retrospec sake ofcourse. The memory bandwidth of the video card becomes important when using a tv. Thats about it.I am happy with my new computer and not much into a10c still enjoying BS2. Both are excellent on my tv. In my living room I have this http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-1_7-20007192-237.html kdlhx800 which is the XBR hot rod for 2010 . This is a 3D TV. In 2011 they gave us not true 240hz refresh rate tvs and alot of people looked for these HX800 tvs instead of the lesser and lower quality 2011 models. So I guess Im using just about the best tv's. Start there kdlxbr6 specs and dont settle for less than that. There are the XBR 9 models too but I think they are all real big and big money.
  7. review post 4 info and let me know if you still cant work around it with ajustments done. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1328058#post1328058
  8. check my sig. Trying to get BS2 in and run some tests. i2500k so far has been an excellent choice. Not as effienct with all 4 cores as the 2600k but with flight sims who cares right. Its right up there with 2600k on all other aspects. I am running Raid 0 that is assisted with a 64gb cache drive. I cant find the link that compared running raid 0 machanicals with ssd but it was very impressive. Zotac card comes with battlefield 3 and has a 30 buck rebate at newegg.com . to me that makes it about a 150 buck card. It will not work Ultra setting in BF3 in Multiplayer, just High and tweak. Will run ultra in single player bf3.
  9. no same account so this doesnt make any cents! Submitting ticket.
  10. was indeed logged in. As I mentioned the newer purchases are there. BS2 update and a10c. Nothing worked in a brand new firefox browser cookies cleared. Tried both unsernames with and with out a 1. Authorizations fail. I would like to solve this soon . I can see my Flaming cliffs 2 purchase no problem....Why not BS?
  11. It didnt work , invalid and I got three more trys before it falls apart. ?????????
  12. I have built a new PC and should have come here first and read about this Recover a lost serial number Serial number is stored on your Windows installation. In your DCS installation there is bin\stable\ folder with a file called "protect.exe". It is also used to decativate/activate your copy. It can get your serial number for you. Click activate/decativate and it will show you. You don't have to complete the process to see it. Alternatively you can get it directly in Windows registry with regedit: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eagle Dynamics\Flaming Cliffs 2.0 EN HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eagle Dynamics\Black Shark HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Eagle Dynamics\BlackShark HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eagle Dynamics\Warthog There should be Keys subkey and LicenseX keys in it. You'll find your serial numbers in string Number there. The last used serial number is stored in Keys in LastNumber variable. I do have an image of my old OS but I am unable to see through the garbage of the software file and find my key. Yes I did not write it down anywhere because the DCS website shows these keys. I believe I am a victim of the site merge of the Lock on site so I am asking for help to show my old key and activations. I had many left. The Website does show my BS2 upgrade and A10c puchases. So I just need my BS1 serial number so I can activate. thanks
  13. I am also going to upgrade soon I hope Jan or Feb to be finished. I would consider the ASUS P8Z68 DELUXE/GEN3 LGA 1155 , the other stuff isnt a concern. I like the feedback on these Gen3 boards , its like a second time go I suppose for Asus and peeps seem to be very happy with these. I really wanted to go with a gigabyte this time with the intel. I was going to build a bulldozer but : rolleyes: I dont like the bad press asus is getting with their boards in general but the gen3 boards are getting better feedback. Id drop asus in a minute if something was better but I do appreciate the INtel lan cont. and some other things other board makers leave out. More specificly the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157279&nm_mc=OTC-Froogle&cm_mmc=OTC-Froogle-_-Motherboards+-+Intel-_-ASRock-_-13157279 board you are wanting answers on is intresting. I wonder why they used gold caps but used a realtek lan controler??? Most caps these days are doing fine from 3-4 years ago on nice mb's. PLus a friend told me he would never sell an asrock board. and he runs a computer shop for about 16 years. The quality is cheap and the engineering , firmware/ bios, the way the options are on the board can be very very poor. Esp 5-6 years ago. I know they are making things better but the pain was real. I am also going to get a 2500k . I cant justify a 2600k for 100 bucks more. Almost no diff. Im coming from a q6600 as well. Been at 3.0 gz for years np Memory reality max shouldnt be over 1600 and since you want to clock I would get the 1600 ram just to be safe. Really there is too much to the software on my computer to risk a flakey system. Add in a flight sim to take care of and it scares me enough to stay at a mild overclock.
  14. I have absolutly no problem supporting further development and I cant understand how anyone would have a problem with prices. I think ED asked everyone how much FC should cost or how much BS should cost...cant remeber and it was released cheaper than I thought it would be. Bottom line is I feel prices have been totally fair.
  15. the CPU has a vitualization BUG , will screw with XP mode and you cant run VM ware right. The CPU is a failure. If they can fix the virtualization then I would get it. Im not that threlled going with a x58 chipset but it looks like thats what im going to have to do. X79 isnt worth it. If older software and stuff is no matter to you then whatever.
  16. Plus the hardware is not designed to be ultra performance anyway I dont care what they say. The chips used can only do so much in the laptop realm. I use a dedicated laptop for work that lives in my car. $1000 a few years ago business model. I think the whole performance laptop market is misleading, the low volume of performance parts makes costs even higher. While stuck on a motherboard that is limited by design and the reality of being a hot laptop. The return just isnt worth it.
  17. http://www.eweek.com/c/a/Search-Engines/Logitech-Giving-Up-on-Google-TV-After-Losing-100M-344197/ They totally deserv it I say. They made a bunch of buggy crap boxs and wanted 300 bucks? Sound familier? Then got back more than they sold...... again? Why ever buy another longitech product? These people are shysters!!

  19. I have asked Ryan at Pcper.com to include DCS software in his review of the Bulldozer series. If anyone here wants to contribute to that work with some predifined software ED may have .....please contact them at PCper.com thanks
  20. Thats very cool. I have a Pc upgrade to do this winter so it will be some time before I can turn my 32 inch into a 3d model but I think i am going to go this direction. So far the Living room 3d set is treating me right. I think ill get into this next year. Hope its patched for it later. 3d tvs are here to stay and get more popular.
  21. I like the 3d displays. I wish it did work that way.
  22. go look at AMDs webpage and find the video card specific PSU requirements. You will be amazed. I have a 950 Corsair in mine to support everything and some extra things plus the ol 4870. The 4870 requires alot of power. Their webpage used to list a OCZ 700w as being ok but after some years they dropped that off the list and went higher watts. Go check it out.
  23. Well to be honest one of our techs is claiming he has a 7 copy of ultimate I can have and use, update for free. Plus I would like to get back into virtual machines a little. With a 8 core bulldozer in the box. I would like to push some electrons and nutrons around. I just thought maybe there might be something to look out for or a tweak. Good to hear the smooth sailing part. THANKS!!!
