I hear ya and until SOMEONE makes somthing that can be worth the price tag, im not going to buy A10c even though I should ASAP. Anyway, Im just about to give up on flying for awhile. My Hotas setup is crap and I cant justify investing in new stuff esp since Im not rich. The CH stuff seems to get the less flak and hell im almost willing to go with it ...even though...this or that. Im getting sick of waiting for something worth my money. Ill put the work in but damn, get us something stable to work with!

i like those synology SAS at newegg.com. I would also like to start backing up to a raid 1. Its either back up or pay someone to do it for you.

i sent in an ASUS a 4870 and they wanted to send me a 5770 back. I laughed and demanded a 5850 at least , that i sold for $265 bucks. They sent the 5850 with no arguments.

Xp is a great OS if you dont run heavy games. I am not sure but i think BS would like to use more of the page file in XP. Unless you do the registry hack to max out the page pool then you might be taking a performance hit. Other modern games Black ops and the like can about tax my cpu at 90 -95 % sometimes. Seems like starcraft 2 can too. Starcraft two caused me to max my page pool in the reg. Xp does not handle virtual memory on its own well enough. Its needs a little tweak. Right now after the hack its fine. I can only assume that my XP time is running short. Plus directx advancements i hope are here or coming soon. Many games now are really running a quad core around its limits sometimes. Windows 7 is coming very soon for all xp users that play games.

For my non raided friends You can moddify a regular drive and make it faster than a raptor . I have using Raid 0 and a back up plan for alot of years. Prefer it. See if you can find someone with your board and a q6600 that is running 3.0 ghz. Maybe you can find in a forum like pcper.com or somewhere. I have been using my q6600 at 3.0 ghz for 3 years. Never a problem.

At five hundred bucks or more it better be repairable either by the customer or by TM. No more oh its out of warranty.... buy a new one.

A 4870 provides almost the same bandwidth as a 5850. It is enough for me. Find a 4870 1 gb ram Dark Knight new or used if you want to save big money!

I like 3.0 on my q6600 go and a 4870 dark knight vc. Im maxed out with my hardware setup and not looking forward to laying out big money for an i7 set up. Im keeping this system as long as I can.

Im going to buy one. I just hope they got the software in good shape. If the thing is released in BETA condition Im going to send it right back.

The the siming world needs to petition individual developers like ED to ALSO create their own game hardware to go along with the software!! ??? What is going on in this industry? Is it all smoke and mirrors, is anyone serious about flight sims?

Exactley right. At the OP ....... and I would add that I dont feel the need for 4gb myself. On my next build if Intel it will be 2 x 2gb sticks. Messing around anyo other way is riskey as hell. You dont want a corrupted OS.

I read about the sata 3.0 OR the usb3 and really its not worth it, maybe it was usb3. The tech is still new and hardware is pricey. I would rather wait the extra 5-15 minutes for transfers than go chaseing new tech worth a bunch of money to save what 15 min ?

Rage you are not the only one that is grounded from FC2 without a new stick. Right now its got to be a TM. I can play BS now though.

I agree too. 3.0 ghz is really doing ok or yeah you can go up to 3.4. Just make sure you have a good backup of your system if the overclock dumps on ya or something. I am on one of the best builds in my life of 15 years of computer building and not looking forward to tearing down a 2.3 year system for an i5 or i7. I was playing around with mass efect 2 a game that uses all 4 cores and could never get over 56% usage on the cpu. all 4 cores at 56%. We really need better software to take advantage of the new hardware tech for me to justify. The new year will be a tough decision to upgrade or stay put.
