  1. Well, no and yes. While there is no gauge or light to tell you the status of microswitch, you can look at AP yaw channel. If it does not counter-deflect when you yaw, microswitch is pressed in. It will move a little bit, to stabilise you, but if does not go all the way over, heading hold is not active.
  2. More precise you are, more precise slew will be.
  3. Try to make your own mission and test it that way. In my experience, a lot of problems stem from missions being bugged themselves.
  4. I tested this on my short SP test mission. First time I got CTD as soon as George WASed RF Hellfires, but any subsequent test worked fine.
  5. You hold consent to fire button for >0.5 seconds.
  6. Same here, just did a quick test on that.
  7. Invert does it for me. Are you confirming your choice with double OK? Sometimes people just cancel their choices without thinking about it? You can also do a repair.
  8. I can confirm that for the Mi-8 IRL. Maybe -17 or -171 got steering, but I'm not aware of it. If we are talking about airplanes, front wheel is more stable, I fly both. For helicopters? I don't think there is much difference, since you have torque and tailrotor to contend with in the first place.
  9. Great points, except both Mi-8 and 24 have castoring nosewheel, don't know about KA-50.
  10. While this logic is sound, this removes a possibility of crew engaging friendlies. IMO, it does not matter whether I am flying with George or another human, we are always a team and share responsibility.
  11. Was. ED took over Belsimtek in 2018. Huey is ED module.
  12. No, but you can use 3rd party programs like voice attak or joystick gremlin to work around it. Doesn't work for 64.
  13. You need to use keyboard to get from cut off to idle position.
  14. This must be mission related. In my test mission, flares run without issues.
  15. Did you reset the trim or you just used trim release? With center trim option, controls in game will freeze until you return your physical controls to center.
  16. You need to wait about one minute before attempting to start. I don't know if it's like that IRL, but same thing happens if you abort during normal start. Your best indicator is to wait until RPM needle zeroes out.
  17. On one hand, we need ED to keep kicking tires so we can enjoy DCS. On the other hand, they are starting to annoy a number of people. After CH-47 planned release fiasco and Afghanistan map I decided to hold on any future purchase of ED merchandise. Even though Mig-29 was and is my dream airplane, I am not buying it until it actually shows and is in decent state. And from what I can hear around, a lot of people feels the same. It has already been said and doing it once more won't matter one iota, but ED should start listening to its customers.
  18. Create a simple mission , fly it trying to engage AP and post that track file here.
  19. Agree. Agree once more.
  20. Yes, that was introduced few updates ago, but I did not report it, figuring it will be dealt with at the same time as this bug.
  21. It's all great, but you are constantly moving the pedals and SCAS is trying to compensate. Try that same flight with trim release held down and see if you get same behaviour. Then try doing what ShuRugal said.
  22. Module operates fine, it's the AI thing.
  23. You've got it mixed- short left is mode change, short right is DIR-TO. DIR-TO means that helicopter will turn towards your currently selected waypoint. If you have no waypoint, DIR-TO will do nothing. Page 540 of Apache manual.
  24. If you really want to learn how to fly a helicopter in DCS, take Huey on trial. It's sensitive and pure pilot's machine, with no help whatsoever. Once you learn how to fly it, everything else will be just an add-on.
  25. Is there a list of what is going to be available at release? Hope to go better than CH-47 one.
