  1. Manual doesn't say it, but I think that rotor/pitot/ etc anti-ice is powered by right engine only, since it's the only side with automatic activation.
  2. I tried it yesterday. 3 phugoids, each taking about 20 seconds to phase out. 1st +20/-10, 2nd +10/-10, 3rd +5/0. After that it's steady. 1200 ft AGL Now, if I am at perfect zero, alt hold will just keep it there. Problem a lot of people have is that they engage alt hold the moment VSI is at zero, it doesn't mean they are at stable altitude. It just means that helicopter wasn't climbing/descending as a reaction to your corretion from previous climb/descent, but it still has power setting which will not hold altitude. Why? Because you have to overcome inertia of your helicopter movement first. System needs time to compensate for that. If you hold that zero when you engage alt hold, it will hold with no oscilations.
  3. Yes, both baro and radar hold
  4. Great tip, I found out I am right eye dominant. Still, need to close my left eye if I am looking at brightly lit town to get brain to focus on NVS
  5. You WAS the weapon of choice and press trigger
  6. In theory you should be able to since both seats have full control sets. But I do find it I can get into hover faster myself than letting George go through his show. If you can't, just practice, it'll come to you.
  7. TBH, I am not surprised. Most Apache people are interested in shooting HFs. Physics of helicopter flight? What is that? And why do I need it? I want HELLFIRES! ED, maybe you should create tutorial mission on HELICOPTER BASICS?
  8. Work on the Petrovich AI for DCS: Mi-24P Hind continues, and our latest development has focused on Petrovich background behaviors. These determine what Petrovich will do when not busy blowing stuff up with ATGMs or searching for targets through the periscope sight.
  9. And ED just announced that Petrovich will be spotting threats when not on scope
  10. Manual is still relevant. Most changes are about flight model.
  11. DCS not seeing your collective makes sense if your PC can't see it. I have never heard of DCS affecting hardware connection, but it's DCS, so anything is possible. If you can, check with another USB cable, I know it's a stretch, but just to rule bad cable out.
  12. Screenshot your SRS bindings and your settings and post and we'll try to get you going
  13. You have to do it in SRS itself then.
  14. You want real chalenge? Put two bags of gas on one side only and land on ship. You will be surprised how many curses you know.
  15. Read the manual, it will explain how to set frequencies and how to select radios. SRS will automatically follow game selections.
  16. In the photo you posted, I can see ball just fine. What exactly make it difficult to look at instrument panel and see what that ball is doing?
  17. Both mission load time and render times have gone up. I fly Apache, Hind, Hip, Huey. Render times are worse for first 3 (haven't flown Huey since update).
  18. Practice will make it better
  19. Both Aeria Gloria and me have provided multiple detailed explanations how to set AP
  20. No, that should actually be opposite. You sure that AP is not trimming your pedals? Also make sure to hit trim reset from time to time.
  21. Yeah, but that accounts only for first start. I find game/map loading slower too.
  22. It's heading hold part of SCAS. It's always on. As usual, it's WIP and it will be tweaked. ALso make sure to use FTR to give computer position to aim for.
  23. You are correct, this is new. Found what might be a bug though.
  24. It seems to be a bit heavier and maybe less pedal authority, but nothing really noticeable. This is just subjective feel.
  25. You want pedals, rest of your setup is fine. If you have never flown helicopters, I would suggest you buy Huey first and learn on it (or you can use 2 weeks free trial option). Learn how to fly it before you go to combat. If you need to think what to do next, you won't have spare mental capacity for battle. While Apache systems look overwhelming, they can be learned. Don't try to learn everything at once. Read on one section, go into hellicopter and practice ony that. Rinse and repeat.
