No. If you are pushing stick against AP, it will try to get back to it's trimmed position, and that's where you get jerking when you press trim. If you use hat, it will still move the stick, but AP will use this new stick position as it's new trimmed position. In other words, it will not try to get back to previous position. Using trim hat has the same effect as if you press and hold trim, get into new position and let go of trim.

It seems pot on my twist grip has gone bad. But the thing that worries me is that I can sort it out with calibration and deadzones, but it would lose one end of calibration every time I shut down PC. Since all settings are written on device itself, is it possible that electronics are going bad?

You selected wrong trim mode for FFB stick. You need 3rd in list.

Lima is radar guided. Once it's off the rail, it will always follow it's own trajectory.

Polarity is for FLIR/PNVIS. White hot-black hot. Boresight is aligning your IHADSS, so helicopter knows where you are looking.

Why? Fix is to have fog either on OFF or MANUAL and they both work.
