I was doing some air to ground practice in a mission today and was maybe lets say being a bit "ham handed" & unsympathetic to the poor old jet, ( Piling on the G's in the turns when loaded ect) firstly I noticed that it was becoming somewhat unresponsive - I had to really be slow and steady with the controls. Carried out another dive bomb attack and when rolling out aquire the target,. the jet was all over the place...then there was bang and the wing came off!!!! When the jet first started feeling "not normal" 5 minutes previously, I did wonder if anything was wrong, but could see no cautions etc... So is it modelled that the jet can be damaged by insensitive handling in this situation? and why no warnings? I would have thought the FCS would step in etc and you would at least get some cautions etc? I have many hours in the jet and never had anything like this happen before so am curious ? Random failures is off as well..... Thanks

Hey All, These things have happened to me enough to become noticeable and annoying. Sometimes if I zoom the TGP all the way out it will weird out into some kind of spiral and the automatically reset to bore sight. Typically when it does happen I am in Wide Mode, but it has happened in Narrow. This happens with no Gimbal Fault present as I would be staring at the TGP at the time it happens and of course notice that. Another weirdness that I have seen. I have been getting NO SPI messages randomly (the white box bottom right corner). I am positive that I had a SPI just prior, but not true as the SPI evaporated and I get a NO SPI message. There is no SPI anywhere at the point and I have to create one again. I had thought that the A-10C must always have a SPI and if none is created it would default to the steer point? Another weirdness, so say I lay down a Mark Point and make it SPI and then slave the TGP to it. Clearly I can see that the Mark Point, the SPI, and the TGP diamond all stacked at the same position on the TAD. As soon as I try to slew the TGP it pops off. It moves to a position that is close enough that I can still see the TGP diamond on the TAD, but it is way off the Mark Point. I have to slew it back using the TAD as a reference. This process seems to go on for a while when it happens. Any of this sound familiar to anyone else? Caldera

I'm just trying to familirise myself with the Hornet, and I've tried several times now this mission were you are supposed to attack an Iranian column carring missiles. After a while a SAM battery shoots at me, but neither flare nor chaff releases when I hit the button. Usually in these instant action things, everything is online from the start.

I don't have a track, it was long MP mission. My first GBU-38 hit the target and destroyed it. Next 5 GBUs hit their targets, there was an expolsion (so fuse was armed), but targets went unharmed. I returned to base, rearmed and reengaged, now none of 8 bombs did any damage, but they exploded.

I noticed this when I moved my head around with trackir. It seems that the HMCS shows correctly only in neutral head position. When you move your head down the display starts overlaping the cockpit, as if it the display zones are taken from the neutral position and do not compensate for the XYZ movement. I'm not sure if this is intended but I think that the MTU shouldn't allow it. How to reproduce: 1) Try looking around with the head centered and see that the HMCS disappears almost exactly on the edges of cockpit 2) Move head down and see the overlapping. Move the head right and see overlapping on the left and vice versa. Move the head up and see the HMCS disappear too soon before reaching the cockpit

After the latest update, I have not been able to get a single kill with an AIM7, shots within 15nm at Mach .9 25k on an F-pole, second shot taken at under 10nm. Impossible to score a hit. They're not even dumping chaff half the time. They dive for the deck and the missile goes stupid almost immediately. Run the 4v4 mission. Good luck and may God have mercy. EDIT: Just got 2. One of my SOPs before was to switch the RCS setting to the smallest setting. I tried not touching it and now the pk seems back to normal. Don't know if it's placebo or not but there you go.

It has been a few months since I used the mav f and gmt. After locking tgt on radar and slaving to mav the seeker is no where near the tgt and I am only able to slew the mav seeker after un-designate the tgt. Is this the new normal or other issues. It is the same with both realistic slew and easy. Thanks

Hi all, any ideas why why my DED display wouldn't work today? Could not even display DED information on the HUD. Both times in multiplayer on different world maps. Tried the DED display brightness knob - but that shouldn't affect the ability to display in the HUD. First time was in a hot start mission - no display from the start. Second time was cold start, and the DED display was there through the INS alignment, but disappeared as soon as I pressed return on the dobber, and I couldn't see how to get it back. Any ideas welcome...

Can not get Mav-F to fire over 3 miles range from target. Target is locked/tracking, get in range que, still won't fire until 3mi or less, by then it's a kamikaze attack.

Has this happened to anyone else since last update? Pressing Ctrl+Y no longer modified the lower info bar when in outside view in my sim. The bar stays there no matter what and I can't change the units. Thanks

I have been flying on the Hoggit training server and when I set up a wp and designate that waypoint, I get the tadpole in the hud but not the wp number or distance to the wp. What am I missing?

As soon as my main landing gear touches down, nose of the plane slams to the runway less than a second. So it doesn't give me a chance to keep my nose up. I know I am not perfect at landings but at least I could do flares if I didin't cause tail strike already. Has something changed?

I just dusted off the TGP as I have never used it. Watched a couple of tutorials followed instructions and bingo... bombs don't release? No idea why - I am aware that there are possibly numerous reasons so I have included a few screen shots.

Hi, Im having some issues with the target pod, i have set up a simple mission for practice with mavericks. A few trucks and bmps take out the two bmp with maverick D version and trucks with gun On my way to the target i boresight mavericks and use auto pre mode. But after my last maverick is fired the target pod gets stuck and i cant move it no matter what i do? I have to power of the station to reset the whole pod, the good old *swedish button* if it dont work turn it off and on again. Is there a better and faster way to do this? even if i reset pod back to steerpoint i cant move it. thanks.

Has anyone else noticed this behaviour from the Lightning pod? Sometimes when turn into a target, the t-pod loses lock and wobbles off to one side as I roll back to wings level. It then stabilises on the wrong piece of real estate and I have to re-aquire the target before I can make it go boom. Is this correct? It seemed to arrive with 2.7 Cheers, Morat

i go back and forth between F16, F18, and A-10C II. i could very well be doing something wrong. recently in a hot start sandbox mission from user files, i started in parking. i rearmed with different loadout to include gbu-12s. when i using them, i was unable to hit any of the three targets i tried. question is, do i need to do anything after the reload to get the pod and the bomb to sync. i have been successful with the gbu many times and my problem seems to have just started. have checked everything i can think of. thanks.

Hello fellow flight simmers, Since the last update I've had many instances of the viper FCR dropping lock while in SAM mode post-shot. It happens when I'm in the crank (bandit 50 degrees off my nose). Of course, because this happens well before A-pole, the missile goes stupid and lofts into space. I've set the AI bandits to not use Chaff/ Flare (and they aren't) -- so that's not a part of it. STT has worked great and maintains lock on shots taken between Raero and Rpi (around 40nm in my scenarios). Has anyone else had this issue? I'd love to hear about it if you have -- and then I'll compile some short tracks and post a bug report -- a quick search of the bug reports hasn't mentioned issues with SAM mode since early July. Very frustrating. Tried boresighting them in the air. I use targeting pod to lock something, then switch to maverick SOI and lock the wrong thing, hit TMS aft to break lock and it sends targeting pod back to steerpoint even though thats not SOI. Tried multiple times same issues of targeting pod reacting while maverick is SOI. Tried boresighting on the ground, went better, seems to have worked. Get in the air, use targeting pod to lock up target but maverick is doing its own thing looking off into the wild blue yonder. No auto handoff. Not even attempting to look where the targeting pod is. Go back to targeting pod to try new target and it keeps switching back to maverick SOI every time I hit TMS fwd or aft. So I make targeting pod SOI, hit TMS fwd or aft and it immediately says “Not SOI”. Eventually just nose dived it into the enemy convoy and still missed everything

Does this happen to anyone else? You STT a target, shoot, and immediately missile gets trashed while target doesn’t do any evading that would cause a lock being dumped. There is no reason, that I can tell, would cause this. Sometimes it happens with AMRAAMs as well. Shoot, immediate target lost. [emoji2373] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Hey all. So i lock on to the ground target, but i choke on weapons release. Bomb doesn't drop. This is what i know.. 10 seconds before target, i hold weapon release then laser then i lift weapon release. I think that's wrong. Also, do i need to uncage? because when i try to uncage i can a dark MFD with one big crosshair. Please help. Thanks a lot.

I did a couple of simple simulations tonight. Just a Hornet with a couple AIM-9's and four AGM-65F's. My targets were a TU-95 and a Russian Corvette. I had my A/A radar in RWS and I was close behind the Bear, but I could not see him on radar. I had my elevation looking straight ahead and range at 20. But I could not see him on radar. I got within a couple miles and I could see him, but still nothing on radar. I had tried this with a MiG-21 earlier and had the same problem so I thought I'd try a larger aircraft, but got the same results with the Bear. What am I doing wrong? Should I not be able to see an aircraft as large as a TU-95 in RWS?
