Careful, Santa might decide to upgrade his sleigh pit with them and fly on by :D

Put out milk and cookies to lure him in. Traditional Santa bait. lol

Looking at those Thrustmaster MFD's... they are just a frame that you have to stick over a monitor. Pity they didn't put an LCD screen in them. That would have been awesome, but price would be waaaaay more :(

They look nice but kinda leave you thinking "what if" and "I wonder". Not really something I'd go for myself, but thats just me.

Christmsa but once a year...but this year we get to choose from two HOTAS set ups:joystick:.

Be very interested to see how they compare to each other.

I read somewhere on this forum that the price would be around 500 euros and that is much money and you don't get any rudders in the package? 300 euros for the logitech g940 sounds like you get more for the money cause I can't really see whats so special with this device?

You saw what, the Saitek or the Logitech at Fry's (Electronics store)? I'd imagine the Logitech since it is suppose to be released now.

GPU: RTX 4090 - 3,000 MHz core / 12,000 MHz VRAM.

I think I might hold off on buying the G940 now after seeing the Saitek. The G940 looks great but it also looks more like a computer controller. The Saitek looks like something you might actually find in a military aircraft. Obviously whichever one ends up having the best features and control will win. Hopefully the Saitek doesn't take too long to come out so we can compare them before long.

Yes, it's ancient but great, I was thinking of getting one of these but I never managed to do it, back in the day on-line shopping was not very popular and I had no credit cards as a kid hence the main reason I never succeded. I played IAF and F-15 back then!

Here's the link, review and pics:http://www.combatsim.com/archive/htm/htm_arc4/sun-hotas.htm

It used old game port connectors but it looked like real F-15C HOTAS. IMO, G940 is pretty much alike!

I see your point. But I believe in going forward breaking new boundaries.

I am awaiting the new products from Logitek and Saitek let the battle commence.

Seems very similar to G940. Looking at them both, i wonder, why none of them did implement asymmetric half-handles design. At least one company could offer something the other does not :)

I've been testing separate-throttle control in LO:FC and found it to be of no particular use, except maybe aerobatics and engine damage situations. Being linked with rudder, it gives you very powerful, excessive yaw control. You can make strange average-speed maneuvers (track here). It's exotic, no more, no less.

In general, you may need to adjust throttle individually to make your plane fly straight, when your rudder becomes inefficient ("damage" situation). This trick can be used with planes having significant spatial engine separation, like Su-27, A-10 or B-737 :) And... this situation is not that widespread. And of course you can simply put one wing lower than the other to achieve about the same straight-way attitude.

What's important too, when you separate these handles, you loose comfort. More separate they get, more comfort you loose. You hold and move them both OR you hold just the right half with just the half of your palm to operate the buttons etc.

Concerning prop-driven guys, they have to adjust throttle and prop with 2 separate controls. That's where you can get true benefit of complicated 2-handle design. BUT one control has to be the main one, used continuously, and the other is used occasionally and individually. That could be done with 1 main handle and 1 supplementary one. A combination like this (that's based on F-16 layout, cold be F-15 style too). You could hold your hand firmly on the throttle any time, you could move them both and separately.

well.. u can do wonders if you can mess around with electronics and some handy work...

do i F-15, or do i F-16...

hannibal, do you have any sort of write up posted online about that USB mod to the Suncom SFS? I have one, and am thinking about converting the set. Did you use one of Leo Bodnar's boards, or ???

Clever of Saitek - now folks will think twice about getting the Logitech stick with the promise of a better Saitek around the corner. I know I'm not buying anything until the Saitek is out and reviewed!
