"With T.A.R.G.E.T software that allows for total interaction between different Thrustmaster USB controllers, with simplified configurations in simulators, and the use of a single preset for all controllers, The HOTAS WARTHOG™ joystick is ready for an enlarged ecosystem including among other development, new Add-On for Joystick."

Sounds like a new grip at the very least.

Unless they fix Target it won't be an improvement, just a change with limited value.

It needs to support the full 128 buttons that Direct X is capable of using. There are a number of other functional changes that would improve things but that is the big one.

Dont even get me started on the cheap plastic inside crap. Unless they come up with something thats actually worth that amount of money i would stay away from their products.

There are at least 3 other companies that make controllers that are miles ahead when it comes to quality parts.

Not a biggie IMHO.

Only thing I think is missing is axis rate compression.

Same here, but for a modded Cougar. Hopefully they'll have something ready for the E3.

They are kidding when they wrote "Designed for simmers, by simmers:"

:megalol::megalol::megalol::megalol:They think that we are idiots!!! They put plastic inside the Warthog and the thought that we wont see it?

joystick.gif

Gladly it's 2017 and now we have other companies with excelent quality...Virpil, VKB, Baur, Komodo... And there the statement Designed for simmers, by simmers it's purely true and not an empty commercial nonsense. :pilotfly:

Thrustmaster already stated that they wont be going for a F/A-18C HOTAS due to small amount of buttons.

They released TWCS which is a low fidelity version of F/A-18C throttle IMHO.

I doubt they would release anything as an add-on too.

TM might come out with a stick since F-15C and F/A-18C are almost identical.

What TM mentioned as HOTAS for 2020 might be for the F-15C.

The press release from today seems to indicate that an F/A18 version is coming out in Q3.

Where does it mention a release time frame?

It doesn't, he must be mixing up E3 with Q3...

From the official press release:

Eagle Dynamics SA is excited to announce that DCS: F/A-18C Hornet will have its debut showing at E3 2017 at the Thrustmaster® booth. DCS: F/A-18C will be by far the most authentic PC simulation of a modern fighter to date. Based on exhaustive research in association with Boeing, current fighter pilots and the development of our new simulation engine, the DCS: F/A-18C Hornet will set a new benchmark.

Eagle Dynamics SA senior producer, Matt Wagner, states, “We are happy to announce the cooperation between Eagle Dynamics SA and Thrustmaster® to create the ultimate F/A-18C Hornet simulation experience”. “After the success of our first collaboration with Eagle Dynamic SA on DCS: A-10C Warthog, that lead to the HOTAS Warthog, we are proud to start a new collaboration on the DCS: F/A-18C Hornet”, says Gilles Raulet, Thrustmaster Development Director.

Please stop by the Thrustmaster® booth South Hall #2813 and experience the next level of combat aviation simulation!

Well either way we will find out if a F-18C HOTAS is in the works when E3 comes along in June..

In the press realease they do mention a Collaboration and the fact the last one led to the Warthog HOTAS so I think it could come to pass..

But this is just my Opinion on what I read and not FACT ;)
