It is working for me if I put the "A_10C_C_EDM_TEX.zip" file in this folder:

...DCS World\Mods\aircraft\A-10C\Cockpit\Resources\Model\Textures

Good luck!

PS: Make a backup or better use JSGME!

Hey Marioshata

Of course I use JSGME but it didn't worked for me...

Will check again, maybe it's just a small error in the path :-)

If the one you have isn't working download this one. I just checked it and it's working 100%.

for a-10a, you need to rename it to 'a-10a-glass-reflect.tga.dds'

for a-10c, you dont need to change the name

for both, create a folder beside *.zip with same name, and put the dds into the new folder respectively

Does anyone know what's the reason for the windshield to be tinted like this in the real aircraft?

I don't recall seeing a photo where this tint is evident...

My rig specs:

Intel Core i7 4770 @3.4Ghz // Corsair 16GB DDR3 // MoBo Asus Z87K // HDD 1TB 7200RPM // eVGA Nvidia GTX 760GT 2GB DDR5 // LG 3D 47" 1920x1080 // Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS // Saitek Combat Pro Pedals // Thrustmaster MFD Cougar pack // PS3 Eye + FTNOIR

But I have no idea why is it like that and if it's on every A-10, maybe snoopy will see this and comment.

My only issue with the mod is that it also tints the HUD area which isn't tinted on the real A10. Perhaps I've installed it incorrectly. I would like to get it to work correctly though.

I've always been under the impression that the tint is due to a radar-reflective coating applied to the outside of the canopy. The 'hole' that comprises the cockpit and pilot can be a huge addition to the radar cross-section of the aircraft, depending on its type, and the coating is applied to help stop this from happening.

I vaguely remember reading that later versions of the F-16 have the same coating for the same reason.

does anyone have a JSGME file ready for this mod?

Know and use all the capabilities in your airplane. If you don't, sooner or later, some guy who does use them all will kick your ass.

Works fine for the A-10C but don't seem to work for the A-10A :(

I will take a look at the A-10A texture and make one for this plane.

EDIT: Uploaded "JSGME Ready" version for A-10C.

Yes, it's normal when using the mod. It's the shadow from hud and cockpit. Can't do anything about it, sorry.

EDIT: Also you can try out V2 version of the mod, there this issue should be less noticeable because it has more transparent glass than V1.
