Wow...the launch parameters for the Vikhr seem strict! You have to have to put one reticule on top of each other to get a launch authorization? What if you override that (I thought I heard in the video that you can do this)? Will the missile still track? This is different than the Su-25T where you can get a missile to track at the limits of the Shkval 's field of vision, so I'm wondering if this is a real difference between the aircraft or an inaccuracy with the Frogfoot.

Btw...even on youtube's craptacular quality, the scenery looks gorgeous! :D

So cool :) Waking up, having a morning cup of coco and a new producers note. What's that spear looking thing in the front that has those moving blades? Looks like something Predator (the alien guy) would carry :)

Also love the fact that you could use that chopper almost like a dive bomber if carrying those little bombs :) And the textures are just beautiful. Lots of colour on the ground and water reflecting and stuff :) And the Artillery dust clouds as well.

Btw Wags sounded almost happy during this note so maybe the release of the sim is nigh :D

I hate to say it, but we told you so... :)

If the missile is fired outside of the reticle, it will not "catch" or "enter" the control zone and will go dumb. You have to picture the laser as a cone, originating in the helicopter's nose and widening out toward the target. The missile has to enter inside this cone to guide, but it can only do so about 100 meters ahead of the helicopter, where the cone is wide enough. So, if you fire the missile even a few degrees off, it will miss the cone entirely.
This is different than the Su-25T where you can get a missile to track at the limits of the Shkval 's field of vision, so I'm wondering if this is a real difference between the aircraft or an inaccuracy with the Frogfoot.
Inaccuracy with the Frogfoot.

In LO you can fire Vihrs under 60 or above degrees (overriding LA) and Vikhr still tracks target, lmao, now we have full real :D

Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D

I think thats the Pitot Tube http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pitot_tube#Industry_Applications with some extra things for meassuring. Can`t find more informations about it on the web. Maybe a Beta Tester can answer on this.

There was a talk about it here on this forum. It's called DUAS-V.

http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=447764&postcount=52

(...)DUAS-V (on Mi-24s:thumbup:, Su-22s, Su-25s, think the same on BS) is two pairs of blades looking like arrowhead on a boom on the nose. Those are airflow direction sensors to the weapon computer: the horizontal pair is for the AoA, the vertical one is for the side-slip sensing. With this info combined with the radio (or baro) altitude and pitch&roll from the gyroscopes, the computer will know the position and angles of the weapon system's axis you're using to aim and calculates the current range of target (the theory is that we know one angle and one side of a rectangular triangle) without a laser rangefinder:). As a result you will see the CCIP on the HUD or the turret will move the gun for the right direction to hit. The computer can also release bombs automatically with this calculating method.

You see it is the technology of 70s with analogue computers but believe it is as precise as a brain surgeon:D

I hope it was simple;) At airshow static displays where we ain't have no dictionaries and questions are the same for hours, we sometimes explain that as a simple ion blaster, phaser gun or so... There must be some refreshing changes, hm?

Bye!
