Slipp Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Folks don't fight. The aircraft development is evolving all the time. The final capabilities are not set in stone yet. Please don't take away the SEAD and Anti-ship missiles because some people do not agree with you including them. There are probably more of us who are dying to use them. :)
Ktulu2 Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 How is 2000C maneuvrability vs F-15? The mirage will get an advantage at the merge (in FSX I would have a firing solution on friends in the F18 after like 20s lol) If F15 is good and makes it a vertical fight, or keeps his speed he might have a chance. On the other hand, if the Eagle bleeds his speed, all the mirage has to do is start scissoring and the eagle will loose for sure. I don't really know for the M2000's acceleration, so that's why I think going vertical might be good, in a turning fight though, anything appart an F16 can wave the white flag lol I do DCS videos on youtube : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAs8VxtXRJHZLnKS4mKunnQ?view_as=public
Askerov24 Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Guys, guys, guys, everything is good, but i have a question. Which version of Mirage 2000C was used in Sky Fighters movie? If it is 2000C RDI, then, will we get the camouflage with 5-NZ numbers? I really want to see them in DCS. Oh, and, it would be nice, if you add this camo too Acer Aspire E5-571G-713W/Intel® Core™ i7-4510U 2.0-3.1GHz/12 GB DDR3 L Memo/NVIDIA® GeForce® 820M 2 GB/1000 GB HDD

XeNoise Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Well this is probably my Nr.1 Video from that movie. It has alot more of the flight scenes. It might have every single (interesting) flight scene in the movie. Together with Decently fitting music. Its required for all fans of the Mirage 2000 to watch that video begining to end (yes its 13 minutes but its worth it) I just wish this movie had had a "Good" story. =( it had such good flying Scenes that the story kinda spoils it. Comon i can even come out with a story on this short notice. For example France still has a decent number of overseas territories so why not make a movie with a Fictional conflict where French mirages are defending the "Colony" Lets take to Fictional Scenarios just quickly. Nr1 south America. With Brazil Deciding to invade French Guiana with French Mirages fighting to defend it against the Brazil airforce (Either Using F-5Es Mirage IIIs or Mirage 2000 Depending on what time frame u pick) Or you could Make it in Africa with French forces Defending Reunion/Mauritius from a generic African nation deciding they want some new islands. Anything like that would be cooler then the story of the movie =P Anyway slightly offtopic xD I cant wait for this Module to come out => I knew this movie would come up in this thread one day :D Fantastic movie, story a bit top gun style nothing special, but the scenes in the air... wow, only after this movie i fell in love with the mirage. My preorder is sure, can't wait. Hope to see the modern version one day, with modern cockpit, two screens for rwr, radar and gps and whatnot.

At 4:00 are given some very interesting facts, about the turning capability of the aircraft. Mirage 2000EG flying with 2 Magic missiles , 50 % internal fuel (1990 lt) at 15.000 feet with Mach 0.7, has an instantaneous turning rate of 22 deg. per second, while the F-16 C has 18 deg. per second rate. Under the same conditions, but flying with Mach 0.9 the M2000EG has an Permanent turning rate of 11 deg. per second, while the F-16 C 13 deg. /sec. Some other interesting facts (in 14 : 00). The approach speed, depending on the weight, is 155 - 165 kts, and the touchdown speed circa 140 kts. The Ideal launch angle for the Magic missile is within 30 of the longitudinal axis (20: 30). The head of the Magic 2 missile can turn left/right 55 deg. and the missile achieves a load of 50 g's (in comparison to sidewinders 35 g's) M2000's roll rate is 180 deg. per sec at 42.000 feet flying at Mach 1.2 (30: 30). The maximum roll rate at sea level is 275 deg. per second. During a roll turn, the aircraft doesn't loose altitude at all. Regarding acceleration performance, the aircraft accelerates from take off point to 500 kts in 25 seconds, at 14.000 feet from 515 to 645 kts in 20 sec. , at 36.000 ft with 2 Magic, 50% fuel from Mach 0.9 to Mach 1.85 in 2 minutes. (1:13:30) The aircraft can launch only 1 Super 530D missile at a time, and the target must be illuminated from the radar until the impact. It has a range of 20km at low altitudes, double of that at medium and High altitudes, and can hit a target that flies 30000ft above the launching aircraft (1: 14:00) The RDM will detect a 5m² RCS fighter-sized target out to 45 nm using a search pattern of 120° in azimuth, at 54 nm with a 60° pattern in azimuth, dropping to 20 nmi in pulse-Doppler look-down modeI The minimum take off distance at sea level pressure with 2 Magic's is 500 m and the correspondive minimum landing distance is 610 m The anti - ship Exocet missile , when launched from 10.000m with high speed , has a range of 75 km, and a range of 40 - 45 km when launched below 15.000ft Edited September 8, 2015 by jaguara5

VincentLaw Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 (edited) Are you planning to release it in AFM or EFM? Thanks! As far as you are concerned it shouldn't make a difference. An EFM is what ED calls it when a 3rd party makes their own AFM. (I am oversimplifying a bit. An EFM can technically be made simple like an SFM or advanced like a PFM. It basically gives the developer the ability to do anything they want with the flight model.) Edited September 8, 2015 by VincentLaw [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
archer86 Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 it may have afm at first release but after long improvement updates may change it to pfm.

didilman Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 AFM , FPM , SFM I buy it no matter the price! But will pre-order is like FSX pre-order? We have a beta?
NeilWillis Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Razbam have just announced they'll be doing a pre-order offer soon.
Skjold Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Looking forward to details regarding the pre-order offer.

Thank you for the info. -Nick

As I said in a previous post: 2000C (RDM): Single seat with black nose, with nose pitot 2000C (RDI): Single seat with gray nose, with nose pitot 2000-5 (RDY): Single seat with gray nose, without nose pitot The easiest difference to spot is the 2000-5 does not have a pitot tube on the the nose. The pitot looks like a needle. I circled it in this picture: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Thank you for the info. -Nick AFM, AFM+, PFM are all EFM, unless they are done by ED, in that case, they are whatever they are :P. EFM simply means External Flight Model, and how 3rd party developer programmed it / how much data was available to them. Personally, while I'd prefer ideally all to be PFM level, I would be absolutely fine with a well done AFM level too, so long as it's not SFM I'm ok. Wishlist: F-4E Block 53 +, MiG-27K, Su-17M3 or M4, AH-1F or W circa 80s or early 90s, J35 Draken, Kfir C7, Mirage III/V DCS-Dismounts Script

7rooper Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 In previous posts it has been said that it'll be AFM. Now the real question is: Will it be ASM with a fully clickable cockpit? joey45 Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 It should be. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.
