It has delta wings, in DCS World it is new system. Whole plane is new and give fresh wind. You would puke seeing only F-15, MiG-29, Su-27 all the time.

And as unique for French military it goes faster forward ;)

Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D

So, what will be Mirage' strongpoints/advantages relative to other DCS aircraft? Speed? Maneuvrability?

Its biggest strongpoint is, it is the first Jetfighter/multirole fighter of western design, that is modeled to DCS standard (F-15C is FC3 no clickable cockpit, A-10C is an attack plane).

It is a good match and adversary to the Mig-21, and it is the first plane on DCS level that has a fly-by-wire system and delta wing design with unique maneuverability... and it looks nice! ;)

Actually it DID answer question one! Yes, there is a campaign. And on a logical approach it should be obvious that it will be for the free Caucasus map included in DCS World...

You can't force people to buy Nevada, just to fly the Campaign that is part of the product, without at least putting a sticky note?

No actually it did NOT answer my question. I did not ask whether there will be a campaign, that much is obvious, I asked whether the initial release will contain the campaign. The open beta release that is expected in December. That is not clear from the statement at all.

As for the second part, sure it might be obvious that the included campaign is on the Black Sea map, but it's not implicitly stated which is why I asked.

P.S. As there are so many 'sensitive' souls on the forum, please don't misunderstand me. This is not a complaint, I would just like to know so I can make an informed purchase.

Anyone know what kind of avionics it will have? MFD's? How many? (I know the older pits had just 1, while newer ones have 3)

As jojo said, look at the screenshots provided ;)

2000C is the "older" one.

Will it have datalink and some kind of tactical display HSD/TADS like the A-10C/F-16 ?

No datalink nor TADS either. It's 1980s technology ;)

Could you clarify on what you understand as an "initial release", please?

From normal terms there will be a pre-release (beta), an initial/first release and a possibility for a re-release?

So the Mirage should come with a campaign on initial release, after beta is done... :smartass:

The dev's have said it will be able to carry the Exocet.

they did, but its not in the release of the weapons list, so i wouldn't presume it will be there on release.

Intel i9-9900K 32GB DDR4, RTX 2080tiftw3, Windows 10, 1tb 970 M2, TM Warthog, 4k 144hz HDR g-sync.

This aircraft is specialised in air-to-air and as far as I know, doesn't carry air-to-surface missiles

domini99 has it right.

Devs are considering implementing the weapons (even if not really realistic) but my understanding is that no decision has been made yet.

(and I'm not sure it's a good idea to mix avionics/radars from distinct variants)

I agree with that. Even if it's cool to have more payload, at the end, if there is a mix we will not know what variant we really have in game. If they want to add other payload which are specific to a variant, i would rather pay for that specific version which will be more realistic.

Don't mean to be harsh here . as I have already pre ordered.

I look at the texture detail in the cockpit textures and don't necessarily see the high standard that has been prevalent on the likes of the Hawk , C101 and even the Mig-15 which are some of the most recent modules.

I hope I'm mistaken but I cant but help feel I'm looking at an upgraded FSX clone/port, I know its not but i do get that impression. Some of the cockpit framework looks a little plain and some of the LED on the dash and Hud look a little plain.

Please this is just my opinion and I really do hope that this is not the case. Hopefully I will be quite well corrected.

As was stated, this is to be released in December. Cut the guys some slack Jimbo! When you have it installed is the time to start to make remarks, and even then, if you don't have anything better to add than it doesn't look as good as XXXX then maybe you'd be better off saying how they ought to improve it rather than just knocking it.

This is exactly the criticism that led to a breakdown in communications with VEAO.

Stop it, please!

Ah OK, so I will enter the realm oft pure speculation based on an educated guess! This is no official or by any means valid statement. Just my thoughts.

As the Beta Release (pre-order) is likely to see some changes to the EFM, may be need tweaks and fixes to systems, a campaign may need tweaking and adjusting after those changes.

I guess IF we see a campaign in the Beta release at all, it might be "beta" as well and need adjustment until the module is final.

I remember the performance tweak of the Huey, broke some missions (e.g. Mt. Elbrus rescue)... So last minute adjustments COULD affect the campaign missions.

Again, just speculation from some facts on my side.

May be Zeus or anyone from Razbam can answer that?

For crying out loud NeilWillis grow up , it wasn't a complaint...! , as I said I have already purchased.

I was just stating what I had seen and how other people might have some insight into why it looks that way .

Thank you Manuel 108 for a constructive and educated response, I wasn't aware of that , thank you.

Oh and I do have something better to add

NeilWillis You are actually dealing out the disseminating criticism that causes a breakdown in Forum critique , now you can "Stop It ". Sheesh !!
