Aginor Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Could anyone who saw it just write a short report please? When the stream is active I'm usually either at work or otherwise busy. So a quick summary (also make screenshots if you see something cool!!!) would be appreciated. :) Still better than no news. Thanks Rudel! DCSW weapons cheat sheet speed cheat sheet

badger66 Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I just seen a pic of the cockpit . Centre top there is a kinda note pad . Would it be possible for a player to edit this prior take off ..... like with relevant info for his flight ?
Aginor Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 That would be most awesome. I miss the editable notepad/checklists they had in the MS Combat Flight Simulator. DCSW weapons cheat sheet speed cheat sheet

Would it be possible for a player to edit this prior take off ..... like with relevant info for his flight ? Are you referring to the paper that is taped to the gunsight? If so-- you can always open the relevant texture and edit it. We do have a blank version of that (right now there is a handy conversion of imperial - metric written on it). There are three other "placards" with notes taped on. These are all located on one PSD for easy editing. Right now they contain a variety of info (ARK stations etc.) We have also implemented a normal "kneeboard" which is sitting on the pilots' thigh. It has a realtime map, and all the other images that come with the other ED aircraft (+ any you'd stick in the KNEEBOARD folder). This is the one you'd adjust by clicking, changing the image. (ok I deleted that link as this might be inappropriate, but it's all ralfi's fault anyway) Would be possible to implement this click-to-switch-image function to that centre notepad badger66 was talking about? This way we could have more custom textures with various information and change them on-the-fly instead of changing textures manually. But I guess it would be too much work for such feature... Cobra847 Posted March 13, 2014 Author Posted March 13, 2014 I'm sure this has been discussed, but will there be a body of a pilot that you can toggle? Planned, but may be patched in. Nicholas Dackard Founder & Lead Artist Heatblur Simulations https://www.facebook.com/heatblur/
Cmelakobecny Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Where is the new site? Where Are The New Videos? What will delay the release? It's just a few things that you promised supplement as soon as possible. Yet there is silence. It seems to me that you do not even present. I doubt that there will Mig21 in the first half of 2014.

Based on what exactly? How about you calm down and let them work. It's hardly been two weeks since they promised all of that stuff. If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.
JaNk0 Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Stop assuming things Cmelakobecny, just let them do their work and wait patiently just like the rest of us. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Nobody96 Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Right now I assume, there is a really big issue with the ED development code they base their code on . All projects are short on news and ED is silent to. Hopefully the don't resolve the stuff quick and dirty by patching everything up but prevent the current issues from happening in the future (read unit-tests and ci) -Mathias My System: Intel Core i7-4770K, Asus ROG Strix RX480 O8G, 24GB Ram

Silence? Please do take a stroll through this thread and count the number of replies by myself or -Rudel-. You may also find it interesting to drop into the Weapons thread where Dolphin has been providing info on the weapons systems. The new site is still in progress. It is not a top priority yet -- we have a lot of work to finish. Videos are with the next update. Feel free to doubt. 1 Nicholas Dackard Founder & Lead Artist Heatblur Simulations https://www.facebook.com/heatblur/

outlawal2 Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Personally, I take the lack of news from ED as well as all of the 3rd party developers to be somewhat reassuring actually... Looking at things rationally, why would EVERYONE be silent? (Barring any ridiculous thoughts of the world coming to an end) The only reason that everyone would be silent is if there is something that affects each and every one of them... More supposition on my part, but I would guess that they are VERY close to releasing EDGE and every one of them are rolling up any updates either into the version update that includes EDGE or are waiting for EDGE to be finalized and stable enough to push forward with whatever they are working on.. Also, NONE of us know how ED and the 3rd party devs work together so it isn't inconceivable that if ED was near the point of rolling out EDGE that if they had unforeseen issues at the 11th. hour, they MAY ask the 3rd party devs to step in and give them a hand clearing up these issues. Obviously, it is in everyone's interest to clear up any issues and get EDGE completed... I predict that once EDGE has been released and stabilized we will get a FLURRY of communication from abslutely EVERYONE... "Pride is a poor substitute for intelligence." RAMBO

But what I don't get is, that none of them (i.e. ED and BST and perhaps RRG; I assume they "share" devs and artists rather liberally) even shows up at the forums at all, not even to take part in harmless conversations as they used to do before. Maybe a general radio silence was ordered ... to avoid getting into distress to have to answer specific questions that might suddenly pop up ...? :o)
