ED Team NineLine Posted March 15, 2014 ED Team Posted March 15, 2014 Would it kill luthier to give regular weekend updates like other professional developers? I am happy with his consistency on updates, at this stage of the process. I think the issue that bothers me, and others is that the updates dont always address the real burning questions, things that are past due based on the Kickstarter.... kazereal Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Would it kill luthier to give regular weekend updates like other professional developers? If the choices are between actual development work and weeked updates I'd prefer actual development still.. :D Sure, it would be nice to hear about progress more regularly but something has to give when there is a lot to do. Either way, I'll be happy with current update rate but even happier when we get to actually fly those planes ;) "I would have written a shorter post, but I did not have the time."

Considering EDGE has not been released yet I'm not surprised that tools aren't yet available either.. Especially if the new graphics engine needs/wants different map format or similar changes. ED Team NineLine Posted March 17, 2014 ED Team Posted March 17, 2014 Yes, the SDK is out of his control as far as I understand it... I wouldnt expect a public release version until after EDGE has been released, but that is my guess... Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**

Grim_Smiles Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Would it kill luthier to give regular weekend updates like other professional developers? For as early as they are in development, I think the frequency of the updates isn't bad, until they have at least one plane loaded and flying in DCS I think there isn't a ton to tell us for a weekly update. Biggest problem with the updates is just the lack of word on some of the issues that need to be addressed. Now if the updates are still this same frequency later in development, then I'd start to worry. "Hurled headlong flaming from the ethereal sky; With hideous ruin and combustion down; To bottomless perdition, there to dwell; In adamantine chains and penal fire" (RIG info is outdated, will update at some point) i5 @3.7GHz (OC to 4.1), 16GB DDR3, Nvidia GTX 970 4GB, TrackIR 5 & TrackClip Pro, TM Warthog HOTAS, VKB T-Rudder Mk.IV, Razer Blackshark Headset, Obutto Ozone

Biggest problem with the updates is just the lack of word on some of the issues that need to be addressed. Now if the updates are still this same frequency later in development, then I'd start to worry. I see where you're coming from, but my main issue has to do with what they promised on the kickstarter campaign. For example, SDK was said to be released by the end of the year so that we could have maps ready by the time DCS: WWII was released. Now, I know some of the limitations with this comment. I realize EDGE wasn't even integrated in DCS: World at the time, and is still be integrated now. BUT I want to hear that form the guy who promised the SDK in the first place, not everyone else. I want to hear from the guy who promised constant communication, a social media manager, an SDK, etc etc, why those things have not been done or aren't happening. Part of the reason I pledged was not because of DCS: WWII, but to get some more inside information on the progress of EDGE, and to help support Eagle Dynamics in general. People don't stick to their promises, I guess with such a small market it seems to happen more here than anywhere else I've seen. Sure there are setbacks, but KNOWING that going in, means you don't promise what you can't deliver, it's as simple as that. Hopefully the questions from this thread will get addressed at least. Thank you again for putting them together. Intel i5-2500k @ 4.4GHz w/ H70 liquid cooler, ASRock PRO3-M Z68 Mobo, 32G 1600Mhz Mushkin RAM, EVGA GTX970 4GB , OCZ Agility 3 128g SSD, SanDisk 240g SSD, Win7 64-bit --Twitch: http://www.twitch.tv/livingfood --
ED Team NineLine Posted March 17, 2014 ED Team Posted March 17, 2014 Part of the reason I pledged was not because of DCS: WWII, but to get some more inside information on the progress of EDGE, and to help support Eagle Dynamics in general. Well, I hate to break it to you, but if EDGE is the only reason you supported the kickstarter then you mis-fired. The SDK, while a nice little bonus, even if it would have only been a partial tool set (no exporter ability) was just that, a nice little bonus. The SDK is not in his control, at the time he was speaking on the timeline that Wags was speaking of as well, and that has changed as we all can see. ETA of EDGE is unknown right now, so the public version of the tools get be some ways off at this point. While I am disappointed that many people have unanswered questions about many points of the KS, the SDK really isnt on him. it really come down to a delay in development. We cant hold him responsible for everything... its unfair to, no matter how upset you might be about this or that. i dont blame anyone for the delay in the SDK, its just how it goes... it is what it is.
