ED Team NineLine Posted March 28, 2014 ED Team Posted March 28, 2014 Hmmm, with the news of improvements to ground combat, how about a DCS level Tiger II. Of course that also means I hope for Combined Arms WWII as well ;) Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
Charly_Owl Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Multi-Crew B-17 in multiplayer bombing missions!!! (with airfields in UK, of course) It would make bomber missions absolutely epic. I mean it. If we can get even close to the degree of immersion Cliffs of Dover provides while flying big wings... my mind would just be absolutely blown. 1 Chuck's DCS Tutorial Library Chuck's Guides on Mudspike Chuck's Youtube Channel Chuck's Patreon

Merlin-27 Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Personally, I think search & rescue aircraft that could recover downed pilots would be huge. It would involve pilots that don't enjoy the combat element and would really add to the immersion. gavagai Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 My short wishlist: -"Smart scaling" like Falcon4 so that aircraft do not disappear at short range. -Campaigns should be flyable single-player or cooperatively. -Ability for your buddy to take over an AI aircraft that is already in flight in your campaign mission. -A mission editor with a reasonable learning curve (the one for DCS World is great). -Allow users to create and import as many maps as they wish with the SDK. 1 P-51D | Fw 190D-9 | Bf 109K-4 | Spitfire Mk IX | P-47D | WW2 assets pack | F-86 | Mig-15 | Mig-21 | Mirage 2000C | A-10C II | F-5E | F-16 | F/A-18 | Ka-50 | Combined Arms | FC3 | Nevada | Normandy | Straight of Hormuz | Syria

Whiplash Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 I realize this is a huge pipe dream, but going along with what Sith said, I have always dreamed about the day we could have a 1st person shooter/combined arms type simulator/flight simulator all in one. Basically Something like the ARMA series but WWII ED style with realistic flight models. I played the WWII add-on for ARMA II a little and while I didn't have much interest in being a foot solder or tank operator, I had lot of fun flying in a P-51D responding to air strikes called in by real people on the ground. Even though the flight model of the mustang was below arcade status. I think it would also be cool if you had to bail out and find your way back to friendly troops or a rescue plane which could kind of follow what Merlin was saying. Basically I want a big virtual sandbox set in WWII. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "Adulthood is like looking both ways before you cross the street and then getting hit by an airplane." Merlin-27 Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Being able to choose and save favorite servers and possibly a friends list to keep track of where your friends are currently flying would be a valuable addition to the current experience. Merlin-27 Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Oh another "wish" that comes to mind would be an effective and easy way to manage custom skins. The current method leaves a lot to be desired especially when running a public server. Maybe an automated prompt to allow the client to download the custom skins from a specific server? rubblebeam Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 How about better smoke effects. Better Flame effects, Better explosion effects. Better effects in general. I find the whole of the DCS effects sorely lacking and something that needs to be updated. Maybe with the new graphics engine that can be accomplished. Good Grief

Harakou Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 DCS: Enterprise. Pick any version you want. Some helicopters would be cool too. Why not a P-80 or Meteor? The P-80 was never used in WWII, and the Meteor similarly only saw use against the V-1 buzz bombs and targets on the ground. It wouldn't be accurate to have them fight the 262, and though I wouldn't mind a few "what if" scenarios that pit them against each other, I'd rather see actual historical scenarios prioritized. Besides, Tempest! :D
