SDsc0rch Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 just posted this evening to the "DCS A10C Warthog" FB page 1 - def cool 2 - why?? besides being super cool, WHY do you think they would put such valuable (and limited) man-hours in to this level of detail on this aspect of the aircraft? what do you think this could mean for the future of DCS?? i7-4790K | Asus Sabertooth Z97 MkI | 16Gb DDR3 | EVGA GTX 980 | TM Warthog | MFG Crosswind | Panasonic TC-58AX800U [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
dooom Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 very cool - but hard to speculate what they actually "put into" it. they may have just animated some of the a/c to show off te 3d modelling already there? sebas1977 Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 the best part about it, is that is has the markings of the 32FS from Soesterberg, Netherlands. (1954-1994)

Devrim Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 Something odd; we have very dark shadow in DCS like this?? Pepec9124 Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 What if someone knows how to control args and just that ? I'm sure current model is detailed as I was landing without nose few times.
Iberian Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 When the aircraft repairs, other players in the session are able to see the panels opening and closing as the repair is finishing, but not the pilot himself. I've noticed it more in the A-10s. And when an AI aircraft lands and parks, I often see it be fitted with covers on intakes and exhausts, remove before flight tags fitted, and ladders attached. I've noticed this in various aircraft in DCS. (IL-76, L-39, MiG-29 to name a few) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
SDsc0rch Posted June 21, 2014 Author Posted June 21, 2014 !!! nice! i7-4790K | Asus Sabertooth Z97 MkI | 16Gb DDR3 | EVGA GTX 980 | TM Warthog | MFG Crosswind | Panasonic TC-58AX800U [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Exorcet Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 Hasn't there been an A-10 model like this forever? In one of the A-10 training missions at Batumi there is an A-10 with open panels, etc, I'm pretty sure. Awaiting: DCS F-15C Win 10 i5-9600KF 4.6 GHz 64 GB RAM RTX2080Ti 11GB -- Win 7 64 i5-6600K 3.6 GHz 32 GB RAM GTX970 4GB -- A-10C, F-5E, Su-27, F-15C, F-14B, F-16C missions in User Files
Witchking Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 That would be pretty cool, although functionally pointless feature. I guess if they animate correctly to open panels and nice little missile skids raising missiles to the wings, it would be a nice feature to see that another player is actually performing maintenance on his aircraft. 1 WHISPR | Intel I7 5930K | Nvidia GTX980 4GB GDDR5 | 16GB DDR4 | Intel 730 series 512GB SSD | Thrustmaster WARTHOG | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR4 pro | |A-10C|BS2 |CA|P-51 MUSTANG|UH-1H HUEY|MI-8 MTV2 |FC3|F5E|M2000C|AJS-37|FW190|BF 109K|Mig21|A-10:SSC,EWC|L-39|NEVADA|
Blaze Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 (edited) TOMCATZ F-15 model, still in LOM format from the look of it. No shiny glass, and the very dark shadow means it's not an EDM model. This is the actual DCS F-15C model with panels open. Click for full-res. Click for full-res. Click for full-res. Also... :D Click for full-res. SUBS17 Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 That's cool it adds to immersion to have aircraft with panels open on the ramp. Can this be done to a static aircraft placing it on the ramp open like that? [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]
ANGST Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Now if we just had an animated ground crew :) That's definitely the one thing that would make the world seem more real , but still beyond performance limits of the engine / current processors to implement.

This :) Even if it was just simple car with missiles driving towards you with some generic animations looking like they are repairing your plane. :) Go in close, and when you think you are too close, go in closer.
