ED Team NineLine Posted June 26, 2014 ED Team Share Posted June 26, 2014 May I suggest.... http://www.pcgamer.com/2014/06/25/rock-simulator-2014-rolls-out-on-steam-greenlight/ Which is fine, we're all (mostly?) reasonable people, but there needs to be something for both sides for this not to go sour, what the sweet spot is exactly, is for ED to figure out. So until then, we wait. I think I'll just go play Train Simulator 2014 for a while.....:pilotfly: Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**

upupandaway
Wags said they would do their best to honour the Kickstarter. But I think most sensible people can see it was ill conceived from the start... I expect change, but we need to wait for official word, all this is assumption based right now. Absolutely agree, but I just noticed today how convoluted this whole system actually was and still is despite the "matrix". My concern is not to get the absolute most out of this from ED, but to find some form of compensation that actually makes some sense and doesn´t seem as arbitrary. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Deedle, deedle! Witchking
3 modules given away to 2500 backers, not to anyone and everyone. We're talking about a full value of roughly 375k - 2500 * 3 * 50 (if each module's full price was $50 and if each of the 2500 backers bought three modules at full price). Even with taking into account everyone with 6 planes or more, the total 'outfall' isn't more than a million dollars. I doubt ED only planned to sell a million worth of planes from THREE modules (let alone six), and I highly doubt that the number of potential customers for WW2 planes is as low as 2500 (more like 100.000). What I'm trying to say is: honoring 2500 pledges is peanuts compared to the full potential this line of products has. But 3 is only the minimum. There is upto 6 flyables that they "have to" give away for the pledge of $40. So double your calculation at the least. Regd. 100,000 customers.. I think you are mistaken. Flight sims aren't that huge and given the fact that ED does such regular sales of at least 50-60%, most people who didn't back the projects with a >$40 investment will wait for those sales. Yes, they will lose faith in kickstarter campaigns for DCS products. But thats fine, at least it won't make them go deeply down in the negative if they indeed honour the complete kickstarter pledge. The logical solution here is to refund, deal with the anger of a few backers, but continue to release their products at the current more reasonable price points of $40 or $50 an aircraft. Once again...lets wait and see what the official decision is. Flycat
That's assuming ED decides to continue with the KS rewards promised by RRG. They may turn around and say "Guys we can't do all six for $40 we'll go out of business, you get only one flyable for $40 along with the map". While as a backer I'm hoping ED is able to take on the KS reward obligations, to be honest I can't blame them for saying "Sorry that was someone else's promise not ours". agree this, only 40$ is really difficult to finish 6 aircraft addon and even get other 2 reward. if they relize that before, maybe luither didn't leave the team. the product is perfect :smartass: ,but in business they fail. :( however,I hope ED and 3rd part team could be more powerful and built more perfect product.

xaoslaad
Part of the disaster is that people were speculating on exactly what half the rewards entitled us to even when the kickstarter was running. There were unending requests for Ilya to clarify even then and he saw no need to do that. This is my selection. What this basically says to me is that I should get each aircraft as it becomes available, since I have no faith whatsoever in seeing anything in an Alpha or Beta state any more. I got a P-51D key already. I'm a little unclear as to whether I should get a second since I have DCS WWII: P-51D and DCS WORLD: P-51. Same for the FW.190. But I'd easily let go of debating seconds if I could just get my aircraft as they're released (or even sooner per the alpha access...). I just want to be able to fly the released aircraft without waiting until mid next year after it's all out. That's about as opposite of Alpha access as you could not hope for. From Wags' post, one would think that everyone at $40 or above is getting a Dora serial number for DCS:World, regardless of whether you have selected it among your 'rewards'. If that's so, then having Dora DCS:W as a reward is redundant (if I'm getting it anyway), and I might change my reward selection to something else... :) I'll wait for the official update though. Ah, well maybe I spoke too soon lol. I see what you mean about it being redundant for reward selection if that turns out to be the case. I get three reward slots and the only things I really cared about was the Dora and printed manuals for both Dora and K4, so that's what I've selected. At the moment I know I'm definitely getting the Dora if it is selected as a reward so one out of three isn't bad, and hopefully soon we'll eventually find out whether the manuals will come or not. However, if it turns out we still get the DCS World Dora in August for selecting it as a flyable rather than only as a reward, I might replace my Dora rewards selection for a P-47 manual for when I fly on allied side. That's of course if ED does decide to do printed manuals - if not I personally am okay with just getting them printed myself. I guess we'll see in the July update whether he means $40+ flyables list or just those who backed to the level to get the Dora. Or he might rewrite the previous statement to clarify that. NRG-Vampire
Its too bad its been so poorly handled here ^ i dont think we should worry about that i need to mentions there were only 3 "bad taste" project David Kinney with F-35 BeczL with the MiG-21bis and Ilya with this DCSWWII but as we see two of those projects still alive and hopefully will be successful unfortunately Kinney Interactive did not reach the goal however im pretty sure ED and Wags believed in that F-35 project - me too so i hope we will see more kickstarter and indiegogo project in the future and later developers (ED as well) will know better what and how to offer, how to support (by ED) and how to react if problems appear i believe everything will be more clear in the future solving these problems maybe we will see more developer teams in the future such as aerosoft, a2a, etc. maybe iris will be back as well with the tomcat  by the way: do you think guys Kinney should start again a DCS: F-35 crowdfounding campaign ? maybe next time they will reach the goal (id like to see F-35 too in dcsw)

komemiute
I'm just slightly worried as nothing has been said about those pledgers for less than 40$ bucks such as myself. I have a wife and two kids. I just can't go around and give money like it's not mine. I could afford 20, I was promised four flyables. That I chose via a specific software and that were accepted. I'm not going to stomp my feet and start pretending, but I want to be treated fairly and not as a thief. Who prepared the reward system knew the risks.
