Esac_mirmidon Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 So it´s reasonable to expect a release with 1.3.0, leaving aside 1.2.8? " You must think in russian.." Stratos Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Wow mate!! What a cockpit!! Thanks to the team for creating this beautiful plane!! I don't understand anything in russian except Davai Davai!
starsky396 Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 How much of the 21s cockpit is currently translated to English? The screenshot and the video show that only some of the cockpit is English.
alfredo_laredo Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Great Video!! The only think that bothers me its why not apply breaks before retracting the landing gear? A.K.A. Timon -117th- in game
spyro23 Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Nice Video! I've noticed that gunsight camera sometimes during video is present somtimes is not. Does it mean that we gonna have option to switch it on and off (like for example mirrors)? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
mjmorrow Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Wow! Excellent. When I get the Mig-21, I can look at this video and I will be able to commit the start up procedure to memory. I really appreciate videos, like this one, because I learn better through seeing something done, though example, than through reading a manual. The Mig-21 looks outstanding. Thank you for making this great video! [sIGPIC]http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv250/mjmorrow76/SPAD%20of%20a%20new%20generation_zpshcbftpce.png[/sIGPIC]
Lord Cochrane Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 So many random matrix references today....... This has to mean something lol Follow the white rabbit is an 'Alice in Wonderland' reference.
cichlidfan Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Follow the white rabbit is an 'Alice in Wonderland' reference. *ahem* In The Matrix, there are several metaphysical "waking up" metaphors that reference the Wonderland stories. Early in the film, Neo is told to follow the "White Rabbit" and seconds later, his doorbell rings, and when he opens the door he finds a woman with a tattoo of a white rabbit on her shoulder. Later in the film, Morpheus offers him the "red pill" to "find out just how deep the rabbit hole goes". Right before he meets the oracle one can see Night of the Lepus playing on a nearby television, symbolizing Neo's decision to "follow the white rabbit" and to disturb the order of the Matrix. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Rabbit ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! Cobra847 Posted July 7, 2014 Author Posted July 7, 2014 How much of the 21s cockpit is currently translated to English? The screenshot and the video show that only some of the cockpit is English. All of it is; but I've been gradually upgrading the texture work here and there, and this requires a re-merging of the English text into the new artwork. Thus; the critical stuff is currently English, but the gauges and some of the smaller panels have original Russian text. Nice Video! I've noticed that gunsight camera sometimes during video is present somtimes is not. Does it mean that we gonna have option to switch it on and off (like for example mirrors)? I turn it on during the video. It's when I turn on all the avionics on the right sidepanel after the engine is on. The guncamera is one of the bottom switches on that panel. It impedes visibility, so most of you will likely opt to have it off. :) Nicholas Dackard Founder & Lead Artist Heatblur Simulations https://www.facebook.com/heatblur/
Call911 Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 (edited) Dunno much about the mig21 ac but when it's on takeoff, the gun site(pipper) appears to spin/rotate is that a ground effect element for the pipper or somthing else? Radar-gun que? In the video it happens @ 4:03/4-...during takeoff. Edited July 7, 2014 by Call911
Cobra847 Posted July 7, 2014 Author Posted July 7, 2014 Dunno much about the mig21 ac but when it's in the air the gun site(pipper) appears to spin/rotate is that a ground effect element for the pipper or somthing else? Radar-gun que? The ASP Pipper is only moving when I'm on my take-off roll (you can see it expanding and contracting when hitting bumps). This is because the video is spliced together from a few different takes; and in that particular one I had it set to a different mode. The ASP has several different modes for assisting you in ground attack or air attack. The "fixed net" that is visible all the time (and which I brighten in the beginning) is just a normal fixed gunsight projection which does not move (It appears to move a little because I'm moving my head in the air). Cobra847 Posted July 7, 2014 Author Posted July 7, 2014 Narator in movies and training tracks are a plus... at least "marketing wise"... What are you doing looks complicated for newcomers and instead of attracting them might set them away. I will buy DCS Mig-21Bis and looking at the video with just muted "clicka-clicka" is somehow frustrating... I think for general newbie into DCS could be a reason not to watch the whole movie... given a bit off ADD is added to the mix. Also... 3D pilot body (optional)? cough cough... oculus riftus? :P I think, in hindsight, you are correct. The next ones will be narrated however, as otherwise it'd be difficult to explain what is going on. :) Pilot in cockpit is in the works; but it requires a lot of work (sculpting, baking, animation) -- so it's not a priority yet. You will see it patched in at some point. Nicholas Dackard Founder & Lead Artist Heatblur Simulations https://www.facebook.com/heatblur/

flankerzrj Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Cobra, thank you for the update. But,I would like to know why there is no release date? Could you tell me some reasons? Waiting for test?waiting for 1.3.0?debugs?or even the project hasn`t finished? Always you said, there is some new problems, more time is needed. But,when can the mig-21bis be done?a month or 2?when can I see "DCS:Mig-21bis is released"in the topic of "official updates"?
