hi to all,

I always wondered, or had just these effects.

A mod, after effect software, or new ED effects?

You have the answer?

If you're talking about the fire effect, yes that's strange, because it's 1st time I've seen it in this video.

That's all in-game, it was in the build I was using when recording those shots.

^ do you remember which version was that ?

or maybe was that an unreleased "beta only for the testers" version ?

iirc that happened with the new improved water effect in 1.2.1 - that was available only for few days until the next "hotfix" patch arrived which used again the old water effect :(

aaaahhh, coool, good to know :bounce:

thanks for the heads up Norm

by the way, that new improved water effect was not an fps killer (on my rig)

the only one problem was the missing "raindrops on the water effect" without those concentric circles on the surface

which hopefully already/will be implemented in edge

That is similar to show on Fw-190 Teaser, the fire / Smoke was different.

You’re comparing a large and significantly heavier aircraft with drastically different wing construction / loading.

Well the scale is different but the principle stays the same. Beside you should clearly see it when stalling for exemple.

Even in f-18 video you see some jigles in the wings which are approximatly the same size to an su-27

In the dcs video, they only appear quite limited when pulling a lot of Gs

There is also the fact the some effects are limited by the current engine... we dont know, it might expand with better modelling of turbulence...

Dude, if you change the scale you cannot complain. The Flankers wing is much smaller, of different construction, and almost certainly made of different materials. The principal is only the same in the sense that some amount of wing flex should occur. However, that video doesn nothing to show that the current model isnt accurate.

They will return with EDGE. I think many effects were too much for the old engine...

Best thing I've read all day.
