Fast way: RUSSIAN COCKPIT with ENG tooltips

Forget about below

 

For those who WANTS to experience this:

 

1. locate MiG21_Cockpit.zip file under MiG-21bis/texture

then unzip this file, cut all dds files (rus texture)

 

 

2. enter MiG-21bis/Liveries/MiG-21_CP folder

backup english folder as english.bak

then delete all dds files in english

and paste those unzipped dds files from MiG-21bis/texture to here

 

 

3. rename the rus texture dds file according to the eng texture files

(only difference is ENG texture files have 'E' before the appendix name '.dds' for some files, if for '***_N.dds', no need to rename them)

And no need to edit the description.lua I think.

 

 

Then in the game option, choose ENG cockpit Lang.

 

Finally, I think you can have RU cockpit w/ ENG tooltip. It should work.

Same here. So I changed it back and clicked the option for English instead of Russian.

The other way may take more time, but does less damage ;)

Hmmm...must be that the program is refusing to read the files after I edit them then, because the game still doesn't work when I change it back to country = "RU". Although it works everytime I uninstall and reinstall :/

Is there anyway to remove the metric conversion to imperial chart on the gunsite? I guess it comes in handy when you use US awacs but it s easy enough to use russian awacs and read the subtitles.

If you want the same Russian Cockpit but with english warning and caution lights extract-copy-paste this files

into:

 

DCS World/Mods/Aircraft/Mig-21Bis/Textures/Mig-21_cockpit.rar
