Hey guys just tallied up how much I've spent on DCS. Tallying up my rig and other upgrades and addons so I can play DCS how i want to and it comes to bout NZD $4300!!!!:)

So guys whats your damage?????

Posted (edited)

I'm on around AUD $900 spent on all of LOMAC/DCS so far just in modules alone :)

(this is over many years - since 2005, and its still money well spent, well not according to my family & gf, but I don't care what they think about my hobby)

Oh and, its much higher to include all the hardware :D

Let's just hope your wives don't reads this then!

I have spent - Oh at least £100, possibly a little more! But I do have every module available, and my computer is very good.

Amazing how cheaply you can do this really isn't it!

I also play lots of different games besides DCS (which is barely a game, but for this instance let's consider it as one :) )

But bought seperately for DCS:

Warthog HOTAS - €300,-

CH Pedals - €70,-

Thrustmaster MFD's - €70,-

TrackIR - €100,-

DCS Modules - I own all of them, including Black Shark 1. So that would be roughly €400,-

Grand total:

€940,- (~US $1200,-)

Which are btw €940,- very well spend and without any regrets :D

in NZD? I'd guess about $500 on DCS titles alone, and I do not even want to think about how much all the hardware I have costs.... but as we say... того стоит :D

Haha :)

I'm not good in giving fatherly advice, but I assume it's time to take a break from the sim when your baby or future baby cries for 'Waaaaaaaaaaaahaaaaggss' :D

You can not put a price on joy and happiness, which this sim has brought me over the years.

That's what I keep telling the wife, and so far she is falling for it, no need to worry her with figures :)

Congratulations Fraser, I hope everything goes well, and you have a healthy bouncing baby. I can't help thinking however your priorities are about to change drastically :)

Yep, every penny spent without any doubts at all.

In fact, I guess I have spend around £3,500 altogether. New powerful games machine built for around £2000. Hardware such as Warthog, Pedals, TrackIR, 4 new monitors, stands, leads etc, 2 headsets (one worn out already), MFCDs, joystick extension.

I have of course got all the modules so far available, and every intention of buying all that are released in the future too.

And to cap it all, I am about to start building my cockpit.

But yes, worth every penny.

Be careful when testing how "bouncy" the baby is...:D

Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing

If I had to guess, including hardware I have replaced, at least $5000.

EDIT: This doesn't count anything before I built a dedicated flight sim box.

When i add up the cost of my laptop, my t-flight hotas, and all the modules i've gotten (all bought on sale from steam) i've spent $1238.95. I'm hoping to get a better stick+throttle and track IR in the future. Man this is an expensive hobby I've gotten myself into! I need a job...:(:helpsmilie:

A-10C = 50$

F-15C = 25$

Su-25 = 15$

Ka-50 = 40$

MiG-21 = 30$ (backer)

P-51 = 10$ (sale)

X52 Pro = 125$

TrackIR 4 + Clip = 150$

Pretty expensive hobby. I hardly even fly the P-51, F-15 or Su-25.
