I've read the change log for 1.2.11 and was really happy about the fixes for the MiG-21. Some of the listed fixes aren't really clear to me though and I would like to know what exactly happened there.

Drastically altered afterburner fuel consumption.
Altered? How? Increased or decreased?

Fixed Compressed Air usage
What was the problem here?

Attempted to alleviate sim freezing on aircraft start/initialization
Attempted? Did it not work or is it just unclear if it works and needs some testing by the players? If it works, does that also mean other players in MP won't get freezes anymore if someone hops in a MiG-21?

Fixed various issues with the AC bus
Which issues?

It would be really nice if a dev or someone else who knows can answer those questions.

Anyways, thanks for the good work, I really appreciate it. Those fixes where really needed to make an already awesome module even better.

Also I would like to know if they fixed the high altitude performance problems. Also the fact that rearming the plane causes something that changes the flight dynamics

Yeah, those two fixes are really needed as well.

I'm a bit worried about not seeing any note about Radio Compass, which sadly, got bugged somewhat after previous patch (NDB operations).

The entire fuel consumption table was thrown out for AB engine modes and re-done to more accurately represent fuel consumption when flying with AB.

What was the problem here?

Can't recall, Novak would have to clarify. I believe it was gauge and total air availability related.

Meaning this issue can have several underlying causes and we've likely fixed at least some of them.

Potentially all. Requires further observation and monitoring before we can consider it fully fixed.

Which issues?

Beyond my expertise.

Afterburner fuel consumption? I always had the impression that something's wrong with the idle fuel consumption, just never mentioned it just because I absolutely have no numbers to compare with... it eats ~500l in like 3-5 minutes. As I begin my takeoff roll, my CLT is more than half empty, I start to call this one "taxi tank" already :)

We will see back numbers on the fuselage?

Any news about new skins?

I noticed this as well. That by just after takeoff I am down to half center tank. I believe most of the burn is from AB usage on takeoff. I try to limit AB it as much as possible but on short runways there's no choice. Jato would help a lot as well but I want to have my chaff/flare

I was able to hold mach 0.92 with 100% thrust at 10km altitude, payload was two R-60 and Kh-66. Also the plane is less twitchy during TO and landing, two-point landings work quite well now.

Don't have the data for Bis version, but MF one equipped with R11F engine was burning ~360 l per minute during takeoff with afterburner, so "our" MiG might actually be on optimistic side :D. I never payed attention to fuel usage during idle and taxying ops, though, might be worth checking out.

Beta version of the patch - yes. Final version - not yet.

Thanks for the comment. That sounds good. Those Kh-66 aren't light in weight, and probably not to friendly with drag either.

Hopeful I can cruise at 40,000 feet with 4 a/a missiles. Gotta test it now :pilotfly:

With the Steam version you select the "openbeta" in the "BETAS" tab of the game 'Properties' and the Standard 1.2.10 is patched to 1.2.11 open beta.

AFAIK the standalone Open Beta is a separate download and install from ED.

https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/dcs_world_open_beta/

Having separate installs is good, in that it allows you to test the beta while keeping a second stable copy/version for MP compatibility.

Hi, guys!

I'm a little hesitant about trying out the DCS world 1.2.11 beta. Should I try out the DCS world 1.2.11 beta into the DCS world 1.2.10 stable release or should I wait until the DCS world 1.2.11 is released? Does any of you have the DCS world 1.2.11 beta installed over the DCS world 1.2.10 stable? I would like to be able to fly at very high altitude in the Mig-21bis without any oxygen issues! Thanks!

Cheers,

Vincent

Hello Leathernek, great news,

This bug will be fix ?

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=132770

Few little problem texture at distant LOD will be fix ?

Of course very important: New skins will be available ?

And because I'm dreamer: The template will be available ?

Leathernek, once again congratulation for your awesome job !!!

A great thanks in advance, Skull.

Does the FM still change after rearm? Or did they accidentally fix it? For me the most annoying bug at the moment due to the fast paced a2g missions I fly with a friend...

Thanks Cobra for all the answers so far. Can you give us some details about the reworked fuel consumption of the AB?

On my current PC I only installed the beta almost a year ago without ever installing the stable version on this machine. It works fine and I have no problems with it, even MP works just fine (does that mean most public servers also run on beta versions?).

It's fixed. And there was no FM problem after rearm. Just check Cone switch ;)

Well there was and maybe still is. And ofc we checked the cone switch.

We did side-by-side testing and concluded that the 'fresh' plane with identical loadout was able to easily pull away from the rearmed plane (note the effect gets worse after multiple rearms). Also top speed changes. On approach it is noticeable by a higher AOA than normal. Please check the bug report thread.

Especially now that we RTB more often even after a2a missions this bug is really irritating us.

I can only confirm this and hope it will get fixed soon.
