Home Fries Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Because it wasn't wrapped, just taped up box, covered in pictures of tanks and aircraft, there was absolutely no way I could get it past the wife as anything other than what it was intended for. I got mine as a gift, so the Mrs was well aware of the contents. That said, Andre still strategically placed the customs labels over anything that went boom on the box cover! :megalol: -Home Fries My DCS Files and Skins My DCS TARGET Profile for Cougar or Warthog and MFDs F-14B LANTIRN Guide

f4l0 Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Yes, really cool! Yesterday a took a quick look at some gear movements effects. I think I'll rewrite several of them, in that way, that e.g. the door lock/unlock is also modeled. I guess I'll start with the 109 and 190 this evening... f4l0 Developer of Simshaker for Aviators Feel the brrrrttt: [Official] SimShaker for Aviators Forums thread at ED forums SimShaker for Aviators (simshaker-for-aviators.github.io)

elliott82 Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Well, after reading all the positive posts in this thread about the Gametrix KW-908, I decided to ask Andre if could hook me with one. People have said it before in this thread, but he really is faster than any webshop :). After I sent him a PM asking if he could help me, he replied within the hour, I then wired the money though paypal and I had a track and trace code tracking the package just hours after my very first PM :D. The Gametrix KW-908 arrived yesterday, just five days after Andre sent it (it had to go to the Netherlands). I was lucky, costums didn't inspect the parcel so I didn't have to pay any additional taxes. Hooking it up to the computer is really just a matter of plugging in the USB, downloading and installing the software from Andre's site and off you go! :pilotfly:. It really adds a new dimension to the game. During a landing you can first feel a slight rumble as your gears come down, and a 'click' like feelng when they lock in place. Then the airplane shakes a bit as the flaps come down, and you feel the airplane starting to shudder if your approach is too slow. Then finally you can feel the plane touching down. What starts out as a constant rumbling as you speed down the landing strip becomes a clear - bump - bump - bump- as you slow down while going over the concrete tiles of the landing strip. Oh, and not to forget the feeling you get when a sneaky AAA tears off half your wing and you're trying to recover... Not only can you see you're in deep doo doo, you can now feel it too ;). I recommend it, and compliments to Andre for an incredible service! Hey, can you tell how the difference is compared to a buttkicker? I really want to feel that A-10 Brrrrrt :D A-10C Increased Panel Text Size for VR https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=172910
hannibal Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 (edited) i was concerned about how it works with the oculus CV1 headphones (YES, I WANT TO USE THE BUILT IN HEADPHONES) because of the whole inability of oculus to split audio destinations. im two steps from ordering, but i just have one question; Can i use Jetseat with a buttkicker, and also the Oculus Rift CV1 built in headphones? Poly_Roie mentioned that CV1 built in headphones work OK with jetseat, i like to know if buttkicker with an amplifier can work in addition to the CV1 headphones & jetseat.. Shouldn't be a problem as long as you have a dedicated soundcard for the BK. (although Poly_Roie confirms that you can run a buttkicker with the built-in headset.. im yet to see him do that in his videos, because he uses separate headphones, and not the rift's built in headphones) just like to know if anyone that has the CV1 rift, buttkicker (or any shaker connect via amp/sound card) is ALL working together including the jetseat... please confirm, "it should" doesnt mean it will.. I implemented a (experimental) option to allow both Seat and BK to work simultaneously. Also you can adjust the effect strength separately. Edit: you can see a current version of the gui here: Edit2: The seat works with USB thus it can not interfere with your headphones. The Soundmodule requires a separate Soundcard or a true independent sound channel Edited April 27, 2016 by f4l0 f4l0 Developer of Simshaker for Aviators Feel the brrrrttt: [Official] SimShaker for Aviators Forums thread at ED forums SimShaker for Aviators (simshaker-for-aviators.github.io)

Vivoune Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Forgive my laziness as I don't feel like reading through the 90 pages currently (I will) but has anyone compared the KW-908 to a Buttkicker (while both being used through SimShaker)? Obviously the KW-908 will feel better compared to a stock Buttkicker run by simple audio output. Are the KW-908 motors independent or do they all vibrate together? Can you feel the motors's positions and them being motors or are they diffused throughout the chair to recreate an immersive experience? I'd love to hear more about it and how it compares to say a Buttkicker Gamer 2. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

I'd love to hear more about it and how it compares to say a Buttkicker Gamer 2. To answer some of your questions: No, the motors vibrate independently depending on the programed effect. Yes, you can feel them in there various locations. The only caveat to that, from my own experience, is I don't noticeably feel any difference between the front and rear motors under my bum, but that might just be my sitting position. I would say it's a definite step up from the buttkicker but mainly because of the Simshaker software that specifically targets different events in the sim, wheels, flaps etc. Simshaker is also potentially it's weakest point as it is entirely dependent on some fella, out there, on the internet and what he feels like doing, or not and which games he invests his time in. I haven't tried the Audio only method of input but I expect it works very much like the BK except that the Gameseat more directly shakes YOU, like a massage, rather than shaking the chair through which you feel it's effects. This to my mind is quieter, although it does still make a noise, so is far more household friendly. I don't expect audio input would differentiate between different motors, either they're on or off, but I might be wrong.

Damocles Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Hey, how about the punch? I assume a buttkicker can deliver a harder thump. I wanna feel that BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT I think, because the vibration is directly felt through the seat cushion rather than through the chair, that the BK is attached to, then the BRRRRRRRRRRT is more than adequate. Not, maybe the full punch of a BK at full power but still very satisfying. Ill just add that I haven't adjusted any of the effects strength sliders, all of which are 50%, so presumably if I wanted more punch for certain effects, or less, I could do that in the Simshaker software .
