T_A Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 (edited) DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst Available for Download The Fighter Collection and Eagle Dynamics are pleased to announce that the DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürstbeta is now available for download from the DCS E-Shop Like previous DCS World titles, DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst features a painstakingly reproduced model of the aircraft, including the external model, fully interactive cockpit, mechanical systems, and a Professional Flight Model (PFM). Along the lines of our DCS: P-51D Mustang and DCS: Fw 190 D-9 Dora titles, DCS: Bf 109K-4 Kurfürst places you behind the controls of a powerful, propeller-driven, piston engine combat aircraft. Designed long before “fly-by-wire” technology was available to assist thepilot in flight control or smart bombs and beyond visual range missiles were developed to engage targets with precision from afar, the Kurfürst is a personal and exhilarating challenge to master. Powerful and deadly, the last production model of the only single-engined German fighter to see service throughout World War II, the Kurfürst provides an exhilarating combat experience to its drivers, and a worthy challenge to all fans of DCS: P-51D Mustang. Key Features of the DCS: Bf 109 K-4: Unmatched flight physics that allow you to truly feel what it's like to fly this legend. Highly detailed, six-degrees-of-freedom (6 DOF) cockpit. Interact with cockpit controls with your mouse. Accurate Bf 109 K-4 model, squadron markings, and weapons. Detailed modelling the Bf 109 K-4 instruments, weapons, engine, radios, fuel, and electrical systems. Fly along with fellow DCS: Fw 190 D-9 Doras as you battle DCS: P-51D Mustangs in single and multiplayer games. DCS World 2 Status Work continues on DCS World 2 with progress on file structure, clouds and other effects, changes to the front-end GUI, and of course improvements to performance. We are still striving for a late-December 2014 release, but if debugging takes longer than we hope, it is possible that the release could be pushed to January/February 2015. As always, stated dates and timeframes are our best estimates and not promises. Nevada Test and Training Range (NTTR) and Strait of Hormuz Map Status Our map team is solely focused on the NTTR map right now. As mentioned in the last newsletter, the team has been having to do a lot of work adapting terrain textures and shadows since the map assets were moved from the terrainviewer tool to DCS World 2. How the terrainviewer tool and the DCS World handle light and shadows is quite different and made the NTTR map in DCS World look an odd yellow hue. In this way, the NTTR map has certainly been a test-bed for us using the new maps tools. While this andother map issues are being worked on, our map 3D modelers have had the time to add Las Vegas McCarren International airport. If time allows, we also hope to also add Tonopah Air Force Base (located in the northwest corner of the rand and it would provide great CONTANT PEG missions). In parallel, we are also working on RED FLAG campaigns for both the F-15C and A-10C in cooperation with the author Steve Davies and pilots that have flown multiple RED FLAGs. After the NTTR map is complete, the team will return to the Strait of Hormuz map. 3rd Party Single Player Campaign DLC Much as we are doing with 3rd party partner aircraft (and maps), we are developing a new copy protection system that will allow talented campaign builders to create and sell DCS campaigns through the DCS e-shop. As with DCS 3rd party aircraft and maps, each campaign will have to meet high quality standards and be part of an official license agreement with TFC/Eagle Dynamics. We see this as a great incentive for 3rd parties to help increase the amount of quality mission content. DCS: L-39 Albatros and DCS: MiG-15bis We have had to revise our production estimates on this project, and we now believe the project will be available in Q2 of 2015. By February 2015, we hope to provide you further updates. Development of the MiG-15bis has been going well but not fast enough to release a quality product by the end of December 2014. Rather than push it out too soon, we are going to keep it in the oven a bit longer and release it in the first quarter of 2015. VEAO Hawk Update The VEAO Simulations team have been busy getting the Hawk ready for release. This includes new training missions for general flight, basic and advanced navigation and weapons systems. The technical team have been busy integrating the Starforce copy protection system and are ironing out some bugs ready for release. The EFM (External Flight Model) is in steady development and will be ready for the VEAO testing team early in the New Year with access to the public in the Beta build Q2 2015. AvioDev DCS: C-101 Update The C-101EB model is the primary jet trainer and aerobatic display aircraft of choice for the Spanish Air Force, whilst the C-101CC model, with its 7 hardpoints and uprated engine, is a venerable light attack aircraft, seeing combat with the Honduras Air Force against drugs traffikers. With the two types sporting distinct yet similar cockpit layouts, combined with systems commonality, we anticipate there will be something for everyone in this package, from initial jet training and advanced aerobatics, to the light attack role. AvioDev have been hard at work completing the C-101EB and C-101CC versions. The EB model is complete, with the light attack version close behind. The AvioDev Technical Team comprises of type rated pilots and engineers, helping to ensure the highest possible accuracy and realism. AvioDev are striving for a January 2015 release. EFM version is scheduled for afterwards. Features of the EB and CC models include: Highly accurate systems simulation Complete electrical system modelling Complete circuit breaker simulation (all systems fail correctly) TARSYN gyro system replicated to exacting detail Accurate flight director system Custom air data simulation (airspeed indicators/altimeters behaviors, etc.) Custom navigation system simulation Complete fuel system modelling Complete hydraulic system modelling (SFM limitations apply) Flight controls/landing gear can sustain damage if poorly handled Accurate pressurization system (SFM limitations apply) Accurate oxygen system (SFM limitations apply) Icing model (SFM limitations apply) Fully adjustable cockpit and exterior lighting Additional features of the CC model include: HUD/Gun sight Complete weapons system modelling Custom ADF navigation radio system AoA indexer and AoA indicator Standby airspeed and altimeter incorporating unique physics Radio altimeter Advanced flight director system Change to the User End License Agreement (EULA) The following change has been made to the EULA: 5. T_A Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 (edited) Screenshot in the email are usually small , Wags usually posts the newsletter with large screenshots on the forum a few hours or next day after newsletter is sent. As I expected... ED is not releasing EDGE without NTTR. What's the point really... That is not stated in the email , also from what i understand NTTR is basically ready and the team is just doing tweaks to it. EDGE on the other hand (again from what i understand) is also pretty much ready just needing some tidying up of the files to make it release ready (and at the same time also tweaking some stuff also) Edited December 4, 2014 by T_A IAF.Tomer My Rig: Core i7 6700K + Corsair Hydro H100i GTX Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 7,G.Skill 32GB DDR4 3000Mhz Gigabyte GTX 980 OC Samsung 840EVO 250GB + 3xCrucial 275GB in RAID 0 (1500 MB/s) Asus MG279Q | TM Warthog + Saitek Combat Pedals + TrackIR 5 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

WolfK33 Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 (edited) As glad as I am that there´s still hope for 2.0 this year, as disappointed I am about the probable delay of the L-39. Not because of the bird itself but because IIRC it will bring "multicrew" with it, the feature I´m waiting for the most, even more than Edge. I was also hoping for a bit of new info about the Hornet, but all in all a good Newsletter.# edit: Oh, and great news abaout the additional airfields on the NTTR map. I´m glad that the statement "and this will not change" about the number of airfields was subject to change, just as everything is, lol Edited December 4, 2014 by WolfK33

WolfK33 Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Yes, but if the L-39 brings this feature there will be at least one bird with multicrew, which is better than none, and as I understand it it will be the first one with this feature, so no multicrew for any aircraft before the L-39 has it. If I understood correctly.
