FlyingHighAU Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Being a paid campaign, I'm assuming that it comes with some kind of security code or check of some kind - therefore Could someone please confirm whether these missions can be edited to include additional players so that they can be played in multiplayer? e.g. I want to add in 1-3 additional Su-27 to make these missions coop. (I know triggers and such might not work correctly, but I'm fine with that.) It's fine if all players need to purchase the campaign of course.
fixen Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 if you would be able to change the missions, you would be able to redistribute them. So no, you can't edit them. I would like to see co-op too though
will- Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 only 3 activation's? Im really worried about that. I have a lot of modules and i have wasted activation's on updates before which i believe to be out of my control... Does ED have a good faith in re applying said key if all used? or is it a buy again, sorry you are out of luck? Yes i am aware you can deactivate... but like i said "stuff happens". and i think on my a10c module alone i may have 4 or 5 left >.> Intel i9-9900K 32GB DDR4, RTX 2080tiftw3, Windows 10, 1tb 970 M2, TM Warthog, 4k 144hz HDR g-sync.
lanmancz Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 (edited) English subtitles only is a problem. Exactly. I would like to ask ED to consider providing 2 versions of such projects in future, one with english voiceover and one with whatever native voiceover. I would buy only the english ones. This is a reason why I dont play russian campaigns very much - because I don't understand anything and have to read the subtitles all the time. :( - Russian and English localizations. Voice-overs are recorded in Russian. In the English localization the voices are provided with English subtitles. kontiuka Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 English subtitles only is a problem. As long as it's not in the heat of battle, it shouldn't be too bad. And as long as they're displayed for a enough time. But, sure, Russian-accented English voice overs would be preferable.
ED Team NineLine Posted January 9, 2015 ED Team Posted January 9, 2015 +1 I do agree, I would love to have the Russian accent English voice overs BUT I sort of get it. I dont think it can all be done in the same Campaign, so you have to create missions and campaigns for each language, I can see where that would take the creation and maintaining time through the roof... aaron886 Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Guys, I appreciate that some might not see the value, and some might, but we dont need to hear about it. If you want to buy it, if you dont... dont. But lets keep this thread for discussions about the campaign, and any issues you might experience with it. Thanks... Fair enough. I don't think supressing negative feedback will help, but if this isn't an acceptable place for feedback, I won't continue.

I don't think supressing negative feedback will help, but if this isn't an acceptable place for feedback, I won't continue. Reviewing the campaign is fine, but we dont need to hear the reason why you dont want to buy it, as we dont need to hear peoples reason for buying it, so dont try and turn this into me trying to quiet your negative feedback, I have deleted "I am not buying" posts and I have deleted "I am buying posts"... If you still cant understand why these types of opinions dont help anyone, please feel free to PM me, but dont clog up this thread with it anymore. Thanks. Witchking Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 I honestly think its fantastic that we are seeing a new wave of content for DCS. Its great that DCS has reached that level to warrant releasing such addons. Not to put down some of the FSX stuff, but some of that stuff is insanely expensive. $10 for a 20+ mission campaign is awesome. A nice way for ED/third parties to release aircraft at cheaper price (you seriously think $10 is sufficient to foot the bill for creating the FC3 level Su-27...model/FM/avionics?) This concept of offering stuff in pieces is the best way to give choice to the consumer in what to get. Our support in buying "quality" products that are released by ED will not go un-noticed and help ED in their roadmap for DCS. We can't always say that everything is worth $5... I have tried making a mission in DCS...the amount of time it takes to make anything ...especially when you can't see the unit positioning properly etc...is insane. $10 is a steal and I am sure if something like this was released for FSX...it would be atleast $30 or so. Bourrinopathe Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 (edited) More Su-27 in my Su-27! A Su-27 new complex campaign with russian voice over was an insta-buy for me. I'm really happy ED produced this kind of content. Of course, I have no idea about the quality yet, but I'm confident ED would release a high standard content. No problem whatsoever in the buying process: DCS website --> E-Shop --> buy/payment --> launch DCS --> Module Manager --> the installation popup suggests I download the campaign --> DONE and ready to play. It weights 44.7Mb. I won't have the time to play it until a week or two at best, but my Su-27 thanks you immensely! Additionnaly, I think the shop would benefit from some screenshots, even if it's difficult without spoiling the content. May be the first briefing pictures and descriptions ? MadDog-IC Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 I do agree, I would love to have the Russian accent English voice overs I can see where that would take the creation and maintaining time through the roof... I agree about the time involved, I am busy just fixing up all the original A-10c campaigns that come with DCSW, and that takes ages, so I can imagine the time that goes into making missions from scratch, I can't do it, so I do my bit by trying to keep existing missions running as they should. Besides, It's more realistic to have the communication in Russian. Perhaps for DCS 2.0, ED should consider a new format of displaying text on the screen. More like movie subtitles at the bottom? with an option to view the whole message in a log in the briefing/options menu upon pausing mission. Either way, I am glad we got this. I remember when FC first came out, because of the localization issues, ED only included a particular Su25T campaign with videos in the Russian version but not the English version. Its nice that they have released this to everyone. In fact I dont have a problem watching a foreign movie with English substitles either. Although, it would be nice if the text were to be displayed in a nicer format. Currently radio communication is very hard to read (especially if you use it for mission dialog). Having it on the bottom with a slightly transparent box around it would make things much easier to see and read. Bourrinopathe Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 (edited) Learning a language is a long process (unless you're gifted). For the Su-27, you could just learn a few words to catch the important orders without reading the subtitles (too much). For example: copy, target, group, engage, etc. (and some numbers). Nevertheless, it would be near impossible to catch that kind of conversation with only a few words: (from the campaign teaser) I hope there will be several exchanges like this one in the campaign. It adds a very welcome human dimension to the typical military jargon. (and I think I would never have bought the campaign if it had been voiced in english ;) ) Edited January 9, 2015 by Bourrinopathe /// ВКБ: GF Pro MkII+MCG Pro/GF MkII+SCG L/Black Mamba MkIII/Gladiator/T-Rudder MkII | X-55 Rhino throttle/Saitek Throttle Quadrant | OpenTrack+UTC /// ZULU +4 /// /// "THE T3ASE": i9 9900K | 64 GB DDR4 | RTX 2080ti OC | 2 TB NVMe SSDs, 1 TB SATA SSD, 12 TB HDDs | Gigabyte DESIGNARE mobo ///

sUrge0n Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 But i'm disappointed it has only 3 activations. As a longtime fan of the mapleflag missions, I can tell that I needed more than 3 activations to get everything back and running again. I think ED can do a better job in this one, especially now they work with the guys of MapleFlag.
