baltic_dragon Posted May 8, 2015 Author Posted May 8, 2015 Don't think it is - mostly technical - quality of briefings, lack of maps, typos in comms and quality of some of the sound files. Actually I agree with ED it could have been better in some places. we shall see with the new campaign :) keep your fingers crossed! For more information, please visit my website. Boomer_QLD Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Hi, I fly regularly with a flight sim group, 62nd Fighting Falcons in Australia. We are always looking for good multiplayer missions, and often fly different roles/Aircraft in them. I have recently downloaded this campaign and liked it a lot. I was wondering if you have had any requests for, or have thought about doing MP versions of this or future releases?
baltic_dragon Posted May 9, 2015 Author Posted May 9, 2015 Hi Boomer_QLD, I had quite a lot of requests, but the problem with Enemy Within is that there is quite a lot o random chatter between player and AI wingmen, which is an immersion killer in MP. Having said that, I do have three missions converted to MP which I will happily share. Also, I have a almost finished full scale MP mission with 10 different taskings and lots of secondary targets, called "Operation Crimson Dawn". I didn't release it yet due to a radio transmission bug in DCS, but I would be more than happy to send it to you for beta-testing, it is fully playable now (up to six players, A10-C). PM me your e-mail if you are interested. For more information, please visit my website. Kimi_uy Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 OMG, i just finished op Hammerfall Pt. 3 and oh dude, twas awesome. now this might be a spolier: Hving to fight the weather was really a nice touch! It sucks though that neither the TGP nor the Mavs pierced through the cloud base, i had to get down and dirty. I when I reached the AO, I couldn't figure out how to acquire targets, so I took a leap of faith into the montains though the cloud base... i had to get a really good look in the topography of the map in the TAD before i tipped in, and I can't tell you the awesome adrenaline rush I had in that dive! Thanks Baltic_Dragon, I'm enjoying the hell outta this! [sIGPIC]][/sIGPIC] Fuel Planning Tool | DCS: A-10C SADL MOD | Kimi's Arma 3 Mods | Twitch.tv
_Spad_ Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 This campaign is awesome... I only have around 35hrs of flight time in the A-10C so Op Hammerfall Pt. 3 was a massive challenge for me - but I succeeded eventually! The immersion factor of your campaign is second to none. I like how realistic each mission is. I think that's what makes it so good. I hope you come up with something just as good for DCS: F/A 18C when it's released!
baltic_dragon Posted May 18, 2015 Author Posted May 18, 2015 Thanks for nice words guysl I am currently working on another campaign for A-10, but F18 and F14 are on my 'to get and learn' list :) For more information, please visit my website. redterror Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Just wanted to toss my feedback so far: Hammerfall 3 - a nice improvement from the first version. That one was tough, but this one is tougher! Well done. "Scramble" - a simple, but excellent mission, with a few surprises in store. Props for taking the idea to the logical result: a plane ... configured... as it is. :)
blackasdf Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Hello, i'm currently on mission 3 of this beautiful campaing and i'm having an issue, after i start up the aircraft i get on both MFCDs the little white box with the message "NO SPI" and then after i clear it with tms left the message "DSMS INVNT CMBT". I can see all my weapons loaded on their station from outside view, but for the dsms it's like i'm empty. Can anyone help please? i can't believe i'm missing this amazing campaign! Thank you
baltic_dragon Posted May 24, 2015 Author Posted May 24, 2015 Have you tried to reload the INV (do the 'load all" command once again)? This should fix the problem, I don't think it is mission specific unless recent patch messed something up. For more information, please visit my website. Thanks for making this campaign, i didnt have a chance to experience the real action since i'm stuck on number 3, but i can say that is really involving since mission 1. Great great job, i love it!
baltic_dragon Posted May 24, 2015 Author Posted May 24, 2015 OK, let me know how it works - and if anyone had the same problem, please post here. And I am glad you are enjoying the missions so far! blackasdf Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 OK, let me know how it works - and if anyone had the same problem, please post here. And I am glad you are enjoying the missions so far! Allright, solution to my problem first. Simply restarting the campaign wasn't enough, i had to rename the campaign folder and start it from scratch, mission 3 started without any problem, dsms page is fully loaded with the correct weapons. I _think_ it could be something related to the logbook but i can't be sure. I just completed mission 3, man what a blast! I'm not gonna spoil anything, it was great fun and you really feel that you're fullfilling the CAS role. The "theater" of the encounter is also great, challenging but not too hard (i'm relatively new to the A10), thinking about the right angle for ingress and egress, best position for TGP line of sight etc etc... Simply awesome and also great practice! Just one more thing, having wind information LASTE ready in the briefing is the icing on the cake, i didnt want to waste my only GBU so i went for MK82 in CCRP from high altitude hoping to get some splash damage... bomb release, timer start, 3...2...1.. BOOM! Dead center! So satisfying! Thanks again for making this!
baltic_dragon Posted May 25, 2015 Author Posted May 25, 2015 What can I say.. Keep posts like this coming! feefifofum Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Heya Baltic...I've finally gotten my butt into the Charlie pit and just wanted to add a few more nice words in here. So far I've really been enjoying this, A-G is a totally new experience for me, especially with this degree of fidelity, and you've done a really nice job of easing the player into things. Every time I've hit an obstacle, it's just been a quick pause and a few seconds in the manual and I'm back doing what I need to be doing. The branching dialogue in the first flight was fun, I'd thought about trying to do something like that myself but then decided it was going to get too crazy too quickly. Glad to see someone else forged ahead. :) I got to mission 3 last night (in one piece, even) and then got a little guns-happy and got myself into trouble. Looking forward to the next attempt and the rest of the campaign! THE GEORGIAN WAR - OFFICIAL F-15C DLC
baltic_dragon Posted May 26, 2015 Author Posted May 26, 2015 Thank you very much for this campaign. Very enjoyable. Glad you like it! Looking forward to the next attempt and the rest of the campaign! Hah, good to see you finally leaving the pointy-nose and getting into the Hog to fly low & slow :) Yes, I can imagine that the A-G is a totally different thing (having no A-A experience whatsoever) - and the whole idea of the campaign was to make it feel as a complete thing, starting slowly and then getting more and more immersed into action. The branching dialogue was meant to be in other missions as well, but then I saw how much more work it requires and the final effect will never be 100% satisfactory (after all, people flying those missions will have 100 other questions or answers they would like to see). But at least it makes the first mission different. Have fun with other missions, there are quite a few more demanding ones (Op Hammerfall 3 being the most difficult I guess) and - not too spoil too much - you will get one mission with A-A action, so you should feel almost at home there! Can't promise I will start learning how to fly F-15 anytime soon, but if I do I'll definitely check your campaign! For those that may not be aware, you can get a preview of all 18 mission briefings HERE. A very nice page and great job by Blooze, who helped me a lot with sound - both recording of about half of Overlord quotes and providing nice background noises used throughout the campaign. Thanks! blackasdf Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Hey, it's me again :P I wanted to give a little update and also share with you my satisfaction in completing Hammerfall 3 on my second try! This was really intense, on the first attempt i crashed into a mountain after one pass near the target area... On the second try i found the right path for getting targets with tgp and unleashed the power of JDAMs and Mavericks. It was really hard, until you discover that clouds are not the enemy! I have a little question that i hope you can help me with, i searched the web but i couldnt find a good answer, as i said in my posts before, i'm new to the A10C, started playing a couple of weeks ago. Here it is... I'm running in for my first JDAM run on the SA9, target mark is spot on, the release cue on the reticle start moving, azimuth line is perfectly aligned, i hold pickle and suddenly i get this message: "IAM Launch Aborted". The GBU is now in some "rejected" state and i can no longer use it. I get some distance, turn around, select another GBU and this time the drop is succesfull, 15 seconds and hit, dead center, target destroyed. Do you have a clue how did that happen? The only answer i could found in the forums is a joystick problem, but that's not the case here. My warthog works perfectly. To end, this was the most intense mission i've ever flown, the amount of satisfaction that u get after you are told to RTB is immense, and this mission shows that you really know what you are doing developing these missions, not because of the difficulty, but because hammerfall 1 and 2 were a sort of training for hammerfall 3. I was already very very happy with this campaign, now i'm really impressed. This should be THE official campaign for the A10C. Thank you again, and thanks to anyone that can help me with the problem i stated above, i also saved the track if it's needed.
baltic_dragon Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 Hey blackasdf, As for your question my guess is that you didn't hold the pickle button long enough, the symptoms are typical for that AFAIK. Glad you managed to get the second bomb on target. Somewhere in the manual there is also a procedure for clearing hung station, you should check it out for the future. Enjoy the rest of the campaign and post updates here! For more information, please visit my website. DracoLlasa Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Thanks for all the hard work, i have just started to enjoy the campaign, just getting into mission 3 or 4. I had a more general question. I haven't really done many story-line or campaign type missions sets, more just a few stand alone missions when im not practicing things. In general is it customary to try and only use the weapon load outs provided by the mission creator, and more specifically, is the intent with this, that we try and stick to the standard load outs? I ask because i found myself changing them on the first couple missions because i they are pretty specific about staying at 13K-15K or higher and at those altitudes the Mk 82 are wasteful either because im still not good with them or they are just not good at such altitudes. My understanding is that it is the latter, but this question isn't to debate the finer points of the munitions or my skills. So as a mission and campaign designer with such high caliber in quality and detail overall, do you take the time to setup load outs for the missions that you intend for us to use specifically? I started to feel like i may have been cheating a bit or something by straying from the default load out, figure i would get your take on it. anyway, so far i love the campaign, and look forward to my continued progression Thanks!! Yes, The weapons are usually tailored to the mission in order to make it more challenging / realistic. AFAIK Mk-82's are quite widely used and can be very lethal if you input the wind data into the CDU. Some loadouts are more generic, especially for patrol missions when you don't know what to expect. Still, I would advise to give all the missions a try with the default weapons and if you find it problematic to beat it, only then change the weapons. Mind that some missions require specific weapon (JDAM or Maverick) while one firces you to fly only with your gun. Baltic, This campaign would make great MP fun as well. Has anyone done this or know what I need to do to make it so it can be 2 player? I did it once and can upload the link, but it makes the campaign much easier (it is designed for SP) and less immersive (chat between player-wingmen). Still, many missions are fun to fly in MP mode. blackasdf Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Hey there, i've just completed the last mission, man that landing, almost broke the gear! It's been a fantastic journey and i feel a little sad, playing this campaign was like living an A10C movie, a very good one. I can't thank you enough for creating this amazing experience for us. I'll wait impatiently for the new campaign, maybe in dcs2 who knows... Hawg 1-1 out.

marluk Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Hi, I'm sorry if this is not right place for questions about missions, but I have problem with mission 'The Last Tank'. I've set up radios as always, in briefing is written that I must wait for Overlord to give me order to engage. I flew to the way point near the border and waited there for further orders from Overlord but nothing happens for a while. I have had correct radio setup because I was able to contact Overlord. Than I loose patience and destroyed all enemies I could find. I returned to the base but mission didn't finish. Did I miss something? I was on wrong location maybe?
