Who knows. Maybe Leatherneck are just messing with us, employing maskirovka doctrine.

Nah, just kidding. I already had strong suspicions of what it was going to be. There's no big surprise here, but that's not to say that there isn't any excitement. Of course I'm friggin excited about these modules! :)

What is the map for Viggen? :music_whistling:

Are we still getting them this year?

We don't know, so there might still be some surprise, but I'm going to make a guess, and say it's Gotland or some kind of Baltic map.

Iwo Jima though? Interesting choice for a map.....

Think about where the F4U series saw the most action during the Second World War. :pilotfly:

Reformers hate him! This one weird trick found by a bush pilot will make gunfighter obsessed old farts angry at your multi-role carrier deck line up!

Hmmm Ivo Jima. WWII Carrier operations? Stepping stone for LN's F14 carrier operations? Im liking what I hear here.

Current specs: Windows 10 Home 64bit, i5-9600K @ 3.7 Ghz, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB Samsung EVO 860 M.2 SSD, GAINWARD RTX2060 6GB, Oculus Rift S, MS FFB2 Sidewinder + Warthog Throttle Quadrant, Saitek Pro rudder pedals.

Iwo Jima will also be good for modern scenario!

A stand in for Senkaku islands or something.

Put PLAAN Su-33's on the repainted Kuznetov mod and US Hornets on Vinson and you have yourself a South East China Sea scenario!

But I don't think it means open beta for us soon. The only new things are the Viggen corsair and the map

Glad the suspense is gone now... By waiting too long LN has deprived itself of the opportunity to have their own announcement.

I love the MiG, but I have too many modules already I'm not proficient at that I'll leave these two be for the time being.. Just as the Mirage. I will be getting the F5, but that's more out of sentiment than anything else.

Well, either way im really happy about the choice of aircraft! I think both these aircraft will bring a huge amount of potential to both ground attack and the ww2 scenario (carriers.. oh yea..)

I just want a multirole.... guess the wait for the F14 and 18 continues.

AJS-37 Viggen.

So that means what?

Anti-ship, Sidewinders, Mavericks? What else? :D

In short:

Rb 04E (Anti ship missile)

Rb 15F (Anti ship missile, originaly developed for the Gripen)

Rb 05 (AG missile guided by a joystick in the cockpit. The missile could be fired instantly as soon as a target was spoted and automatically steered in front of the aircraft where the pilot could se it and visually guide it towards the target. It had a liquid fuel rocket engine that did not generate much smoke, and had a tracer element increasing it's visibility to the pilot. It's similar to the AGM-12 Bullpup)

Rb 75 (Maverick TV guided missile)

Raketkapsel m/70 (Rocket pods with 6 13.5cm rockets, up to 4 pods can be carried at once.)

Sprängbomb m/61 (120kg conventional bombs)

Bombkapsel 90 (cluster bomb)

Two external 30mm autocannon pods can be equiped for air to air engagements, as well as Rb 24 missiles (AIM-9 Sidewinder). I'm not sure of the specific version, i know the JA 37 carried the Aim-9L but i'm faily sure the AJS had an older variant, most likely a version of the AIM-9P-3 modified by SAAB designated the Rb 24J)

It doesn't have any internal countermeasures, instead it relies on external pods for this functionality just like the MiG-21bis.

According to the Reddit thread it was posted at first in a seperate thread which was deleted.. If that's true it would be really really petty of whoever had done that.
