Also can we add the SOP as a Link in the briefing with a note that people need to read it? Somebody joined and claimed he didn't need to follow rules(nukes!) because it wasn't linked in the briefing. :/

 

While he was rather slow about the whole thing, he had a small point that the rules/SOP maybe should be linked to directly for clarity sake.

I thought you could add or remove the types of weapons stocked at any given airfield? if this is an option then why stock the nuke?

 

Stability reasons, when editing aerodrome/FARP loads, it creates big tables in the mission file, And because we need to edit all of them the mission file gets quite big.

 

From our past experience, a big mission file is less stable.

 

Now that we have the mission stable and lag happens on specific occasions that we know about, we might try to change it for future rounds.

I appreciate your commitment, but it's not allowed to move units out of their objectives.

 

Ground command rules:

1. Can move only in first person.

2. Should not move ground units outside of objective.

3. Only dropped units from a chopper are allowed to be moved anywhere on the map, of course from first person only.

4. Moving ground units in concealed impossible to spot places such as under FARPs or inside buildings is not allowed.

 

Please relay to anyone you know who does this.

 

Rule four was broken, However i do believe this person has had a warning :thumbup:

Slot BLUE Mi-8MT - USA - SK_blue_Mi8 Senaki 11 - Transport is an Air Start btw, I also saw the SB-SK FARP only has KA-50's, on SK is only this Mi8 slot. Is that intentional or did maybe something get lost?

CA players confirmed that EWR's dont show on the map any contacts, and it makes them useless. AirCommanders gather information from aircraft radars. Check it please.

Т.е. появилась то она появилась и я ее даже включил.Но ничего не увидел ,так и дальше приходилось работать по БРЛС свистков.Ну а те куда посветят,то и покажет.

I changed Teams from Blue to Red. Because I was impressed of reds spirit that took Sochi and Mineralny Vody.

One Thing is for sure. There are more Blues at European time zone than Reds in NA time zone.

We really need to balance it.(maybe adding F15/Su27) for both Teams.

35 Reds vs 10 Blues is unfair but if all grab F 15, you guys can stop them.

The more unfair screenshot was 19 Blues vs 0 Reds. => BOT Farming.

With the team balancing I think that there are extremes, but I think it's a duration problem.

 

If I set this out in GMT, this is what I see, and I'd be curious to see what the server stats look like over Round 1 and 2 to back me up.

 

GMT 00:00 - 03:00: Around 25 blue and 12 red

GMT 03:00 - 06:00: Around 15 blue and 3 Red

GMT 06:00 - 09:00: Around 8 blue and 15 red

GMT 09:00 - 12:00: Around 5 blue and 20 red

GMT 12:00 - 15:00: Around 10 blue and 33 red

GMT 15:00 - 18:00: Around 15 blue and 30 red

GMT 18:00 - 21:00: Around 30 blue and 30 red

GMT 21:00 - 00:00: Around 25 blue and 25 red

 

This is just from what I've seen over the weeks of playing, I'd be really curious to see an admin compare the actual numbers.

 

What this means in practice and in my experience is that blue has a very small window to do a ton of damage. Last night in 3 hours I orchestrated an attack taking Guduata, Byzb, Kut-Nal Farp, Nalchik, Beslan, Vladakaz, Mozdok, Modzok-Min farp and Maykop. We did it with about 20 people and it was all very carefully timed.

 

As soon as the server restarted and we made our push on Kras, red had about 5 valiant flanker pilots on line at this time. It ground our push to a halt. We had around 10 F-15's to their 5 flankers, but due to the fact that flankers start with fuel, meaning they can instantly scramble out of Kras, giving the rest from Anapa time to fly over, the F-15's really struggled to provide CAP. This meant that we just about managed to take Kras C in 3 hours compared to the previous 3 hours.

 

How the flipside looks is that Red has a player dominance for a longer period of time, but no real time of zero resistance. They are then able to push and take back their local areas quickly due to the 250nmi flight that the blue has to make to try and defend, before pushing south. By the time they have taken back their Northern and Eastern bases and start their push on the south, there tends to be enough bluefor to slow the Western push down until Red runs out of time and it repeats.

 

I think that if Flankers started with 0% fuel like the F-15 does, last night would have gone very differently and Kras C, P and city would have fallen. That however is a different argument.

 

Gregg or Xcom able to provide any server stats for population over time?

instead of destroy unit which would mean to add that trigger for all 8 units inside a defending group we could have deactivate which would be simpler and also punish the offender side with loosing for 30 minutes all the ground units on the asset and basically be open to capture instantly.

 

also... a message to warn all that a troll is on the server is good :)

An its fun to coordinate 20 pilots to retake half the map without any one on the red side?

 

I preffer not to fly than fly against no one. I love the PvP concept of this lovely campaign but if i want to fight against bots i will use stock dcs campaigns.

Managing 20 players at once taking 4 objectives at the same time and getting all the timings to line up so as one falls we're in position to take another instantly after was quite fun, yes. The 30v30 fights don't really result in any base capturing, just big airquake until the population drops.

My best moments were fighting other blue human pilots over mountains, dodging missiles, hiding my chopper and learning tactics against real pilots.

 

This is why i defend the idea of a balanced numbers all the way down. By balanced i dont mean equal. Its a lot of fun to fight offensive when you are 2vs1 ratio and defensive when we are outnumbered the same ratio and captures and looses are very rewarding or painfully.

 

No offense in my comments. Not my intention. Is only that i'm a wildly defender of PvP concept.

Actually I think that the blue team is too good to only be fighting bots. ;)

 

For me, something that levelled the field a bit when the numbers are skewed too much in one direction would be fine.

Just wanted to point out to any one who does not check the player counts during the European evening times, to kindly remind people that Blue side does not get it all our own way!

This round we have been outnumbered everyday and have had to stand firm and hold the Red assault for hours on end until the teams become more even and we get the chance to attack!

 

Yes there are very few Reds past 00:00z, but we earn the right to attack with our American friends at night after defending all day!

It would be great if people could stop trying to put pressure on people to leave the server when there is no opposition. Why should people in America or night owls in Europe be locked out just because they don't fly during the European day time? This is not a EuroZone campaign, it is open to all.

 

The ways things are just now, I actually think it is pretty even despite the gains that BlueFor makes in the early hours. There are so many Reds on during the day that they take everything we capture at night. The past week has been a constant to and fro battle for the same bases, back and forward!

 

If it genuinely wasn't fair for Blue to be flying at night with low to no opposition, we would have won over a week ago.

 

Lets accept that these first rounds are going to have some teething issues, rather than people getting frustrated and walking away, we should all just enjoy it for what it is now.

 

If we are all honest, we have never seen anything like this in DCS before.... let's enjoy it together!

Hey all.

For the first round we kept in mind issues we faced on our events since 2014. From the feedback and meetings we changed some times during the 1st round and then presented a changelog for the second round.

 

Now we have a changelog for the 3rd round. From our records (stats , reports , feedback etc ) there is no need to change things during this round as it would cause only problems. If there was such an imbalanced issue we wouldn't fly so intense for 1 week.

 

Things like "The blue side has more powerfull missiles" etc are respected as opinions but it simple showed that it was never the case and both sides are having fun and play even.

Also about the numbers during EU nightzone there is a huge improvement if you see the actual numbers in our stats. Working on this more though and we will soon have some more results.

 

Noone will stay out and as everyone are able to have a nice time we simple won't change things regarding the way the server works.

We don't want to stop anyone from giving feedback or proposing ideas but it's not that easy :) There are many parameters that you didn't include and the reason is not cause you don't know about mission editing or so but because you didn't have the chance to deal with issues that comes up when you mix up things with the scripts we use and the editor.

 

Also there are many things that can solve some complaints but can cause worst like "an enemy ground commander got to our side moved all our units out of our zones and they are all destroyed" etc. About the ground units we also said before that the solution is being worked in another way (unmovable units).

 

We keep in mind all the feedback and change things in the way it can be done in the current template. We would be also happy if it was so easy :)

Greg thanks for reply. I understand the reasons now. Let's hope you find a solution. At least a script that makes the ground commander be identified and shouted in the chat as "offender" :) .

Some of blue guys was mad cozz i moved units on grnd and on other side blue guys done the same thing this night to me. Tnx guys i saw lot of activiti down there and it was so fun to play and kill on this way. :pilotfly:
