Still down.

I know its not the admins's fault but,

can I say I'm annoyed that every time I sit to play the server is offline :music_whistling:

Wow, such landing, much no gear, so slide...

Server is still down. 2349 EST...

I know server crashes happen but, a lot of western hemisphere players would love to play during our prime time. It's just a bit annoying.

Server crashed again just after we took Mozdok. :(

Hello. Thanks putting it up.

Can you tell us if you tried any specific or saw anything that could be related with the crash?

Also if anything that could be also same with the previous crash?

(e.g. anything with the transport script, specific slot, ground movement etc)

As this happened in the same occasions we may spot something that can cause it.

Thanks in advance

i already joined this last night, without being registered.. i saw it on the server browser and it looked interesting. i don't have any squadron or friends flying DCSworld, also no mic.. so i am probably useless for most other people playing .. i did enjoy flying a night sortie with my huey transporting troops to an airbase which was under attack tho :)

is it too late to still get registered? i would like to give it some more tries, transporting troops, etc.. was pretty exciting to see a whole lot of real pilots high up doing their thing, while i was in the eggbeater down there somewhere :)... MP name: deci

Hello. Yes registration is possible during the campaigns.

You can register here : http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=145416 and create also an account to our website for better information and coordination : http://buddyspike.enjin.com .

Teamspeak is not mandatory but you will see that it increases the level of the operations. If possible I recommend that you get a mic and enter your side's channels.

Welcome and I wish you safe landings :)

Hi Greg, its not a troop movement type one slideshow one, its the long arsed desync where you disconnect without knowing and the server stays connected and you end up with ping time out but before that for a minute you fly without chat and things don't quite act properly although its not completely dead. Like half disconnect. It's pretty weird. I'd GUESS it's desync breaking the game so it can't work out whats going on anymore and gives up. Gonna guess at too much ping timers from the US side, probably as the west coast comes online whilst europeans are still there.

Autoit is the only thing that coudl help here, as long as the DCS process crashes completely you can restart and click the buttons. It's inelegant and never foolproof but might save some sleep.

No what you explain above is happening when the server has already crashed (DCS not responding) but you can still see it online for some seconds. ;)

The server had really few crashes during EU night time when mostly US pilots are in so it's not related to pings etc. I know cause we didn't have to wake up :D

It only happened twice in this weekend so it may be random or something that happened during the capture of an airbase (transport script , enemy ground commander effort etc)

Aside from the early nights, which aren't always a bad thing :) the Blue team seems to be stepping up recently with comms, lots of good teamwork like in campagin 1. Daytime blufor is a bit meh though, very casual and disorganised. Red's rule the day. The 5pm-10pm fight is horrible, its really hard work, Reds are in full swing, Blue's just reeling mostly.

Slots have been hard to find on the server at peak, wouldnt mind another 10. I genuinely think if all things are equal and no silly pings/trooop moving it will handle a few more.

We capped three bases in 25 mins on the restart and the server went just before we were doing another. Didn't see any obvious reason for the crash. There was somethign weird, quite new that seems script related, in that on spawn, bases start closed and you can't use them for 20 mins until repaired. This closure affects slots, we couldnt use Sukhumi at restart. Maybe joining too fast?

CA players confirmed that EWR's dont show on the map any contacts, and it makes them useless. AirCommanders gather information from aircraft radars. Check it please.

Hi GUMAR,

First of all, these EWR units are old and slow rotating radar antennas, and have a limited range of around 15 nm.

Secondly you need to be very careful where you place them as they also have the LOS limitations, especially in areas where the horizon is just to the next hill.

Third and last, they do show up on the F-15 RWRs, so they do radiate, but if they forward their information to the CA clients I'm not 100% sure. If not then this is a DCS issue.

I think the best way to test this is to continue making helicopter sorties to deploy in areas where there is no radar coverage, and check the F10 map for positive returns in areas where you shoudn't be seeing anything if your side's Su-27s (or F-15s for the blue side) are not there.

Salute!

Slot BLUE Mi-8MT - USA - SK_blue_Mi8 Senaki 11 - Transport is an Air Start btw, I also saw the SB-SK FARP only has KA-50's, on SK is only this Mi8 slot. Is that intentional or did maybe something get lost?

+1 confirm on this.

SB-SK FARP only Ka-50s slots (no Huey and no Mi-8 slots).

Senaki-Kolkhi Mi-8 airstart also may be causing a bug in the lives counter, because no take off is registered, but if you land you get a life back.

Ah, that conspiracy theories!

BuddySpike admins - Only one rule will stop all lamentation and will be FAIR:

One life per 24hr.

Are you dead...? YES! So, bye bye and see you next day. Next time think about your flight and your team.

This rule will show the actual balance of power forever (actualy in 24hrs). All the rest are children's stories.

Falcon, you and your squad repeatedly shot down many of our fighters, helos and attackers last night near Sukumi. It was like taking off from Senaki and flying into a wall of R-27ETs near Sukumi...

On the flip-side this is an interesting proposal to reduce what we felt was a ruthless baby seal clubbing event :smilewink:

Salute! awesome flying by your squad yesterday!

Hello guys. Sorry but we won't ruin this event that everyone enjoy :)

You will be the first that will come back if you get killed by a DCS bug as we know that the stability is unfortunately not so good still and will start complainting about your life lost etc.

So ok you have some ideas but if these ideas will make this event the same as others that failed in the past sorry we won't follow them.

Changed the Ground commander slots to JTAC's in order to improve temporarily the movements until we present the solution in the 3rd round. It's definately something Ground commanders were doing and caused the latest crashes.

Server is getting back up.

Thanks all.
