And sometimes button/key assignments are deleted with a patch due to a change in iCommand that aren't caught until a mission is being played. Again, it's a "nice to have" feature that if available only during a host pause would be beneficial without causing issues.

Its just not possible right now, no amount of pleading will change that right now.

True, but I think I read somewhere that everything is subject to change :music_whistling:;)

New Options for setting rudder and aileron trim tabs in options menu

Man, who was the guy who kept saying that trim tabs weren't a thing and won't be added to the 109 in DCS? :)

I don't get this whole 'responsible pilot' argument. It popped up in the thread in wishlist section as well. I don't understand why to limit that option at all if there is a possibility of having it in game. The engine limitation is that the sim needs to be paused to change keys, fine, but if it's not too much trouble to implement I would for sure welcome the option to allow my friends to change their keys on my private server. Not that I personally need it as I have everything pretty much setup but it has happened to me many times that I started a game for my friends with a simple training mission to teach them DCS and it would be very useful if they were able to change keys, I wouldn't mind at all. That's the whole point of our MP session, to teach them and to help them set everything up. The thing is that new player does not know which keys he needs to map to his joystick and so on and I also don't remember everything to tell them in advance. So in the end it's more distracting to both of us when he needs to quit in order to change keys. I don't really see any other than a technical reason to not allow this.

That is but one point of MP. Many other people have different reasons to MP though.

I believe (just a guess, not an expert in this) it would be a huge architectural change to how they run their multiplayer simulations now. I believe the system today acts with a "trusted" client, and the lack of inputs from a client (e.g. alt-tab) causes wierd behaviors and glitching/jumping around. If they moved to an untrusted client, essentially they'd need a mini flight model on the server with real time updates to all clients, and force each client to adapt to the server's new position information continuously, as a response to control surface inputs sent. We'd lose a lot of the flight model detail if we did that, but we'd gain a more "fair" multiplayer environment.

Definitely possible, but a major change (I believe) from what I believe to be how they're running it today.

Good list of changes, just be sure to release it Wednesday afternoon and not before. Why? I have a math test on Wednesday morning. I don't need the distraction.:smilewink:

Or...release it before King Hrothgar's test and we will all promise not to play with it, until after his test is over. :smilewink:

That is one heck of a change log being added to. Must be some work going on to incorporate all these changes and updates together at once:thumbup:

Yeah, sure. That's why I wrote "if it's not too much trouble" and that "I would welcome it". And I guess that's enough OT for me for one day :music_whistling:;)

gosh all those questions about when it will be released.

We are lucky with such a patient guy like SiThSpAwN here answering that.

DCS world (and therefore EDGE) is for FREE so give them a break.

But the L-39 is coming with it, I understand everyone is eager to get it and worried about any delay no matter how small, but ED really is trying their best to get it out as soon as possible.

It has already been answered before. If I recall, Wags answered that question on one of the Q&A streams. He said at the present moment there were no plans for changing settings/controls within multiplayer.

Oh, well that's a bummer :(

It's very annoying not being able to change controls in MP, and I really can't understand why this isn't made possible. They could simply implement it the same way as in other MP games, where the game keeps running whilst in the controls menu.

Hope they add this soon, cause it really is a pain not being able to learn new aircraft and fly them along with your friends in the process.

I will toast to that. I love messing with you sithspawn, pls no bannerino :D

I'm just happy that it was added, that will be a great improvement for the 109.

That's why you go into options and look at your controls while you have them do the same to set it up before you go in game. It's not really a big deal. Our group has to do it each time one of the guys get's a new module. The way it is now may not be so bad since it keeps people out of MP sessions that are holding up slots to fix things they should have already fixed in single player. Having said that, I would prefer to be able to do it in MP, but it's not really a big enough deal to complain about.

TBH, MP has problems with glitching/jumping around and is one of my groups biggest complaints. Trying to fly formation can be hard when people are slewing around. Spawn too close to another plane can kill you because of the jumping around. Before you say, it's your computer/internet, we don't have these problems in other sims. Not complaining, just pointing out that what you are saying could be a problem, already is and we're hoping 1.5 is going to fix it.
