Guys,

Does anybody know how to deal with the damn Steam version?

Just downloaded it, tried to start it and got this message "Error Creating Process"

....

I REALLY don't want the stand-alone either and I'm having the same problem.

Verifying the cache right now to see if something went bad in that area. I'll report back in 10.

Yeah.....Go to standalone

I fixed the Steam error by launching the DCS.exe from the following location:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\bin

Hope this works for you!

Also tried it... For me it didn't work.

Nothing happened :/

To start DCS 1.5 on steam, start steam/steamapps/common/dcsworld/bin/dcs.exe with steam running

works here (having other issues tho)

Yup that fixed it.

FYI, Steam's trying to load the run.exe in the root DCS folder instead of the dcs.exe.

You dont want to, things might have changed, and things might not work right.

Well actually since the introduction of the patch system, it shouldn't be a problem.

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.

Quick reminder about download rates... This appears to be reporting in MB/s, whereas most connections are measured in Mb/s. There are 8Mb in 1 MB, and with TCP/IP overhead you can usually multiple MB/s x 10 to get the Mb/s.

So my ~25Mbps cable is downloading at 2.1MB/s, which is around 21Mbps.

Is anyone else getting kicked of the updater with a source error every 500-800 mb of download? I start it again and it picks up where it left off, just annoying on top of the slow DL. Happy to just finally have it, just wondering.

You need to navigate to the bin, hold shift and right click on the bin folder, select "open command window here" then paste or type "DCS_updater.exe update openbeta" then hit enter.
