I'd doubt that's up to LNS. ED uses it for all of DCSW.

Reformers hate him! This one weird trick found by a bush pilot will make gunfighter obsessed old farts angry at your multi-role carrier deck line up!

I have a new activation problem. The prompt appears to reactivate the module, but it gives and error report and states that I can only run one instance of the activation software...but there is only one instance running.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the module, plus restarted the software several times.

Anything else I can do, this started after I reverted back to 1.5.0 to avoid all of these bugs. For me, 1.5.0 is running very well with the MiG-21 and there is little incentive to upgrade.

I had a similar issue. In Win 10 if you don't see the DCS program in the Task Manager at the top under 'Apps', look down through the 'Background Processes' for it. If found end Task on it.

I could not re-activate the Mig21. It locked up DCS and the game would not load anymore. So, I ran the protect program for it, and then first Deactivate it. Then activate it again.

I only have that one from you (no two others) and it was missed in Oct.

Responded.

I sent you two e-mails in October and I didn't send you the third one because the module worked by applying the registry fix. No problem I suppose you have lots of emails.

But today, everytime I open 1.5 and later 1.2.16, I get the Starforce window and I have to reactivate. If later I open 1.5, I get the Starforce window again, I reactivate but the window is freeze. I have to kill the DCS task and registry is full of entries like those ones. Yesterday I had 7 activations and now I have 3 or 4, I don't remember:

Tried that, couldn't find it active anywhere in the processes. I figure it had to do with the fact that I reactivated the MiG-21 for DCS 1.5.1 and it wouldn't let me go back to 1.5.0.

I decided to go back to 1.5.1 and the MiG-21 works fine. :)

It is a bit more stuttery around airfields (which LNS knows about), but otherwise working fine.

I decided that DCS with MiG-21 is better than DCS without funky trees. ;) I figure that all of this will be fixed relatively soon, I'll spend a bit more time flying over water.

Thanks for offering to help Cobra!

Loosing activations is becoming a routine with new updates coming fast and close but I'm sure it's far more painful to you guys. Best luck fixing it!

I'm already sick of this thing, I only have it installed at my desktop and laptop, but only 4 activations left...:dunno:

Hmm.. I didn't know that you were allowed to install a license on more than one computer?

Mig-21 reactivations

After the latest open beta update, Mig-21 said my system changed significantly and asked to reactivate. I am now down to 7, although never changed anything since I bought Mig-21. Not even Windows updates... With this speed I will soon have to buy it again.

Meh, Im also down to 7 activations after the latest patch making me lose 2

Im not worried however, if it happens again though and I get lower than say 5 I will email asking for it to be rectified.

I've uninstalled the MiG-21 Bis from my beta installation for the moment while this is being looked into. I'll just fly some other aircraft in the meanwhile, it is beta after all.. While an inconvenience, it should hopefully at least mean no wasted activation and no need to add to the workload by requesting a new set once the bug is fixed?

Well, Cobra said that we will probably lose another activation in the next patch as well.

I only have 4 left, but may as well wait to send the email until I have 1 left or this is fixed. They have promised to make this right either way..

Activation consumption

After installing the latest patch, when I started DCS World it decided that I'd significantly changed the setup of my PC and required a re-activation but only for the MiG-21 module. Other than having installed the latest patch I'd changed nothing.

This doesn't necessarily concern me as I still have 8 activations remaining, but it could become an issue as further patches are published.

Is there an official ED policy with regards to beta patches using activations?

Edited to add: Ah, this has been reported elsewhere, my bad, please ignore.

System Spec: Cooler Master Cosmos C700P Black Edition case. | AMD 5950X CPU | MSI RTX-3090 GPU | 32GB HyperX Predator PC4000 RAM | | TM Warthog stick & throttle | TrackIR 5 | Samsung 980 Pro NVMe 4 SSD 1TB (boot) | Samsung 870 QVO SSD 4TB (games) | Windows 10 Pro 64-bit.

Personal wish list: DCS: Su-27SM & DCS: Avro Vulcan.

Hmm.. I didn't know that you were allowed to install a license on more than one computer?

Now you know :D

By the way I finaly managed to install it, the way; first use the reg tool and after, delete local machine software leatherneck simulations folder (I recommend to export the key as backup) with REGEDIT.exe ...and when it asks to ,insert the serial again...

(done it twice, one for beta and after for current versión 1.2.16 that mean 2 activations left...I think time to send this e-mail to Cobra)

I just had it do the exact same thing to me, after I just updated to the newest version of 'OpenBeta'. Why would we get hit with a activation after an update?

Hmm.. I didn't know that you were allowed to install a license on more than one computer?

You can, though I would imagine you will eat a lot of activations during some updates.

The reason being, my supposition here, that when you install it on Computer B, it now sees your key tied to a new hardware configuration from Computer A so you use an activation. Now, when you go to update Computer A, it sees an new hardware configuration (compared to when the last activation was performed, so you use another activation. Attempt to update Computer B and the same scenario ensues. Rinse. Repeat.

I am fairly certain that Starforce doesn't keep track of previous hardware configurations beyond the most recent activation platform.
