XeNoise Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 I am overwhelmed with NTTR and have merely scratched the surface of it's potential. I have been waiting over 15 years for this and look forward to the future developments already in the pipeline. Bravo ED and thanks.:notworthy: 9 years here (yes i was waiting for an expantion with a new map for lock on), and yes! Totally worth it. The best thing is that sometimes when i fly i get the same feeling which i had when i was flying the f-22 over the desert in the 90s (did f-22) I really missed it, feels nice and somehow like home
Mizzy Posted December 2, 2015 Author Posted December 2, 2015 Yep, on the download train... another few hrs. Getting excited reading all the fantastic experiences from the many of you that are up and flying. Question, the AI passenger jets at McCarran airport... can they be placed as static objects, or are they fixed? I would like to know that ! Mizzy
Mizzy Posted December 2, 2015 Author Posted December 2, 2015 Wish I could answer. I've been trying to DL for over 24 hours now. I finally got 2.0 installed after 4 failed updates and trying torrents and regular downloads. Now NTTR can't seem to DL. I know there are a lot of folks bottlenecking the servers and I'm trying to be patient...but geez. Best case scenario I'm flying the SU-25 around tomorrow night because I'll still be trying to download one of my modules other than NTTR. I found downloading all my modules very quick, I think the reason is that the installer used the 1.5 install, copies the files and only downloads the new files. It took me less than 10 minutes to download and install 9 modules. Very quick once you are up and running. Mizzy
311Gryphon Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Gryphon.. are your speeds better now? I just switched the server over to greg's torrent about 10 minutes ago. It's on a 10gig connection. Not yet. I did wind up cancelling the NTTR DL and downloading four of my modules last night and those went lickitty split like normal. Then before bed I started NTTR. The torrent wasn't moving at all so I cancelled that and went to the normal DL. After about 9 hours it was 20% done so at this rate it will finally finish Friday at 03:30 central. Assuming no power outages or errors. Oh well. My friend told me he's not going to bother downloading it at all until a week has gone by at least. I still think it is going to be worth it. http://www.youtube.com/user/311Gryphon i7-8700, 32 GB DDR4 3000, GTX 1080 TI 11GB, 240 GB SSD, 2TB HDD, Dual (sometimes Triple) monitor, TM Warthog HOTAS, Saitek Pro Combat Pedals, TrackIR [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

DCS didn't find it automatically for me so I ran it from the command line: In the /bin/ folder LShift + Right mouse click. Chose "Open command prompt here" (or something along those lines - I am on Swedish OS). Type: DCS_updater update and then hit Enter. I had some modules taking forever with the first updater but with the new one it was blazing fast. Perhaps that will be the case for NTTR as well. GriffonBR Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Every masterpiece takes time to be created and this is what happened with the DCS Nevada Map. It was a long time waiting, but at the end (well, not the end, it's the beginning of the Alpha:lol:) you guys did a superb job. Thanks for all the days and nights of hard work Eagle Dynamics, the Nevada map rocks! Now unfortunately I have a lot of extra work to do, so no joy today! Intel 8700K@4.7ghz(all cores) / 32Gb DDR4 /WD Black SN750 Heatsink 500gb (DCS Only) / MSI GeForce RTX 2070 GAMING Z 8G / Windows 10 PRO / VPC WarBRD Base + Warthog Stick + Foxx Mount / Thrustmaster TPR pedals / Thustmaster MFD / Thrustmaster Warthog throttle + Monstertech chair mount
LuSi_6 Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 No. Not here. Nevada has not convinced me yet. I'm a Rift user, and I can only fly way outside of Vegas. 2.0 alpha and Nevada needs massive optimisation. And where I can fly, it's empty desert... For me, old Caucasus map looks better (I can play with mch higher settings in my Rift) works better. Btw, why do we need swimmingpools and stuff? I don't see any reason why ED should have wasted time on details like this. Well, I'll stick to the Black Sea, I'll check Nevada in some weeks again. ED: go and implement time wrap for VR and we can cruise in Vegas like our 2D friends! :pilotfly: Warthog HOTAS, Saitek Pedals, Oculus Rift :joystick:

mjmorrow Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 This map is so cool! I love all the details. Vegas is a real hoot. The map looks great, at any altitude, any where I go, just fantastic sites, everywhere. I am very happy with the NTTR. Thank you to everyone behind the development and testing of this map. Each time it looks for an update it acts like it downloads a new updater. I can't pretend to know how it works. almost 24 hours after I started I'm not halfway through. Is there a solid answer for making it go faster? I don't want to cancel the DL if I start it again and it goes this slow. This is the second time I've tried, first with the torrent and now with HTTP. Both were creeping. http://www.youtube.com/user/311Gryphon i7-8700, 32 GB DDR4 3000, GTX 1080 TI 11GB, 240 GB SSD, 2TB HDD, Dual (sometimes Triple) monitor, TM Warthog HOTAS, Saitek Pro Combat Pedals, TrackIR [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
