Scared Donut Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Hey there guys, I am planning to buy the Warthog within the next 3 weeks, I am also looking for rudder pedals to buy. I've noticed that most people recommend the Saitek pro combat pedals, but there is one problem I can't find them anywhere in my city, and online they're overpriced, ($300 - $400), or they're out of stock. So I found these: http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/saitek-saitek-pro-flight-cessna-flight-simulator-pedals-ces432070002-02-1-ces432070002-02-1/10212379.aspx?path=e720aafb15168e518218201ef5b327eben02 I was wondering if anyone has them? Ill be mainly be flying the F15, A10, and the F18 whenever it comes out... Thanks for your time, and help!
hsth Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Hi, Don't know what you're willing to spend but these http://mfg.simundza.com/products are considered by most as top of the bill. Do some research here in the forum and you'll find more comments on them.
TOYKILLA Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 I have a Warthog too and I got the standard Saitek pro flight Rudder pedals. They are perfect for Fighter Pilots. Demon_ Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 The Saitek and MadCatz products are cheap quality. Parts of the rudder can broke, potentiometer will spike over time. I saw many discussion about that. The CH product are more robust but the rudder are too narrow for many peoples. the MFG are awesome and expensive. You have the choice. :D Attache ta tuque avec d'la broche.

All the Saitek pedals (3 models) is the same base/electronics with different foot rest. In Combat the foot rest is in Aluminum, so add to price, the above have "Cessna design", so add to price. :) Curiosity: VKB T-Rudder on Amazon. :) Edited December 9, 2015 by Sokol1_br
dburne Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Curiosity: VKB T-Rudder on Amazon. :) They are out of stock as well... Man there appears to be a big shortage of rudder pedals currently, noticed one seller on Amazon offering Saitek Combats for like 1K bucks lol. When my MFG's get here perhaps I should sell my Combats for a nice profit... Did Saitek quit producing their pedals? Honestly I have had the Combats for over 2 years now and never had a single issue with them they work quite well. I just wanted the MFG's for their quality and all the positive reviews they have gotten. Mine are scheduled for this month. TOYKILLA Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 I love the saitek Rudder and they works perfect . The CH looks like Grandma style. jcbak Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 I had issues with my Saitek Combat pedals after a year. Went with the MFG Crosswinds.....fantastic!....but expensive and a long wait. flyingscotsman Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Demon is right about the CH pedals, I find them a bit narrow, have the pilot seat and a warthog system. Had the pedals from years and years back. Fancy the Saitek but see the mixed reports on quality. But we spend a long time on these, If I had my time again, I would get the Saitek for comfort and 'spread out feet' hope this helps
flyingscotsman Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Just seen the post by JCBAK, had a look at them, they look NICE. You do get what you pay for, looks like the piggy bank is going to have bad accident if my CH'S mysteriously fail

You do get what you pay for, looks like the piggy bank is going to have bad accident if my CH'S mysteriously fail You won't be disappointed....I promise. I had the CH pedals and they worked fine. Regarding comfort....I found them too narrow. The precision of the MFG pedals is amazing. If they were stolen from me today I would be ordering online tonight. You wouldn't think that pedals play that important a role, but they do. Gun/missile runs with the A10C are more precise. They are so smooth. Flying helos is better as well....again the precision. With all due respect to Saitek and CH....they feel like toys compared to the MFGs. El Hadji Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 I also use the MFG Crosswind pedals. Couldn't be happier! The precision is great and you can adjust them in so many ways. You can also order extra cam profiles to better represent different aircraft types depending on what sim you fly. When flying helos you can easily remove the spring to keep them from self centering. Amazing piece of kit! And on top of that, Mr Simundza who makes them, is a very helpful guy in case something goes wrong (which hasn't been the case for me but I asked him a lot of questions via email before buying my pedals). Totally recommend them and they make a perfect match to my TM HOTAS Warthog! Rogue Trooper Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 (edited) When I got back into flight sims (DCS), I immediately went through the reviews and ended up buying the warthog setup with the cheaper CH pro pedals.. The CH Pro pedals did their job, they where close together but they served their purpose just fine and they were cheap. Generally I set myself an upgrade path:- Warthog and cheap pedals, then Track IR (essential for choppers and a total immersion king for all aircraft) and then an extension for the hog (just plain essential). Because I am into choppers, pedals are important, so eventually I went for good pedals when I could afford them. I bought MFGs and the warthog setup will be long gone before these sweet thangs are replaced. Same reason for me as well, I am mainly flying choppers right now - heavily into the Ka-50 currently and have already purchased the Huey to follow up with. I will as well be learning the A-10C at some point. Very excited about receiving these new MFG's later this month, can't wait to try them out in the KA-50. Going to get an extension I think for my Warthog next. neoshi Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 I'm a saitek pro flight combat pedals user and can vouch for their poor quality. Kept crashing even the eagle on takeoff because they wouldn't stay centered. In process for RMA right now on bad toe brakes and center pot. This is something you have to expect with saitek, and the money you spend to ship for rma shipping will probably push you to get MFG or VKB pedals. Maybe CH if you have a way to scoot your nuts out of zone lol. PS saitek said they are OOS in the combat pedals until January. Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk

The fact the MFGs are not made out of metal I guess I could pass by, but the WWII warbird pedal style is not inspiring me whatsoever. Anton. My pit build thread . Simple and cheap UFC project
algerad3 Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 WTF ??????? I saw this thread and wanted to put in my two cents. Went to look up the price as I knew that the Saitek Rudder pedals I got were $90.00. Now I see the going rate is $400.00 New ? That is crazy. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000H67DDY?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00 Wha hoppen? Anyways , I have had these pedals for at least 7 years and I love them. Just the right spacing, smooth action, toe brakes etc. No issues. Matter of fact I had two sets, one for home and the other for the boat. Both were good to and for me. Rogue Trooper Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 dburne, the huey will teach you alot about the Kamov. When it comes to great pedals, no other aircraft benefits more than the Kamov. Scared Donut Posted December 14, 2015 Author Posted December 14, 2015 Thanks for the comments! I am from Canada by the way, buying from the US is possible but it will end up being more expensive most likely due to the conversion rate. MFG's are a little too expensive for now, since I will be buying the warthog I don't wanna spend $1,000 just for a hobby.
