I just did the VRMark benchmark test...

average frame rate 235 fps

score 10793, better than 93% tests online

Which seems to point to an issue with your DCS instal. If you haven't already delete the metashaders folder

C:\Users\Your Name\Saved Games\DCS.openalpha\metashaders

When you next restart DCS it will rebuild the shaders folder again this has proven helpful to me once before.

You can also run a repair and the easiest way to do that is with Skatezillas utility

Same setup and I have 100+ frames. Suggest a reinstall of DCS.

I would not think it would be in VR, as VR afaik is capped at 90 fps.

100+fps VR .... it's not related to DCS but I've seen that before :

Flyinside for P3Dv4.....monitoring with afterburner, Flyinside make the gpu outputing 120fps, while standard P3d VR mode make the gpu outputing 90fps.

Of course rift is Vsync 90hz but it gives a clear difference in smoothness.

I've never seen 100+fps in other case than that.

If interested, there I posted results and screenshots of monitoring this : (end of page 1 and beginning of page 2)

How to drag levers with VR headset?

I'm trying to fly the TF-51 using a Rift headset and gamepad. I have some gamepad buttons bound to left mouse button, mouse wheel down, and mouse wheel up. I can look at switches and knobs in the cockpit and use the buttons to change them, but there doesn't seem to be any way to move levers like the flaps control. If I look at a lever so that the cursor is on it, push and hold down the left mouse button, and then change my gaze so that the cursor moves, the lever stays in the same place.

How do you move a lever in the cockpit in VR mode?

Exactly. I see 90 in VR (due to the cap), and 100+ without VR.

Hey guys, so i recently bought the oculus rift and wanted to switch over to dcs vr. Whenever i load in the game it loads a small 700X900 window (on my desktop) where i can only click on the settings or the news tab. I cant click ok on any of the settings. I get the intro music audio through the rift hmd but a white background that says, "Sorry, DCS.world is taking a while to load" and this has been happening since.

Advice is greatly appreciated

Specs

Intel® Core i7-7700 CPU @3.60GHz

16 GB ram

64 bit system

NVidia geforce 1060X

Thanks again

Have you allowed 'unknown sources' (3rd party apps) to run on Oculus?

Did you try putting your Oculus on and using the menus through the Oculus?

Thank you both for the quick responses, wasnt expecting it so fast.

Yes i have enabled 3rd party apps in the oculus settings

I am unable to navigate the dcs menus because the oculus screen stays on a white background with the caption, "Sorry, DCS.World is taking a while to load"

and furthermore, if i do start dcs through steamvr it says i have a control mismatch and its unable to start the app.

Im really looking forward to overcoming this obstacle so i can play dcs in vr.

Thanks again

Simple solution, don't use steam. Install DCS from the standalone, its better this way anyway cause you get access to early access modules. DCS runs on the Oculus SDK, not SteamVR when you have an Oculus anyway, so better to do this.

So i got standalone dcs version 2.2.0

i still get the same issue, small borderless window with unusable resolution just see the news tab, settings and new icon which has 6 small squares in a grid

while in the oculus, i get white vr background with a screen that is stuck on "DCS.exe loading"

I have checked the vr tab in dcs

It seems like there is a new issue every time i overcome one.

Ill see the light at the end of the tunnel soon.

Thanks again

It looks like the screenshot in only showing a portion of the opening screen so I can't tell what the error says. Have you tried setting your desktop resolution to match your in game resolution setting?

Mine always says that, but it eventually loads. IIRC it took a long time the very first time. It still says that every time.

Did you check "Enable VR Headset" in DCS Settings? You need to either do that, or load it with Skatezillas DCS tool.

Sorry to hijack this thread for a moment, but I could use some expert advise :helpsmilie:

I came across a gaming pc + cv1 offer and I was hoping some of you guy's could tell me if this system is priceworthy. And even more important, will I be able to run DCS+AV-8B (and later F/A-18C) modules on high settings in VR?

Specs:

Intel Core i7-6700K Boxed

Supermicro C7Z270-PG

MSI GeForce GTX 1080 SEA HAWK 8GB

Seagate Barracuda, 2TB

NZXT Phantom 820 Black

Gelid Solutions Phantom

Crucial Ballistix Sport LT BLS2C8G4D240FSB

Samsung 850 EVO 500GB

Oculus Rift CV1

Price € 1500 (± $ 1860,-)

Most parts still have warranty (at least the cv1 and gfx card do). According to the seller, the system hasn't been overclocked.

System specs:

i7-8700K @stock speed - GTX 1080TI @ stock speed - AsRock Extreme4 Z370 - 32GB DDR4 @3GHz- 500GB SSD - 2TB nvme - 650W PSU

HP Reverb G1 v2 - Saitek Pro pedals - TM Warthog HOTAS - TM F/A-18 Grip - TM Cougar HOTAS (NN-Dan mod) & (throttle standalone mod) - VIRPIL VPC Rotor TCS Plus with ALPHA-L grip - Pointctrl & aux banks <-- must have for VR users!! - Andre's SimShaker Jetpad - Fully adjustable DIY playseat - VA+VAICOM - Realsimulator FSSB-R3

I don't think that there is a such system that can run DCS in VR in perfectly in high.

I have built multiple little higher end setups than that and still FPS drops in VR below 30 in default VR settings, while all maxed out for 4K runs over 180 FPS.

The VR is little abysmal at the moment in 1.5 and 2.2. versions, so your timing is now little critical that what the 2.5 brings. I seriously hope that 2.5 is optimized a lot better.

Looks a nice system but knock him down if you can. Get it for 100$ less will make it more a bargain :)

Do a costing for the individual parts and see what you save
