Hello folks,

I've just tried a flight on multiplayer with a freind, interception against 2 MiG-21s, with an AWACS at our side. When we put the Radar on emission mode the frame rate goes down, and very low, 10/15 fps with big freeze.

Did some of you have encountered this issue ?

We put the radar on emission mode after take off and preheating. We start from Nellis AFB in ramp start conditions. There is no other IA except 2 MiG-21s and an AWACS.

We are both on the latest version of DCS, updated today : DCS 2.0.3.55457

My specs : GTX-960 2GB

Intel i5-4690k @ 3.5 Ghz

16GB RAM @ 1600 Mhz

Motherboard H-97HD3

My freind specs : GTX-960 4 GB

i5-4670k@4.2 Ghz

16Gb @ 1333 Mhz

Thank you, good luck to the devs.

Same here, a big impact in FPS every 4-5 seconds, from 60 FPS to 15 FPS when radar ON.

Still have freeze with radar on in last update.... Any news on the issue ?

it starts getting long.... M2000 is a fighter and we are forced to use it only as a bomber in Nevada since more than a month.

This afternoon it seems I had some freeze issue.

But tonight I do some tests offline and one quick on a multiplayer server and no issue.

So indeed there is an improvement. I will do further tests over the weekend to see if it's random or fixed.

You must have been lucky I had horrible frames on ground with radar on and in air for alittle then it seemed to smooth out. But this even happened again and also in single player.

In DCS World 2 Performance there is a thread about this with "Newy" in there

No change with the update for me. Terrible stutters as soon as the radar is on.

Same FPS drop seen here, system specs:

Win7

32 GB RAM DDR4

Win 7x64

Nvidia GTX 1070 Founders Edition

Regardless of scenario, Nevada or Georgia, in the M2k, if I set my radar to TX mode, my FPS are cut in half... at least.

I cannot reproduce the problem with either 1.5.4 or 2.0.3

Neither can I.:smilewink:

No one has reported the problem in 1.5.4, only 2.0.x.

Hi, didn't notice any performance problem on 1.5.4 when radar ON:

i5 4690k (no OC)

r9 280

windows 10 64 bits 8GB DDR5 RAM

Yes, it is a 2.0.x problem only with the last few NTTR patches.

As I said, I tested with both versions: Caucasus and Nevada and was unable to reproduce the problem.

Very annoying issue

Hi Zeus67, :)

We are very many users facing this problem. It is not because you was unable to reproduce it that it doesn't exist.

I understand that you cannot do anything without more clues to solve this.

This issue, on my computer is only happening on 2.0.x version.

With 1.5.4 everything is fine and working correctly. Its a luck I have both versions running. I couldn't play it if I only had version 2.0.x installed.

This is exactly what the other people I know are facing too.

Version 2.0.x is really unplayable as it is and I cannot play it anymore on version 2.0.x because of this annoying radar freezing issue.

I really appreciate your regular very helpfull and intensive interventions :thumbup:on the forums but this time I have to say that we are many users complaining seriously about this blocking issue and we ask you ( DCS or Razbam) to solve this one urgently, please. :helpsmilie:

Best regards.

Someone mentioned that the stuttering is connected to radar elevation, and I can confirm this.

If the radar is pointed upward above the horizon, the stutters go away.

If the radar is pointed downward below the horizon, the stutters go away.

The stutters occur when the radar scan zone is split by the horizon.

Okay folks. Working with ED we found what the problem is. So a solution is being worked on and hopefully it will be available soon.
