SkateZilla Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 I hoped for some new stuff in the screenshot section. ED and Wags randomly post new WIPs all the time outside of the newsletters, especially on FaceBook. BarTzi Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 (edited) Thanks ED for delivering a clear messege on your priorities :) personally I am not too thrilled about ww2 planes taking top priority, but I am glad you shared the info. Also, I think I won't buy any more tickets for the hype train and start following this simple rule : no screenshots? no progress. Edited November 11, 2016 by BarTzi

firmek Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 Thanks ED for delivering a clear messege on your priorities :) personally I am not too thrilled about ww2 planes taking top priority, but I am glad you shared the info. Yes, this can be appreciated. The Delay is not caused by staffing a issue. It's easy for one to sit and assume and spit out "recommendations" as to what a company should do when they do not now what's actually involved. Everyone realizes that sims are not the AAA titles. The situation however is that it's not a first delay. Sorry to say but such situation may turn even the most supporting users into sceptics. Yes, we don't know what is exactly involved. But do we need to? At the end, from a high level perspective there is nothing special with DCS, it is a project like many IS or other projects. If delays, no expected release dates, constant alpha become a standard there must be reasons for that. After all, only those that don't make anything don't make mistakes, but if the same situation keeps repeating, what does it show? F/A-18, F-16, F-14, M-2000C, A-10C, AV-8B, AJS-37 Viggen, F-5E-3, F-86F, MiG-21bis, MiG-15bis, L-39 Albatros, C-101 Aviojet, P-51D, Spitfire LF Mk. IX, Bf 109 4-K, UH-1H, Mi-8, Ka-50, NTTR, Normandy, Persian Gulf... and not enough time to fully enjoy it all
Pikey Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 (edited) I got hold of the original update before it was converted from Russian: "Dear customers, we apologise sincerely for the confusing messages last week outside of the official news forum. Rest assured, all official updates will be posted in this forum only and we won't be posting updates to our projects to the Russian speaking community only so that any confusion will arise again. Once again, deeply sorry for that confusion." Seems that its a very similar message originally except the apology was lost in Google translate. Oh well. rrohde Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 Could it be that in today's update some shader updates were implemented? It seems as if I see more depth (contrast between light and dark areas) when looking around the 3D models... or am I seeing things? BarTzi Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 (edited) Not sure how you'd depict Code development in screenshots.. Well, ED does not share code progress with us. OFC screenshots can only be made when the systems are fully coded and (some what) complete. That's my point exactly: if the hornet early access was anywhere near, ED would publish at least some screenshots in which the HUD or MFD's are turned on. Edited November 12, 2016 by BarTzi
probad Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 for me, graphical updates constitute a major core mechanical functionality, because the mk.i eyeball is the most original and central sensor avionic on board any aircraft.

ED Team NineLine Posted November 11, 2016 ED Team Posted November 11, 2016 Ugh............. So now 2.5 isn't priority... instead Normandy and Nevada (and who knows how long till those are out of beta/alpha) and then 2.5 (which based on this newsletter is at MINIMUM 2 months more work once they get back to it). So much for merging dual versions. And so much for the people who have waited a year because they don't want dual versions. Because now they will be missing out on Normandy too....... I really need to get into a virtual squadron or something so I don't go into depression lol. Funny, 2.5 seems like the top priority for me. But what do I know... msalama Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 ...or am I seeing things? Are you talking about the stable branch update? Because I thought I saw something very similar to what you described last week after the OB update. And I thought I was imagining things too, at first ;) The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
Phantom453 Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 So would that mean 1.5, 1.5 beta, 2.0, and Normandy as separate installations? I wonder why Normandy isn't delayed until the 2.5 release. Hard not to be sad about the Hornet and 2.5, but looking at it positively, it will be nice to not have a distraction from the Spit and Viggen. As well as something to look forward to in 2017. :) Careful there my friend!! No mention was made of 2017. Just that 2.5 and the Hornet would not be available in 2016. ;) No mention of the carriers either in the update. So, according to previous official DCS news releases, are we still expecting these in 2016?
Gliptal Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 I wouldn't expect carriers before 2.5. Besides, my guess is we won't be seeing the merge for another six months at least, not with the new rendering method being added as a feature anyway.
Angelthunder Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 Well i guess i'll be waiting to buy a new gaming computer until next year.Hopefully by then, will have 2.5 and the Normandy map in beta.
Vitormouraa Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 I was just wondering if NTTR could get out of alpha with the big NTTR update... is that out of question Sith? What would you say? SplashOneGaming Discord https://splashonegaming.com
ED Team NineLine Posted November 13, 2016 ED Team Posted November 13, 2016 I was just wondering if NTTR could get out of alpha with the big NTTR update... is that out of question Sith? What would you say? NTTR wont come out of its current Early Access state until its merged with a version that can handle the new version of the Black Sea map. That is my understanding of course.
