[REPORTED]Crash to desktop after today update

I had the same problem but fixed it this way:

I also have a lot of mods so I always make sure to deactivate them all before updating.

I have both Open Beta and release version of 1.5.4 and after updating the release version I encountered the same problem with the 21.

First I made a repair, that did not help..then I uninstalled The MiG-21 and reinstalled it again...did not help. Then I uninstalled the MiG again and also uninstalled the Open Beta. After that I installed the MiG again and it worked fine...seems like some outdated files were copied from the Open beta during the update operation of the release version..just my guess...

Did the same, except that i dont have mods or the beta . my guess is that when you start 1 SP mission it breaks

Just tried mine. First attempt, CTD upon entering cockpit, flew another plane after restarting and then tried the 21 again. Almost managed to get airborne before CTD. This is the most problematic of all my modules for some reason. :(

Just tried the Mig-21 in the Final Release with today's update, CTD upon opening in the cockpit. Tried the Mig-21 in the Open Beta with today's update and it worked fine. Did the Quick Start Takeoff .miz, flew a circuit and actually landed without crashing for a change. Not sure why the Beta works but the Final Release doesn't. I'll leave that to folks with far more knowledge about these types of issues than I have. I don't know if the sequence with which one applies the updates has anything to do with it, but I updated my Final Release first this morning and then did the Beta update. Just thought I'd throw that in for whatever help it might be. I know sometimes when I update the Final Release it often copies files from the Beta or the Alpha. I can't say I noticed it doing that with today's update but I may simply have missed it.

Tried to attach my Log file, No Joy!

I don't even understand why ED is pushing updates on the Stable and not on the OB. I really dont't understand, have they forgotten that the have a hole seperate brunch to test updates? Why do I have to do their work and go again and roll back my version on Release just so I can fly the Mig?

Hi All

Installed the latest update on 1.5 Beta and had the same problem with Mig21 crashing DCS world. After playing about with config folder files etc, I found that in settings under cockpit resolution I changed it from my usual setting of 1024 to 512 and all Mig 21 missions loaded and worked ok, just to confirm it for my self exited back to settings and changed to 512 every frame and it crashed again, back to 512 ok, hope this helps.

It's the resolution of cockpit displays, so shouldn't affect the MiG, as it doesn't have any. But, if sensible clues don't work, one has to start trying absurd ones :D. I'll try this out (mine crashes with this setting on 256).

Same here, crashing while loading, only MiG-21, no mods, v. 1.5.4.57013. Repairing files, reinstalling mod... or even entire Windows 7 didn't help. I bought this module yesterday, very disappointing.

No I can't chill. I am tired of having game breaking bugs on the Release Version. ED should use tha OB brunch a little wiser.

I agree, but It doesn't change thew fact that before creating a fix one has to know what's causing the problem first.

just bought the module and i can't even do a single mission. either the game crashes on loading the module or after a couple of seconds inside the cockpit. seriously considering a refund already...

Repair the game and disable the mod fixed my problem.

But why no shadow tree EDM files crashe the mig-21, but other DLC works still good.

I dont get it

Guys I have had some success after re-saving the mission in the editor.

For example the instant action cold start mission was crashing 100% for me, after re-saving in the editor it is working.

might be a fluke, but worth a try

edit:

I was wrong still crashing, but works better if loaded from mission editor

I don't have DCS 1.5.4.57013 installed but checking in DCS 1.5.4.57040 and MiG-21 works fine for me. No CTD.

EDIT: spoke too soon, tried different mission starting on runway and I got CTD. Previous one was start in air where I got no CTD.

Forgot to mention that this happens in both the open beta and the official release version. No mods, stock missions and custom made mission that was saved before flying.

Update:

I've been testing some more.

About every 10th attempt on starting an Instant Action mission I've actually not gotten a crash. (about 50% of the crashes where during loading, the other 50% just after I click "Fly").

When I get into a mission successfully I can end it and start new mission without problems (I successfully started and ended at least 6 missions this way). I could even quit DCS without a crash in this case.

Yes exactly what I am seeing, a report has been made #36026

ED and Leatherneck are looking into it.
