Didn't see anything similar to this thread, so here goes.

While there's an entire section for the "home cockpits" there's no where really to show off what you have if its not a "Hardcore Cockpit" so why not start a thread for it and maybe give people idea of what they can add or change about their own home setup.

so to kick things off, here's mine.

Saitek X52

TrackIR 5

DSD "trackzilla"

Android tablet running Roccat Power-Grid (for radio commands and macros)

Bluetooth keyboard (for generic keyboard commands and typing)

All running off an MSI GT72 6QD Laptop

And to add to the hype, an F/A-18c model sitting on my router

I'm aware the monitor is off center, it's actually mounted to my desk and just resting on the stand it's on.

Good idea .. I would love to have a full-on cockpit, but its simply too expensive for my pocket :(

What I do have is a bunch of older monitors, connected to two graphics cards on my gaming PC ... yeah, it would be better if they were all the same size, but then I would need a larger desk :) ... at least they are all the same resolution (1280 x 1024):

Rudel_20150603_4858.jpg

This allows me to run DCS at 3840 x 1024 and with medium quality I can get a reasonably high fps.

I use a TrackIR clone (the Delan clip and FacetrackNoIR software) and have an old Thrustmaster Hotas Cougar that has already broken twice, but managed to repair it :D

Cheers!

Right now I'm flying using this homemade furniture (now painted, with an extension, see last picture), with a 2560x1080 screen, using an IKEA MICKE to support the throttle.

Very compact for my small desk area.

Feel free to borrow the concept.

Here's my setup. I rarely use the smaller touch-screen monitor anymore though, since I'm mostly flying in VR now with my Oculus Rift. Everything is mounted on a 2'X2' power tool cart, so I can just unplug it when I'm done and roll it away into a corner where its out of the way. I recently added a small stand behind the touchscreen to mount my Oculus sensor camera.

Use every square inch of your desk!

Looks much cleaner without the hotas on it (Or looks much worse, depending on your outlook)

This was my setup until recently:

DSC_0622.JPG?dl=1

Have since then added joystick extension and a small monitor to the left.

Future idea is to make a plate or something that holds the pedals and the chair in place, and then make a setup with centre mounted joystick and side mounted throttle.

System specs:

Gigabyte Aorus Master, i7 9700K@std, GTX 1080TI OC, 32 GB 3000 MHz RAM, NVMe M.2 SSD, Oculus Quest VR (2x1600x1440)

Warthog HOTAS w/150mm extension, Slaw pedals, Gametrix Jetseat, TrackIR for monitor use

My setup, I have recently got a Vive so no monitor :)

I will make a monitor stand for the games not supporting VR, just need to figure out how to do that the best way.

Some of your guys' idea of an average home setup is ridiculous. Some of them look like they definitely belong in the home cockpit thread!

Sorry, just replying to the thread title request.

Mine is really pretty simple, it's just 2x4s and plywood combined with a few panels and a collective I made, doesn't look too different from how it started.

  • 1 month later...

Nice to see peoples non-full cockpit setups. Here is mine, I try to use VR mainly. I custom made the HOTAS chair mounts and actually have an update coming to it shortly. Then it should be done. Next up is a micro motion platform for it..we shall see.
