Has anyone know if it will be a new territory added in BS? Or is it a classified informations?

I've heard rumour some time ago that Turkey will get at least one AFB. Not sure is it true or plans has changed...

With the release of GlowingAmraam's Video, "Promo1", it was already officially clarified that there would indeed be new territory added in BS.

You can even see some of this new landscape in the video, when he is overflying a dam with nightvision, and other areas throughout the movie.

Yup, and beautifully set in the midst of a mountain range...imagine the missions and possibilities that could unfold in this terrain!

I seriously doubt it, although that only seams reasonable, but the mechanics that would have to go into that, and the amount of scripting to show the chain of events and water break would be overwhelming. But then again, I hope I'm wrong in saying this, and they DID model that..

Don't know but I'd like to try. But I doubt that it will be possible due to the fact that everything involved would kill your computer.

I agree. But it would suck to see that dam sitting there mocking us with its indestructibility. I would rather see it destructible with no resulting flood than just be eyecandy.

The "rivers" in Lockon don't even "flow" ;)

You're kidding? Never tried that!

Yep, rivers do flow. Maybe water is not animated but there's some flow mechanics scripted there. I remember someone shown that to us on forums back in the old days.

edit: I'd also like to know more about that new airbase being added in 1.2 on Turkish territory. Is this confirmed?

man.....I will jump up from my seat and say "HOOT HOOT" if the broken dam actually spills water. I'm serious....that feature alone is enough to make me buy BS ;)

It was me - the photos are still in photobucket so if you find the thread ( in the screenshots threads) there's me floating down the river in an Su25T (& having bits broken off - I seem to do it fairly regularly..)

Cheers.

Hmmm..., how many Mk-84s will it take to.....

Tell you what, Mk-84 is expensive. Drop Hammer on it.

Disclaimer: When I say Hammer, I really wasn't thinking of Mower. I swear.

ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P

Uhoh, I am surprised by this "forgotten" feature...

And yeah, a broken dam with water spilled out...:photo:

And if you fly with the Ka50 under the water, the Ka50 would clean up OR pushed down into the river...

As for destroying Dams: IIRC 617 sqdn Dambusters used a 5 ton Bomb, and this was dropped down the wet face of the Dams so as much of the blast was forced into the Dams as possible.

I think you would need a darn big weapon to crack a Dam. Don't think even Bunker-Busters would do it (unless you hit the same spot repeatedly, perhaps).

I was going to comment that that nothing short of a nuke would take out something like "the highest arch dam in the world" untill I came across this

"The risks to human life caused by the crumbling dams of the ex–Soviet Union are equivalent to the better known risks from its decrepit nuclear power plants. When three engineers from Hydro–Quebec inspected Inguri Dam in the republic of Georgia in 1994, they found the world’s third highest dam "in a rare state of dilapidation". Only two out of five groups of turbines were in working order, the turbine galleries were flooded by water leaking through the concrete arch dam, and the spillway was found to be "defective". Not only does Georgia not have the money for the urgently needed repairs, but at the time of Hydro–Quebec’s visit the staff working at the dam had not even been paid for six months. Inguri was completed only in the 1980s: the condition of many of the older Soviet dams is presumably even worse."

I suggest ED model this carefully so I can fly my ka-50 over there, take it out with the canon, and surf the deluge....
